Just finished "Ice Planet Barbarians" by Ruby Dixon. This is the first book in a long series of LOTS of beautiful blue aliens! Now heads up, this book is not going to be everyone's cup of tea. It is spicy and "different" as the couples consist of 7 foot blue aliens with tails, so be warned. Now, this author is a great writer! I was instantly drawn into this story and the writing. The characters are amazing and the relationship growth was so fun to read. I can't wait to continue this series and read more about these hot blue aliens and their mates!

Just finished this amazing retelling of Peter Pan by Nikki St. Crowe. Now, I have seen people with very mixed reviews on this book and this book is not for the faint of heart and has several trigger warnings, so be warned. I honestly really enjoyed it! This book has flawless pacing and grabs you right from the beginning… I was HOOKED! 😁 Of course my favorite part were all the Lost Boys. The author did a great job at making each one so different. Each character is crafted with such depth and complexity that they felt real and tangible. I love the length of these short-er books and the constant twists!

I truly enjoyed this novel! Victoria Aveyard's "Red Queen" plunges readers into such an incredable dystopian world where the divide between the elite Silvers and the oppressed Reds. From the very first page, I was captivated by the power struggles and the lies that control every aspect of this horrifying society.
One of my favorites parts of "Red Queen" is the love triangle that develops between the main characters. Mare finds herself stuck between her feelings for two brothers, one he is engaged to, and the other who she is drawn to.
What truly sets "Red Queen" apart is Aveyard's ability to keep readers guessing until the very end (though I will say... I saw it coming!) The twists and turns of the plot kept me on the edge of my seat.
Overall, "Red Queen" is a wonderful dystopian novel that will appeal to YA, dystopian and romance fans. With a spicy rating of ONE, this is a great book for teens and adults alike!

I eagerly anticipated this book after reading the first book a week ago, "What Hunts Inside the Shadows" by Harper L. Woods was a fun read, but missed the mark just a bit for me.
This book feels like a regression from the first book in the series in my opinion. The mate bond, once a crutch, now dominates the plot, overshadowing a lot of the potential development of these characters. I love Caelum's passion for Estrella, but disliked how Estrella's love seemed so dim and boring. I also found the fact that Estrella couldn't grow past her victim mentality. She felt so weak, even as her powers grew.
Beyond the abundance of explicit content within the woods, I felt like this story did not progress.
In essence, "What Hunts Inside the Shadows" is a disappointing sequel, lacking depth and substance. It fails to deliver unfortunately.

King of Battle and Blood by Scarlett St. Clair
I just finished the amazing book King of Battle and Blood by Scarlett St. Clair and can i just say… wow. First, I LOVE the character Isolde, our fearless female protagonist! This woman is not weak! She is powerful, cunning, determined and resilient. She is a woman who knows her own mind and can fight for herself and those she loves. When she meets Adrian (umm our book boyfriend dream), she maintains her defiance resulting in this amazing slow-burn romance! Scarlett St. Clair's writing is masterful and I can't wait to continue this story.
