"Another half an hour?" Kai huffed out with genuine exasperation and worry as they looked over to Kabu. "Oh uh...name's Kai. Kai Beltran. It's nice to meet you, Monsieur Kabu." They introduced themselves, greeting Kabu with a kind and polite tone. "So...I assume this is an occasional routine with the weather, is that right?"

"Okay, okay...I'm fine. Really. No need to make such a big fuss about me, okay?" Kai tried reassuring them, their face filled with genuine exhaustion and worry.

Kai gave a small nod, entering one of the cubicles that is now occupied by them. They hung the towel up, turning on the shower too as well. They prefer a warm shower more than a cold shower as they started to wash themselves, letting the droplets of warm water pouring down on their body. This was definitely an interesting day.

"Alright! Let's hop in the shower then!"

He said in a cheerful tone and planted both of his hands on Kai's shoulders, before gently nudging them from behind towards the line of cubicle showers lined up against the tiled wall for them. Benji seemed to be rather excited to be under the shower!

"Pick whichever you want!" Benji then entered one of the cubicles and took off his towel to hang on the door hook. Shortly after, with a twist of the shower knob, droplets of cold water poured down from above and pelted his sweaty physique. A sigh of great relief (alongside a shiver) slipped out of his mouth, and he started humming away carefreely.

Kai winced slightly at Benji slamming the door shut in which caused them to jump along with almost everybody else in this room. After an apology was issued, they snapped out of it when Benji called on them, already making their way over to Benji and giving a small nod. Kai then puts their worn clothes into Benji's locker, with a towel wrapped around their waist. "There we go!" They were warming up to the Gym. Perhaps they could come back here more often.

"Looks good!" Benji slammed the locker door shut, and its loud noise caused everyone else in the gym shower to jump and throw annoyed glances in their direction.

"Oi, keep it down!"

A voice from one of the cubicles exclaimed out loud under the filter of running shower. Benji sheepishly scratched the back of his head and replied with an audible sorry towards whoever and wherever the source of the voice turned out to be. His apology was answered with a loud groan instead.

"Alright! Let's get showered!"

With that being said, he skipped towards his own locker, and dumped every single piece of clothing worn on him into the void, then gestured after Kai to pile his stuffs into it as well.

"C'me here, Kai! Just throw your stuff in there!" He said, then threw in what seemed to be his gym shorts and worn underwear into the locker. Benji wasn't wearing anything but a towel around his waist by now. Fortunately, this gym had enforced a rule that banned any form of nudity, elsewise silly Benji would end up running around without anything on him most of the time.

Kai kept their eyes averted a bit. They didn't want to be rude to Benji by staring at his torso but they moved their eyes to where Benji opened the locker. However, once Benji puts the piece of clothing back into the locker only for it to tumble down from the mess, they made eye contact with Benji who gave them a stupid smile. Perhaps the clothing that tumbled down from its pile? There were two article of clothings that tumbled down from its pile from the locker.

"Oh? Really?" They questioned in surprise, giving a small nod. They moved forward to take a look at the article of the clothing in the locker before deciding on the T-shirt with a Delibird print on it. "What about this one, Benji?" They knelt down, grabbing the T-shirt with a Delibird print on it and then holding it up for Benji to see.

"Ohh! It's right over here!" Benji said, half-naked in his gym shorts, before skipping over to a very specific locker at the far end of the shower room and swung its door open.

There were a huge pile of clothing to be found inside of the locker, and one fell off from the bundle itself and onto the floor. Benji picked it up and shoved it back into the locker, only for it to tumble down again from the massive pile. He didn't notice it this time since he had already turned to face Kai with a stupid smile on his face.

"Here it is! Just pick one! Some people came here to take a shower and forgot to bring their clothes home, but they never really come back again. Not sure why though. Don't worry about the smell, they are not stinky! The guy at the front always wash them before throwing them into the locker."

Another article of clothing came tumbling down from the pile once he finished speaking. Laying flat on the tiled floor was a T-shirt with a Delibird print on it.

Kai seemed rather surprised as they tried to get a word in but nonetheless, Benji had dragged them to the shower room. "Benji, wai-!" They tried protesting a bit but they cut themselves off, a sigh escaping from their mouth once they realized that Benji wasn't going to give up on them. Once the two of them made it to their designated destination, Kai could hear the shower running. They have everything here in the Gym, don't they? No wonder why their peers kept talking about the Gym. This Gym is quite interesting and helpful.

Before they could say anything, Kai's eyes widened in genuine surprise at Benji starting to take his shirt off right in front of him which caused Kai to immediately avert their eyes away. They didn't want to be rude in any way possible as a soft anxious expression plastered across their face. "Oh uh...not really? I didn't know I was supposed to get my locker keys from the guy at the front."

Their eyes showed surprise as they shook their head, "Oh, please, you don't really have to do that for me!" They informed Benji, seeming taken aback by the kindness and everything Benji is willing to do for them. "Earlier, you mentioned that you guys keep an extra change of clothes aroound here?" They questioned Benji, tilting their head a bit.

"Awesome! But oh! No worries! We always keep an extra change of clothes around here! Come on!"

Benji chuckled out loud, then without hesitation, he tugged at the other's arm and proceeded to drag him towards the shower room, regardless of Kai's objection. His grip, though gentle yet firm, belied an immense strength unlike any other from the way he effortlessly 'ushered' Kai in his tow. It was rather unbelievable.

They could hear the sound of the shower running as soon as the both of them arrived at their designated destination. The chillness in the air of the mosaic-tiled gym shower was very much welcomed especially after one had worked out quite the sweat. Before Kai could say anything, the spirited young man which had inadvertently became their gym coach, had started taking off his shirt.

"Whoo! Oh yeah, did you get your locker keys from the guy at the front? If you forgot, you can use mine to keep your stuffs for now. Peeps are iffy about sharing lockers here, but I think they'll make an exception for you this time since you're new!"

Kai kept that acceptance of the offer in mind as they seemed to be warming up to Benji. They allowed Benji to put the dumbbells away as they chuckled softly, "Yeah, I'm glad too as well even when it was my first time exercising or training. Either way, it was still a lot of work." Their eyes soon widened in surprise when Benji's stomach rumbled rather loudly.

Soon after, their stomach rumbles too as well. "O-oh! Thank you and sure, I'm up for grabbing some food with you!" Shower? They realized that they didn't bring any extra clothes. A slight groan escapes from their mouth, "I'm gonna have to sit out for the shower. I forgot to bring extra clothes...you see, I wasn't expecting to exercise but...here I am, who just did exercising." They let out an awkward chuckle.

"Whoa! That's so cool! I'd be very happy to meet your buddies someday!" The offer was kindly taken and accepted wholeheartedly. It seemed like Benji's infectious energy had worked its magic and rubbed some on Kai himself, judging from the bright smile on their face when they were describing their home-region.

Benji then assisted them in putting the dumbbells back into their rightful places, and wiped the sweat off his forehead with an arm.

"Phew! Not bad, buddy! Not bad at all! I'm glad that you pulled through—" As soon as he said that, a loud rumbling came from his stomach, and Benji sheepishly rubbed the back of his head in mild embarrassment.

"Hehe, so sorry about that, but can't help it when you're feeling hungry, yeah? We've been working out tons of sweat after all!" A hand was placed on top of his stomach as he rubbed it in a circular motion. "Hey! You're cool, you know that? You wanna' grab some food with me after we hit the shower?"

Kai seemed rather surprised by the choice of words that they are not familiar with. They blinked a few times in confusion as they soon finished their set of curls too as well, processing on what just came out of Benji's mouth. "Yeeeahhh..." They replied rather slowly in confusion, partially confirming Benji's question about Kalos being the land of fancy-schmancy pants and hon-hon buns. Walking creampuffs and floating cotton candies? Wait...do they mean Slurpuff and Aromatisse? Huh, Benji has a lot of creativity when it comes to certain things that Benji doesn't know about.

However, Kai didn't mind educating Benji about Kalos. "Well, Kalos is one of the most famous regions, known for its delicious food and for its actors and actresses along with battling and Pokemon contests for Pokemon coordinators!" Kai beamed brightly, a bright smile plastering across their face. "It's pretty interesting. You get to explore the entire Kalos region and do all sorts of stuff! My first Pokemon's a Delphox and I brought Delphox over here from Kalos to Paldea! I have other Pokemon I got here from Paldea. I'm more than happy to introduce you to them later down the road." They offered.

"Oh! Kalos! That's the land of fancy-schmancy pants and hon-hon buns, right? I see a lot of funny-looking men with funny-looking moustaches on TV sometimes, and they all say they are from Kalos! Kalos is where you can also find walking creampuffs and floating cotton candies, right?" Benji exclaimed out loud with his myriad of ridiculous questions, before finishing his set of curls, eagerly waiting for his young companion to complete theirs as well.

"What's it like in Kalos? I've never been to anywhere outside of Paldea! Tell me, tell me!"

Kai nodded, continuing to exercise with the lighter dumbbell. Their eyes widened in surprise at the small talk as they shot a bewildered glance at Benji. "Oh! I'm from Lumiose City, Kalos! I'm not from Area Zero." They definitely did wince a bit at the mention of Area Zero due to what happened to them and their friends in Area Zero but they didn't mention it. "I speak a mixture of Kalosian and some other languages but I'm more fluent in Kalosian most of the time."

"That's right! Now let's do one set of ten and see how you fare!"

Benji then proceeded to join the other in the proposed work-out plan, but opted for a much heavier dumbbell which was better suited for someone of his size and experience. It was a beginner-friendly rep and it shouldn't be any trouble for Kai to handle. On the fifth or sixth curl, Benji initiated a small talk.

"Hey, buddy! Where are you from? It's so cool that you can speak this funny language! Are you from Area Zero?"
