•~°≈A Murder's Love≈°~•

Prompt: Mammon's murder of crows loving MC more than they love Mammon.

• ~ ° ≈ ° ~ •

So we all know that Mammon has a murder of familiars. They're all crows and they're a lot like himself, basically mini Mammons. They are always making a raucous, they like taking shiny things, and are always following those they're like.

They really like Mammon and he is the only person they'll listen to. There is constantly a handful of crows following behind him. That was until you came to Devildom. They all flock to you and will take your word over Mammon's. Some familiars they are...

The crows love your attention! So much so that they bicker in jealousy just for said attention.

Whenever the crows try getting your attention, Mammon starts shooing them away. Be it out of jealousy of his own or from embarrassment that his familiars are relieving his true feelings towards you.

The crows nestle and preen your hair. They braid their feathers in your hair while they do. Your hair is their nest now. You cannot stop them.

They are constantly giving you gifts. From their shiniest of feathers to just really random trinkets they find. If you try and keep all these gifts from them, they'll only start giving you more. Now you have 3 shoe boxes full of crap, but it's their crap and it's the thought that matters.

Mammon gets jealous too and starts getting you more gifts. They give you a ran over penny and Mammon will buy you a new pair of shoes you wanted. At least you have another shoe box for the birds.

It's actually humorous watching Mammon compete with his own birds for your love. You have to sometimes remind him that they're his birds and you aren't gonna love a murder more than you love him. Just don't let the crows hear you say that.

The murder havs sanctuary in the shed that's in the back garden. Mammon gives them seeds every morning and night. Sometimes Mammon asks if you would like to help feed them. Oh, how the crows love when you do. They get to see you!

The crows live a very free life compared to other familiars. That's mainly because their owner is a chill demon who dislikes responsibilities and wants a free life like them.

Despite this pettiness of his birds possibly getting more attention then him, Mammon is actually thankful that the crows like you. His crows can be picky with who they like. (They once chased Belphegor down the hall). That's all I have to say. His murder loves you.

So iv been thinking about it more, and I may reconsider how far the marks go for some characters. Especially levi, since we didn't really see where he would have been imprisoned. So I'm thinking of getting his mark more around the wrists and maybe moving belphie, and asmos to the forearm.

Additionally I might think about rephrasing the branding part. It's more like a curse perhaps in the sense that their father made sure if anyone was going to go against his will, everyone would know what they did. Hence being guilty in the eyes of god. Every angel would be born with the curse, but with ever additional offense, it would spread more. It wouldn't really matter how the brothers change as people because "once a sinner always a sinner" as I'd probably think God is saying. Idk I'm not religious but I like exploring how religious effects people, but that's besides the point.

Glad yall liked the original post though! I always thought their demon form was kinda lacking is design but I wasn't really sure what it was. Feel free to run with this idea cuz I don't have enough brain juice to add much more to this.

Ok so you know the saying "you've got blood on your hands" As a metaphor for being guilty of something?

Well I took the idea and ran with it to make this.

They kinda work like brands in the sense that they are constant reminders of ones sins. I know this kinda exist in real life in a sense but it wasn't my intention to mimic that.

But umm... only people who were/are angels can get them. The Higher up the marks go, the more grave the sin was.

I kinda wanted to match it up with lesson 37 of nightbringer where *spoiler* the brothers get imprisoned in a area designated to the crime they committed in the celetial relm.

So for example, lucifers goes almost all the way up his arm because of his crime against his father (being the worst crime of all), while belphies goes to the wrist for (some reason I forgot) for being less severe. Simeon has them too but the only reach his fingertips, it's why he always wears gloves.

Technically speaking Satan shouldnt have the marks since he was born a demon, but since he was kinda a extention of lucifers sin of wrath, lucifer split some of his mark with him, which is why lucifers mark dosent actually go past his arm.

Falling asleep in one of the House of Lamentation's common rooms can be a gamble. At best, somebody kindly carries you back to your room and tucks you in. Or maybe they leave you where you were, but drape a jacket or blanket over you.

Sometimes they go overboard, and you wake up with too many blankets. It's sweltering hot and excessively heavy. You thought the brothers were just being supportive in a weird way until Mammon accidentally revealed everyone is trying to break the record of 23 blankets and three duvets.

Sometimes you wake up with a full manicure and facial in progress. Asmo likes the practice.

Sometimes you wake up wearing Lucifer's reading glasses or Mammon's sunglasses. The Anti-Lucifer League must have thought you make a good hiding spot.

Sometimes you wake up with fresh food next to you. Particularly if you fell asleep near mealtime. The strong smell of Devildom cuisine rouses you awake, and you catch Beel trying to tip-toe away.

Sometimes you find... offerings. Bottled tea, or sticker sheets, or a coin placed on your cheek. Levi started taking pictures and in thanks decided to make a shrine dedicated to his idol (you).

Sometimes they draw on your face. The first person to do so will leave a marker for anyone else who happens to feel creative. You've woken up with whiskers, a mustache, fake eyes drawn over your eyelids, money signs drawn on your eyelids, swirls and hearts, a goatee, a big unibrow, and you're pretty sure the twins are the culprits behind a game of tic-tac-toe.

Sometimes you get notes. Simple reminders, or a notice that Lucifer's left the house so please make sure to check that everyone's behaving when you wake up. Occasionally you wake up completely covered in post-its with silly messages.

Sometimes you get kisses. They leave no trace, unless their sender gets carried away and sticks around.

I don't really get all the hate for Nightbringer. Yeah it's not perfect but its not like the original Obey Me is a masterpiece. Like, it's crazy to me that people complain about Solmare being greedy and putting bare minimum effort into the game so often. It's always been a corporate gacha game. It still isn't the worst on the market by a long shot shot, even if it isn't the best. Some of my favorite events have been in NB.

Also it makes sense for the characters to be a bit out of character in NB because I'm willing to bet that things change about a person in 5000 years. (pretty sure it was said somewhere that the celestial war was approx. 5000 years before the original canon though I could be wrong) Even if the continuity errors are a bit annoying, it's not that bad and it could be a LOT worse.

OKAY SO I HAVEN'T JOINED OBEY ME TUMBLR AND (while that's a crime) I'M GONNA DROP A LINK TO MY FIC ANYWAY

It's a poly fic staring MC and the seven brothers (maybe more in the future) but instead of the kind of secretive affection giving the game has you do, I wanted to see what would happen if MC was straight up about their feelings for *all* of them, since when I started writing it I remember not seeing a lot of fics showing the actual growing pains involved with a relationship that interesting and intense :o

This is my first OM fic, and I've been writing it long enough to see the changes between earlier chapters and the most recent one I published not too long ago.
