Many thanks for the great interview 💛 !
1.) How do you get inspired for your work?
I mainly get inspired by spending time in woods. I love all the varied leaf shapes and tree bark textures, the wildlife - birds, deer, foxes etc. I love wildlife - it's been important to me all my life. I enjoy escaping into the detail in my drawings and in the natural environment. Night scenes with the full or crescent moon I find particularly atmospheric. Dusk and night time are times when things can appear more magical.
2.) Approximately how long do you need for a work of yours?
The time I need for an 'altered book' is about a week at least if I can spend a few hours a day working on one. Usually I don't have that much time to spare on doing one, so it takes longer. A zine takes longer. I can spend days or weeks thinking about and writing the text. Then it takes me three or four weeks to do the artwork because I think about it a lot and rework art sometimes.
