I glanced towards the wistful girl that sat beside me. My eyes followed the delicate strands of raven hair as they danced in the breeze around her shoulders. I wondered how I had gotten here. When had fate decided to place this beautiful being beside me? I took in her strong frame covered in a baby blue, lace dress that left her shoulders bare and lazily pooled around her knees as she rested next to me. Her gray eyes gazed up at the sky, her head tilted as she discerned the clouds’ shapes. I could hear fate chuckling at my misfortune. Judgement day had come after all. I shook my head. What was I supposed to say to this girl? How does one begin a conversation with someone they appeared next to? She finally turned to me, allowing me to see into those gray storm clouds of her’s. This girl’s soul resembled an elegant butterfly, fluttering in the breeze and unaware of the world’s cruelty. 

      “Who are you?” A precious melody drifted through the air. 

      “I don’t really know anymore,” I said truthfully.

Grass Grass is all I see I look up at the sky and listen as the wind blows around me, Gently lifting my hair off my shoulders I sit here and look around All I see is grass for miles and for some reason It calms me down I sit like this for hours on my beloved hill, watching the grass dance as the wind softly blows The peace in it all embracing me, Beckoning me to be free

You laugh. You cry. You tell me about your pain. And yet you never ask if I am okay. Never wonder about my suffering. About the mask that's cracking. Barely surviving.

I scream and beat on the walls and yet you fail to hear me. You ignore my pain in order to feel your bliss. You forget about my problems in order to forget about yours. Ignorance is your best friend and reality is left in the dust. Tears kiss my cheeks so often it becomes routine, the feeling in my stomach becomes normal, and the pain never goes away. Dark thoughts constantly thrash in my head and yet, you think I'm okay. More often than not I lock myself away so no one sees my tears and yet, you think I'm happy. Each time you go my "See you later" gets quieter and yet, you think I'm fine with you leaving. Silent pleads are sent your way and yet, you think they are looks of annoyance. I think of everything I could say and yet, I know it won't be enough. It'll never be enough.
