I want literally any and all aspects of Valangel to explored so thoroughly I ended up ill but there is a little aspect of it that I feel has to be addressed in some point since it correlates to Angel's addiction: the economic dependence.

Despite the fact that is constantly mentioned that Angel's services are not cheap and that he brings alot of money in.... He is 3 months behind on his rent and has to suck his landlord off- hell the whole reason why he is at the Hazbin is because he needs the free room lmao is not an small detail at all. And ofc, any and all side gigs he does on his own will go straight to buy the hard stuff.

It's obvious Val (or Vox?) manages the money that does comes from his image and call me crazy but I don't think is a very honest business practice whatever the hell they have going on. We know that Val gives Angel gifts, Fat Nuggets was one, but that makes you question how much of what Angel owns is actually his. Val said he "made him" and I honestly don't think that was just his narcissism talking I am sure that scene implies that Angel wasn't that much better off before he met Val. He is literally an drug addict his family kicked off, he might be extremely street smart but any and all cash he gets will just go to more drugs.

I see Val as the kind to go full "aww baby, you don't need cash. I can buy you whatever you want! Just say the word 💜💜" to avoid actually paying him. I don't even think it would be because evil Capitalist™ that seems to be more Vox's style, despite being as greedy I think Val is more onto the whole "making sure your victim has literally nowhere to run to" Angel CAN make money on his own...but again, look where it always at in. Hell Poison literally spells it off: Angel has the coke served on an silver plate when he is with Val. So Val would be indirectly exploiting two weak points of Angel's: his lack of stable income and his mental illness. Is so evil I love it lmao

Like the only time we actually see Angel use money for anything other than his vice is when he pays for Niffty at ep6 and for all we know that is Charlie's money lmao so what happens if he wants to buy something for someone else? Will he prioritize the goal in mind instead of buying his stuff or will he literally ask Val for money? Because it's doesn't looks like Val likes whenever he does freelance either ("keep this between us, would ya? I can't let everyone know I offer my services to randos on the streets" and this literally happens like 1 minute or so after Val texted him about getting him his money)

Financial abuse is one of the most common aspect of DV and explotation in general and I would love to see more of it uwu
