So I stumbled upon a wonderful au for Yandere Madness Combat, and wanted to present a different path of how things could've went down.
Devoted, of course, as a love letter to @saltymongoose 's beloved Au!
- So, Auditor kidnaps you as you sleep, as per usual. However, this time, due to the highly unstable technology being used, there is an issue. Said issue causes Auditor to let go of you while traveling back to Nevada.
- Okay so maybe it's actually a big issue.
- Auditor is high key freaking out. He had finally, finally got you in his grasp. Could finally spend time with his deity, and then he lets go of you. Both he and the employers are distraught, and naturally, incredibly violent.
- Somehow, he manages to channel his rage into something more productive, sending out many, many forces of his to track you down. Production on posters already being worked on in the midst of the Employer's tears.
- And now enters you, poor, little you. Stranded in a place where the sky is red. In Nevada. You wake up shaking, cold and along. No allies to be found- oh wait, there's your player character!
- You were a bit, well, hesitant, to put it mildly. You had just woken up in a very unfortunate place with nothing but the pyjamas on your body. Not to mention how you were clearly still human. Not exactly the best situation to be in.
- But hey! This was your player character over there, if there was any one you could ally with it'd be them. And it turns out, well, yeah! You were right. They recognise your divine presence immediately, and pledge themselves to help you.
- Great! But your player character expresses that you should stay secret. A being like you had never graced Nevada before. You were likely to be shot on sight, or worse, captured and experimented. Your character didn't even want to risk introducing you to Hank, Doc or the pair of Sanford and Deimos. It was almost like they had a small grudge.
- It was weird, but they had great points, so you accepted their terms. They escorted you back to HQ, and gave you a room to hide in. It was rather difficult, but they managed.
- What wasn't managable however, was the actions of the four. They could tell that the previous warmth on your player character had long since faded, and were scrambling to find your next vessel.
- Doc had been calling your vessel in for more and more check ups, thinly veiled attempts to try and seek out the lost warmth. Doc hid it well, but your character could see his clenched fists.
- Hank had developed a habit of following your character around. Just staring, from a distance. When he wasn't slaughtering on missions that is.
- And oh, Sanford and Deimos. Their gazes clutched onto them when they were nearby. Deimos had already asked several times when they thought you were coming back, anger coating his brow. Sanford calmed him down, but your character wasn't stupid enough to miss the darkness lingering in his gaze too.
- Your vessel did what they could, providing to you inbetween missions both necessities and research materials. They did research on their own too, hoping to get you back before anyone could notice. Truly, they worked hard, navigating the frayed nerves of the four.
- Unfortunately, prying eyes had been much more focused on your vessels behaviour than usual recently. Doc wasn't oblivious to your character sneaking meals out, and the others accompanied your vessel enough on missions to tell when they were looking for something.
- In hindsight, it didn't take them long at all to find you.
- Just long enough, for you to get comfortable.
