I had a silly thought to pick out villagers for each crew member. There's so many characters but I tried looking really hard at their personalities, hobbies, and room themes (etcetera). I gave everyone a horse and a star/space animal. I die on the hill that Jimmy's favorite character is curly the pig lmao.

So I tried making a transcript of the knock off moblie game. I left whatever typo was in the game to stay as true as possible. I also couldn't get the ending of the game so I am missing some text.

The next tragic story, will take place in outter space,

The mysteries surrounding the mouthwashing shipment transported by a miserable space crew will ome to light…

From now on, everything is to be expected.

Captain: ohh… while i appreciate the thought, our current situation is not forgiving enough to let us enjoy any kind of celebrations, lets postpone this racket until we land back home, now excuse i gotta be in the control room to make sure we get back to our planet safely. Everyone back to their posts NOW.

Jim Co-Pilot: see? Told you guys that this one was never suited to lead a pack of sheep, let alone being captain of a spaceship…. Uhh im out as well before i take it out on somene here.

Go make a tour on the ship and see if anything is missing or anyone slacking on their work, then go back to the work on the main control room

The captain has gone crazy and ruined the control room causing the spaceship to crash, go check on the rest of the crew.

You are playing as jim the co-pilot, assemble the crew and assume the captain’s responsibilities from now on.

Jim Co-Pilot: after the suicidal crap our beloved maniac capatin got us into, now its up to us to clean after his mess, therefore me being the co-pilot on this ship i will asume the captain role, from now on every minor stepo you take you will have to go through me first. Everyone here update me on our current situation.

Shinsuke: The food storage is a loss cause, its completely destroyed with no possible way to recover it, ive looked around for any alternatives but… im sorry to say that we currently have nothing to feed on for the next coming days.. Or months….

Swanz: that stupid captain planned to take us all down with him, WHERE IS HE NOW? I’ll make sure to fulfill his wish in the most horrible way, way beyond any of y’all can think of…

Nurse: calm down SWANZ, i tried to treat him after the crash… he is now in a state worse than death, with no painkillers to calm his pain, since the nurse office’s med supplies have all been obliterated during the crash… just forget about him and let him atone for what he did while waiting painfully for hi death… he does not have much time anyway.

Jim Co-Pilot: Now everyone here focus on your given duties, I will tolerate no mistakes, Securing food supply is our top priority, with the food storage obliterated we wont last long before we say good bye to our worthless lives because of starvation. I will inspect every part of the ship to look for any miracle to deal with this situation. NOW EVERYONE HERE MOVE IT!!

Go find shinsuke to come up with a plan to survive this predicament.

Shinsuke: None of us knew what we were risking our lives to transport from outer space, I believe its time we uncover what we’re carrying with us, hopefully we find some food…. After your permission ofc captain. We’ll need a sturdy AXE or something as tough to crack this one up. Btw i’ve seen an AXE somewhere on the steel passage upstairs, that’ll help.

Nurse: This is no regular mouthwashing botlle, it has indeed a small percentage of sugar along with an interesting amount of ethanol, these wont be of any help to use in order to survive starvation. But what worries me the most is the other chemicals mixed into this solution, when taking even a quarter cup of this solution, it can cause various unpredicted changes to human brain, i say we get rid of these right now CAPTAIN before anyone starts to have any funny ideas.

Swans: Dispose of it? HAHAHAA on my dead body, in our worst days where we’re doing nothing but sucking our thumbs and waiting for either death by crash or starvation, you want us to miss the opportunity to get wasted on some ethanol hahaha GOD this is a blessing im definitling drinking every drip of this until i forget half my name. And btw i love how that Shinsuke kid leaped to the office room like campanazee as soon as he heard ethanol, that BOY definitely gets it hahahahahahaha.

Break the roam beside you using the axe to grab the pistol + flashlight uv light, use them all to defend yourself, the crew member got zombified after drinking that suspicious mouthwash, then make your way to the nurse office upstairs, to rescue the wounded captain.

Carry the wounded captain safely to the escape capsule, and beware of the infected crew members, fend them off when necessary, but it would be wiser to avoid them

Jim Co-Pilot: During these desperate moments, i finally got to understand the stress you been dealing with during this endless space trip, with the worst kind of crew memebers, including me haha but i finally realized that you were too good for this crew captain…

Dont worry captain, this emergency capsule is programmed to make way straight back to earth, the success percentage is… um you better off not knowing. Just try to hold on and dont bite the dust before you reach our home planet. If you believe in gho (This is where I can't find the rest of the game even if im missing only a few words)

This is the fucking discussions I live for. Orion was not the greatest name choice. Curly wasn't designed as an Orion, he was designed as a Grant.

So perfectly said, the game was written beautifully but this name falls completely flat. Now we're waiting for whatever cringe names their going to give the other characters.

It's a bitter pill to swallow but they will never listen to fans or their reasoning for naming the characters the way fans did. And it hurts to hear that. Not all game developers pay much attention to the love and care fans have for a project and its reasonable, fans can get very out of hand.

But I also can't stand that they won't tell us THEIR reasoning other than 'oh Grant was just a place holder' No, I want to hear the real truth of this decision because it feels incredibly lazy and dare I say amateurish. Gives the feeling of a edgy 13 year old who just found behindthenames.com for the first time. Call me 'original the character, do not steal' ass name.

But it does make good fuel for Jimmy to bully him so that's one extremely tiny upside to it.

I think you raise a very good point about Orion being really surface level, because truly, what the hell is even that. I would've been fine with every other variant be it Cole or Curt or any other popular headcanon. But Orion... It feels like a way too ham-fisted of a metaphor (if you could even call it that) when the game itself had already a clever and graceful way of implementing them. For god's sake 'Curly' was already a metaphor, with the Laika dog reference, why do we need a space themed name too??? It's like if Jimmy was named something like Jimmy Evilton.

Just call him Orion Burning-man-spaceship then.

Like I'm not mad. I'm just disappointed.

YES! Thank you! I feel like choosing Orion was a really... lazy choice. There are so many other names that would have fit better. I don't really see Curly with the skill and strength of a hunter, nor do I agree with the idea that he is a "warrior". You could comb through other mythologies and the spiritual significance in cultures if you WANTED to do that, I guess, but it really seems like it was an easy, surface level space name where the expectation was for fans to either read far too much into it or blindly accept it as it was.

The problem is when you READ TOO MUCH into Orion, the less it makes sense. I mean, base-level Orion was punished by Gaia for his arrogance and threats to hunt every being on earth, and don't even get me started on Hesiod's version of Orion, Oenopion and Merope.

There were much better choices if, for ARGUMENTS SAKE, they were dead set on using space names- specifically constellations. Cepheus was my first thought (here). Another is Castor (second brightest star in Gemini), which would have been an interesting and COMPELLING choice.

There is also a lot of available information on "space names" based on spiritual significance, as well as some with historical origins.

TLDR "Orion" feels half-baked. It didn't have to be so blatant, and it's a little disappointing considering the strength of the source media. That's all.
