The familiar voice made Paige's smile grow to a grin as she realised who exactly it was that she'd grabbed. Quickly she threw her arms around him in a delighted hug before stepping back, a bright laugh escaping as she realised the game he was playing.

"Oh don't worry about them, they don't mind sharing and as you say it's my favourite song. They'd be quite upset if I didn't get to dance to it."

Even if he hadn't known what mask she'd been wearing that night, Halil would've known her by voice alone. Coyness slinks into his blood, his normal stoic, unbothered demeanour falls as she grabs his hands but he doesn't concede. "Miss?!" A surprised gasp, feigned, escapes him. "I don't dance with people who are strange to me! In fact, I would prefer not to dance at all but if it is your favourite song, who am I to say no?" A grin as he looks around, playfully paranoid. "Is your boyfriend strong? Your girlfriend? Both? I don't want any trouble for obliging you."

"If he's arrived yet then absolutely I will point him out." In honesty Paige wasn't sure if either of her partners would make it this evening but at least the boys were with a sitter so if they had the chance the three could have an adult night together.

"Oh I tried, still trying, frequently, it's just as soon as there's a stress it's like my fingers start to itch."

"Well, as I'm not sure who your partner is, you might have to point him out to me." She flickers the lighter a couple of times as she waits for the cigarette to be produced. "Or I might just go around telling everybody." Her voice is teasing, full of a smile. It's grateful, though.

She's not usually nosy, content to let things lie, but she's tipsy, so conversationally, she asks, "Did you try to quit? Or just- lying?"

"Well then we'd better not to the macarena," Paige was absolutely not put off by Lola's admission. If anything her cheeky smile widened and she stepped forward to place one hand on Lola's hip.

"I'll be gentle. One dance then I'll release you."

"Oh, yeah, about that—" Lola chuckles awkwardly behind her — slightly disturbing — frog mask. "one wrong move in this dress, and it's boobs out. Seriously, we're talking one macarena away from a nip slip."

"Fashion is the enemy of fun. Trust me, I'm a recovering Vogue addict."

The man's rebuttal just made Paige give a bright laugh and she raised her glass to him.

"Y'know what? That is fair enough, a night like that certainly sounds interesting... Maybe not the ballet."

"Going?" He scoffs. "That's where it's been all night."

The woman watches the people around them, and Hans watches her. "Yeah, why would I? Sex, mystery, and fuck it — ballet."

"Oh I love this song! Come and dance with me." Did Paige know the person that she was talking to? Honestly she wasn't sure given all of the masks. Was she giving them a chance to answer before she grabbed their arm and pulled them onto the dance floor? No.

She was comfortably tipsy, the fire of her latest scotch still dancing on her tongue. But it was enough that she was excited to dance rather than paranoid about who may see.

Busy events like this were not Paige's best setting. She prefered smaller, intimate things, especially when she couldn't make out people's faces. She'd taken off her own mask as soon as she'd reached the smoking area taking a deep breath to try and regulate herself.

She was leaning against the wall, not really paying attention to who else was coming and going. She looked up at the voice though and, with a small chuckle, went into her bag. "Just don't tell my partner, he thinks I quit."

There is always some small fear, at events such as these, that if Audra disappears out of the door, she will not be let back in. It's a fear that comes from days of being a plus one. Never having been completely on the outside, but skirting the edge enough to worry.

Fiddling with a metal lighter and no cigarette to speak of, she glances at the door now. Wind ruffles her hair very slightly. A shiver passes through her. Whether the masks make the whole thing more or less of a concern, she's unsure. "Sorry," she murmurs, catching a figure next to her. "You don't have a spare? I've got the light but-"

"Jesus is that where you're mind is going? Hope not all are as like minded as you." Paige was laughing softly despite her words. She did wonder if people were thinking it, her mind hadn't strayed that way instead on how she was meant to keep track of her boss with people wearing masks all too similar.

"You wouldn't complain? That's certainly interesting."

With a whiskey in hand, Hans studies the crowd — mentally making notes of worst, to best, and Must-Talk-To's. There' no question that the room exists under a cloud of mystery, tonight.

"Yeah, are we sure this isn't some Eyes Wide Shut thing?" He asks his — masked, of course — companion. "Not that I'm complaining."

"No, no don't worry. Just on my lonesome tonight. Well. As lonely as one can be in a place as busy as this." Paige explained, her gaze going back to the TV soon. Basketball wasn't her favouritesport but she tolerated it and it always seemed to boost the atmosphere of a night out.

"You alright? Odd time to join a night out."

Meg shifted between bodies, twisting to avoid the milling crowd of shoulders and elbows. Some announcer's voice echoed background noise from the spattered and synced TVs, recapping the score between basketball teams from college towns she'd never lived in. Meg leaned onto the bar to order a Jack and Coke before she settled into one of the few empty seats, tethering her purse and camera bag around her leg in one fluid motion— keeping them secure without having to hold them. "Oh, shit," she glanced over, catching the eye of the person next to her. Gesturing to her bar seat, she continued, "You weren't saving this for someone, were you?"

1990 - Paige is born. Not much is known from her early years only that she was born in Freetown and left at an orphanage at only a few months old.

1997 - She is adopted by the American family of the Kamara’s. They were third generation Americans and had roots in Sierra Leone (hence the surname and their reason for adoption). They moved her to New York where she met her elder sister and extended family for the first time.

2001 - Paige starts Middle School. It’s a big adjustment and she shrinks back in herself a little. Still having tints of her original accent she’s bullyed. Nothing horrendous but enough that she feels shy and anxious. She wants to cling to her sister but the older sibling finds it embarrassing and this is the start of the gap between them growing.

2008 - She graduates high school and the tensions between her and her sister are high. Paige’s grades were not what she wanted them to be and she becomes the first in generations not to go onto higher education. So instead she moves out and becomes determined to make her own way. She gets a rubbish little job at a cafe and a bedsit.

2011 - At the recommendation of a friend Paige goes for a job as the Personal Assistant of Athena, an art dealer. Although initially unaware of the crime connections Paige adores art and being in that world really intrigued her.

2016 - Paige meets Partner A (details can be plotted). They start off as friends but it soon develops into something more.

2018 - Paige meets Partner B (details can be plotted) whilst out with Partner A. There’s an instant connection between the three of them. Paige had been in polyamorous relationships but not with all three dating each other. It took a lot of deep conversations and clear boundaries but the three of them have been in a committed relationship since then.

2020 -  The partnerships first child is a complete surprise and Paige finds herself on the outside of the experience. She tells herself she doesn’t mind that and truly as soon as she feels the baby kick for the first time she is smitten. Motherhood is something she didn’t know she wanted and she is besotted by her children.

2022 - When their eldest turned 2 the family decided to try for another child. Initially the plan was that Paige would carry the baby. However, after routine tests she was told it would be difficult for her to concieve. Not impossible, but difficult. The news broke Paige’s heart as much as she tried to hide it. The three of them decided to take a more casual approach agreeing that if something was to happen then itwould be a blessing but they didn’t want to put pressure on it.

2023 - Her partner, very worriedly, told Paige they were pregnant again. Paige was delighted to be a mother again but she has hidden a lot of her upset that she’s not been able to have that side of the experience yet. She’s tried not to let her partners see this and obviously adores her second son just as much as the first.

Now - Paige is happy (mostly) in her life. She works hard for Athena although she tries to avoid the criminal side for the most part. Cheeky, excitable once you know her she can initially come across as aloof or cold.

Her partners - Paige and these two others have been in a relationship for the last 7 years (at least). They have two young sons together and are deeply loving and supportive of each other.

Adoptive parents - The Kamaras adopted Paige when she was seven years old. The details of their relationship can be plotted. She loves them and is grateful to have them but she worries she’s a disappointmet and has not told them about her relationship.
