Bullying is what brings people down and normalizes mistreatment, and it starts at cringe culture.

YOU are only making it worse for people who are neurodivergent, lgbtq, trans, and poc because YOU believe that anyone “different” should be exiled just because you’re too close minded to understand there are people who aren’t clones of everyone else.

I just wanna give you my opinion on proshipping cuz this is my yap account so I can express my opinions.

I don’t support proshipping it is harmful and people who support it are either creeps or are groomed into supporting it (which is a fact).

“Just because I ship (insert problematic dynamic) in fiction doesn���t mean I support (insert problematic dynamic) irl.” Why do romancize it, I don’t understand why unless you’re a creep or a child because many ex proshippers were groomed and due to finding out they were groomed stopped.

Even if they don’t support it irl it’s still harmful because kids might go to the ship and think it’s okay and adults might develop a paraphilia as a result of this. Also there are a lot of instances where fiction can affect reality, example the Slenderman killings.

“What about violent video games?”

Violent video games are reasonable, violence is a defense mechanism in video games like in real life and the brain sees sex as good thing and violence as bad thing. Yes murder is bad but it comes with a result death, we all die but we all don’t get groomed or raped.

As for the coping mechanism thing. I don’t think a victim that doesn’t fit the”ideal victim” mold should be shamed for not being an ideal victim but, idk why you would do it. I get you want to see your favourite character go through the trauma you experienced but I don’t get romancizing it but I have theories:

1) They are a creep and don’t actually use it as a coping mechanism.

2) They are victims who have no one but the internet and are groomed to thinking it’s a good coping mechanism.

3) And my most interesting theory: They don’t wanna have the burden of having a traumatic event happen to them so they sugar coat it to not make them feel better.

It does not justify their actions, I am not trying to enable them I believe reason doesn’t equal excuse. It is still immoral, illegal, and vile and it’s a terrible coping mechanism.

Unless they are children, like I said most ex proshippers are groomed victims. Yeah it doesn’t justify their actions but kids are still learning and developing and instead of demonizing them you should teach them “But they were so groomed that they would disagree no matter how nice you are” then just keep trying proshipping spaces are dangerous and you should get them away no matter how long or hard it is.

Also I fucking hate the whole different definition of proship debate because wtf does it mean? Is it a ship? Is it anti harassment? Is it an ideology? Is supporting all ships?

Anti harassment, proshippers say they believe it but no they don’t. One example is that a someone on Twitter posted a cute anti proshipper mascot.

It caused her so much harassment so much she deleted it (cannot find proof all I see is another anti proship mascot Annita but I’ll find proof just if I find it.)

“FICTION DOESN’T EFFECT REALITY” and “ANTI HARASSMENT” until something doesn’t align with their beliefs.

This are my opinions I don’t mind people having different opinions unless these opinions are disproven (Fiction can’t affect reality and proshipping is harmless.)

And a note: I don’t consider myself as an anti because.

1) It’s the lolicon equivalent of “tourist”

2) A loud minority harass child proshippers which I don’t think it’s the best way to go about it. The reason why they did that is because they are victims themselves and seeing a traumatic event that they went through being romanticized pisses them of and also majority of the people see all proshippers as groomers which is reasonable.

This should not be an excuse but it is a reason they think and do this way.
