I like to think that SY and SQQ's marriage consists of SQQ being aggressively possessive and caring about SY. jiuyuan dynamic i like is sy having a huge soft spot for sj but also understanding that sj has a terrible personality and sj being extremely jealous that sy pervails where he fails. so its sj being prickly and sy deciding to accept all of it (as long as no one gets hurt).

sj tries to help, it fails spectacularly bc he is who is, and people start making things up. sj has no intention of defending himself so sy is the one who steps up and clarifies sj's intention. when people believe sy, it leads to sj being even more bitter but sy can play him like a fiddle so he manages to calm him down.
