Sem Break Diaries

As you may all know, UST students are still enjoying their sem break right now. And as a graduating student, this is actually my last sem break. So here’s what I have been up to lately, the past few weeks.

My thesis group and I had a late celebration of successfully finishing our project at Vikings SM North EDSA. Who knew we would survive eating for 3 straight hours? This buffet is definitely long over due and I’m so glad we were able to push through with it.

I enjoyed going around the new Landmark in Trinoma. I found so many nice dresses which I could wear for our upcoming Grad Picture. 

Bowling with the squad. After enrollment, my classmates and I decided to go to SM North to enjoy a nice game of bowling. At first, everyone was nervous because no one knew a thing about bowling. But in the end, everyone had a great laugh and enjoyed the 2 games of bowling. 

After months of waiting, I finally had the chance to taste the oh-so famous Rita’s. My sister decided to treat Renz and I to a cup, because of the weather. I ended up ordering Cherry Ice with Vanilla-Chocolate Custard. Personally, I hated the custard. If I only knew, I would’ve just gone for the Cherry Ice. 

Being around BGC is always so picture-worthy. I always enjoy going around High Street with my sisters. Thank you to my sister for this perfect OOTD ✨

Books are so beautiful. I’ve been so in love with books lately and surprisingly, I’m at my 3rd book for the year already. I am currently reading the pink one, “The Probability of Miracles” by Wendy Wunder. 

So, that’s about it. I’m on my last week of Sem Break and honestly, I can’t wait to start my last semester, ever!

Looking Back @ 2015

Well, I’m back. I haven’t blogged in ages and I guess I just miss it. I’m not keeping any promises but I do hope I get to blog more this 2016. 

Finally saying good bye to 2015. It was a year full of changes. I’m glad it’s over but I will surely remember it. So much has happened the past 12 months such as

Turned 21

Worked at Security Bank for my internship

Gained new friends

Lost a few

Became our Org’s Treasurer

Ate a lot (oops)

Went to different places

STRUGGLED to finish our Software Engineering project

STRUGGLED a lot more to finish our Thesis

FINALLY survived my 1st Semester as a Senior

Yeah, I guess you could say my 2015 revolved around my school life. But with internship and thesis being over, it was definitely all worth it. Now I’m just waiting for my last semester as a college student to start. (Wow I can’t believe I’m finally allowed to say that).

I guess that’s about it. I am more than excited to celebrate more happiness & love this 2016  ❤️

Good Start

I successfully started the first day of the sem on a very positive note! I finally got rid of my first day jitters and ended up smiling and laughing the whole day. So basically my day went like this:

Did the usual morning routine by meeting up with my block mates in the Engineering Pavs outside our building.

Described myself as "Polite Pam" in our Marriage & Family class.

Laughed so much with all the adjectives my classmates used in describing themselves. 

CISCO looking good with our first meeting with Ma'am Balais.

Talked about EVERYTHING with my friends. And I mean everything from tarantula breeds to OJT. 

Enjoyed lunch and trying out Hershey's Hugs for the first time.

Going to SM San Lazaro on the first day back for 1x1 pictures is starting to become a tradition for our barkada.

Coffee and good kwentuhan (& productive possible thesis topic discussion?) at Starbucks.

Realized that I have the most thoughtful friends in the world ♥

Had a good afternoon nap

And now, I am currently on the last episode of OUAT Season 3

It was definitely a good day! To many more days like this :)

Happy New Year!!!! I love the promise of a new beginning that the new year brings. I am so ready to be the best version of myself this 2015! 

So here is my short list of resolutions. Hopefully, I can accomplish most (if not all) of my resolutions this year.

Attend mass every Sunday

Stop procrastinating

Eat healthier and exercise weekly

Less social media time

Master playing my uke

Manage my money wisely

Travel more

Love more

Get rid of all the negative feeling / vibes

Be genuinely happy 

May I keep these resolutions in my mind and heart all throughout the year. And to those who have their own resolutions, good luck! Happy new year, everyone :)

Road Trip to Subic

It was the day after Christmas, we packed our (small) bags and drove off to Subic. My family decided to go on a road trip to Subic for the day and apparently, the whole Philippines thought of that too. Haha, so we got stuck in traffic and ended up having a 5-hour drive to Subic instead of the normal 2-3 hours.

It was worth it though! WE LOVE SUBIC. The view, the food and the shopping!

We all had such a great day even if we only ended up eating and going to the Duty Frees. See you again, Subic! Hopefully next time, we get to stay the night.

Paskuhan 2014

One of the best perks of being a Thomasian is definitely the yearly Paskuhan! Although this year was kind of different. Since UST adjusted its academic calendar, our sem break is now from mid November until the first week of January. Which means Paskuhan was scheduled in the middle of our sem break. What better way than to spend this lovely event reuniting and catching up with your closest and truest friends!

I got all excited and giddy a few days before the Paskuhan because I was very, very excited to see my friends again! It's been two weeks since I last saw them and I couldn't wait to spend Paskuhan with them :) 

At around 2PM, I met up with some of them at Starbucks P. Noval for our caffeine fix and quick catch up. At around 5PM, we finally decided to go inside the campus. Surprisingly, there was a quite long line in the P. Noval gate. 

Out of all the Paskuhan's I've been to, this was the funnest of them all. I had such great and fun company during that night. We couldn't stop laughing all throughout the night. On the other hand, it wasn't one of the best Paskuhan programs. I wasn't that happy with the lineup of performers and the sound system was definitely a mess. We couldn't appreciate the EDM and the music for the pyro show because of the low quality sound system. The beauty of the fireworks made up for it though ♥ I will always have a sweet spot for fireworks.

Paskuhan 2014 was definitely one Paskuhan I will never, ever forget :) Thank you so much to everyone I was with that night!

Always take pictures of the sky when it’s pretty, it probably won’t ever look like that again. Wear that skirt you like, even if you’re mom says it’s too short. Take off the dark eyeliner and nail polish once in a while, you’ll feel lighter. Chop off your hair if you want, it will grow back eventually. Count the freckles on your arms and draw lines between them, your skin is like the night shy. Sleep under six blankets with the fan on high in the middle of the winter, the sound is soothing. Tell that boy to stop touching your thigh, even if it is flattering. Say thank you and flash a smile when you’re sister says that you’re outfit is ugly. Raise your hand when you know the answer, even if the class is all upperclassmen. Read that book again, you’ll notice something you didn’t the first time. Don’t drink too much caffeine, you’ll get the jitters and bomb your math test. Wear pencils behind your ears, it’s convenient. Try to talk to people, it won’t kill you. When a cute boy tries to cheat off your test, write the wrong answers and change them later. It’s ok to feel happy, don’t let other peoples sadness make you feel bad.

Makati On My Mind

Sunday was family day and my sisters, nieces and I braved the "Signal #1" storm and went to Makati to attend mass at the Landmark chapel and do some last minute Christmas shopping. And do we regret going to the mall this time of the year. There were just too many people and it was actually impossible to not bump into someone every 5 minutes or so. That aside, we had an incredible Japanese lunch at Saboten, Glorietta 5.

Personally, I think Saboten tastes better than Yabu although Saboten is pricier. The restaurant was full so we were divided into 2 tables. The twins and their mom were in one and me and my 2 other sisters were in the other. Sweater weather OOTDs with my ates!

  After hours of walking around the mall, we had a short cupcakes and coffee break at Vanilla Cupcake Bakery. Their cupcakes, furniture, plates and decorations were so cute! That cup of hot choco was heaven sent! Literally! The wings are actually the handle.

It was a really good day but I am going to try avoiding the malls during this holiday season as much as possible, haha!

My 2014 Good Reads Reading Challenge

I am so proud of myself for being able to finish my Good Reads Reading Challenge yesterday! I set it to 20 books and at first I thought I wasn't going to finish it but with the number of books I read during my summer break, I reached it ;) Definitely going to do another Reading Challenge next year. Thinking about setting it to 25 or 30 books this time? Anyways, let me share the 20 books that I have read in 2014.

So basically, I read a lot of love stories and a few science and fantasy ones. The books that really stuck with me in 2014 were the Legend Trilogy and To All The Boys I've Loved Before. Legend definitely topping the list! It was such a great book and for me, it was even better than the Hunger Games and Divergent. I 100% recommend this trilogy to everyone who love dystopian love stories. To All The Boys I've Loved Before is my favorite Chick Lit for 2014. It was just so cute and very relatable. It makes me even happier knowing that there's going to be a sequel coming this 2015. 

Reading makes me so happy and I can't wait to discover more stories next year! :)

It has been such a long time since I last opened my personal blog and I guess sem break is the perfect time to keep it updated. So many things have happened in the past few months and I really want to write about them. I'm just trying to collect my thoughts and I guess I'll blog about them soon. 

For the mean time, I'm on my sem break and I believe I've been as productive as I can be. Haha, if productive means lots of reading, movie & TV series marathons. I'm currently reading Landline by Rainbow R. When I'm not busy burying my nose in my book, I am probably watching the Season 1 of Once Upon a Time. I am diagnosing myself with ADHD just because I can't seem to focus on watching OUAT for a long time. I easily get bored with what I'm doing / watching and end up going online instead. Hehe, I shall try my best to finish this series before the break ends. 

It's December 1st and I am so excited! I feel like December is the happiest month of the year, aside from it being Christmas and New Year's. First of all, PASKUHAN. YAAAAS! UST lights + Friends + Concert + Fireworks = Best combination ever. Of course, anniv is coming up and we're turning 5 this year. Family reunions, food and cold nights are some of the other things that make this month the best. So exciting!

Okay, excited to be "active" again and I hope I stay active for a long time. Bye!

THIRD YEAR

Junior year: Subjects are getting harder and professors are becoming unbearable.

A few weeks ago, our Art Appreciation prof assigned our class to perform Les Miserables for him IN A WEEK. I guess we pulled it off? 

I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing on my Data Struct class.

I HAVE NO WORDS FOR DATABASE.

Finally started on our last lab experiment for Electronics.

Our Art App prof wants us to dance ballet on Wednesday... Les Miserable was okay but, ballet?! 

The only thing that is keeping 3IT-A sane is our Social Teachings class.
