Then this is for posterity as well
but mostly anger
Cleared the 2nd Episode of Umineko. It took about the same amount of time as far as days are concerned. here's the time if you even care.
I have plenty but also nothing at all to say on it. mostly in regards to the murders within. so ill keep everything else as brief as i can
I really like the Furniture scenes. Jessica & Kanon's romance is the kind that I like a lot. whatever that means cause I sure don't know. similar compliments both his and Shannon's encounters with the Witch. the rest is hard to communicate for me so whatever
The fight scenes are appreciated, although this is a sound novel foremost so I'm not sure why I was expecting Witch on the Holy Night. very silly, very shamful.
Rosa is Rosa. comfortably occupying that position of characters I hate while also not hating, in spite of how she is. Nice to see whoever gets the gun gets character development all the same.
The Text is also Red now. which beats shotgun scrabble any day of the week. but it has its caveats... maybe
Marisa Kirisame
spoilers. for most maybe, for you maybe not.
Mostly the Difficulty
ouch. My personal opinion is that 1st's Standard was for the Reader since the main cast don't bother trying, so the solutions have to be easy. The 2nd's Extreme is for both Battler and the Reader since Beato isn't fuckin around and the Real Game has really started.
it really shows. I had a hard time until about the end, in which i maybe figured it out. so, to you i grant semi-unrestrained thoughts on it.
im sorry. (this isnt in red)
ok so, Servant room murder is basically impossible because they wont tell you what the 'Kanon' was actually, this makes it hard to figured out what even happened in the first place but that's besides the point. the real point is when Beato is breaking down Battler and is going over the 2nd twilight where she counts Jessica's corpse as one of the inhabitants of the room, leading to her softly accusing her of murder enabling Battler to spiral further. this set off alarms in my skull because in my own Beato infused fugue state I confused it for Jessica's corpse being the killer themselves. and i couldn't tell you if this works but it also might apply to the final room where they are pretending to be Shannon's corpse. the problem arises because Beato said Jessica's Corpse, yea like that. so is it still her corpse or is it just an obfuscation by Beto because she isn't lying, but what if its only Marisas because everyone views it as such so therefore it isn't a lie. much in the same way the Fight scenes are "real" it is only a truth being fed to you, YOU by the Witch.
tldr Beatrice=both corpses. the time gap allows this. not sure about servant room murder because imagine making sense
that's all I've got, there's a thunder storm outside, I'm going to bed

This is for posterity
but mostly for me I guess.
Cleared the 1st episode of Umineko.
I was thinking I'd be in the 1st one for a month but nope finished it in record time (like 10 days, its a record for me ok?) . I assume that it will only get longer, but I think people have a tendency to exaggerate the length of the VN medium. Like Fate/Stay Night fine, you just have to pace yourself, I know that I do.
Digressing
I think the mystery is compelling for the 1st one at least it does a good job of creating an oppressive atmosphere. Battler is cool! feels very different to the other Mystery protags I've read from. Or maybe that's just an indication of my personal taste in Mystery novels. (Read Zaregoto/Tsukumojuku or something idk)
I found the mystery of a 19th person strange since I see that 19th persons face every time I close the game.
(yes the entire banner had to be here!!!)
But I'm starting to think Beatrice's "poster girl status" is more of a ruse after the ??? tea party. This is also considering that a person who needs reviving cant really even kill people in the first place.
One of the more interesting parts is how it presents you with what other characters are doing & then accuses them of murder. of course they're innocent but its also impossible to improve. same goes for the closed rooms which as an idea exist to be solved but the existence of the witch makes the possible scenario impossible.
there's probably more here but my only actual guess to the plot is that Beatrice is one of Kinzo's orphans that he has laying around. Other than that I like the character profiles changing around, I wish more vn's had "unnecessary" things like that. Like Stay Night has those & Stay Night kicks ass! granted they haven't thrown anything at me that will require usage of the tips yet but I'm waiting for it...
at any point during Episode 2, Beatrice will be launched into a barrel & I'll be forced to play a bad minigame like Scrabble using that Winchester...
#umineko when they cry#umineko#umineko no naku koro ni#im probably very wrong with my guesses#Legend of the Golden Witch

UnderTale, Under... Tale, undertale.
Sans used to be my favorite Undertale character. I always wanted to be good enough at video games to fight him. I'm still not.
I've only ever played Undertale twice. this is of course a lie. I just cant get past Undyne. I was stuck like that for 4 (3?) years. I even managed to beat Jevil in less time (I think).
Recently I just gave up. did that thing that you're "supposed" to. Decided to give it one last time Dance. Play through the Pacifist Track, like way back when in 2015. Give everything a happy ending.
Yippe!!!

I think it would be pretentious but accurate to say that I wasn't playing it for me. I had the idea the Save everyone then murder everyone & then Save them again, because I was real sentimental.
even had that one guide lined up to undo it all. the me of the past was really something. (yea, real unrealistic doesn't even know what a fun value is)
So with Second round I thought that I could finally figure out how Fun values work. Like talk to the clam about Suzy, get the Sad old man Gaster door, hash out unformed opinions on characters.
and I did all of those things pretty simply too. I finally did the Phone calls also.
Those Phone calls are the best part actually. I couldn't imagine why I never used the phone in the past. And yet I still bothered to the break the economy just so I could get the Tem armor because I couldn't beat Asgore back then. nice job jackass.
it just feels like I got to really feel out the cast way better than the me of the past ever got to.
Like ALPHYS GRAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
needless to say she's the sleeper hit of the game for me. Sansisabumactually.
oh yea I also got over hating toriel too because that was an opinion back in the day. we all have bad opinions sometimes.
the real moral of the story(tale) is that people do evil things with for a reason. whether if its love for their children, or subjects, or dogs.
I feel like I could keep going but nah I'm good. I might be having a hard time communicating my feelings about this. especially after getting through the game for, what I would consider the last time. It gave it a certain weight.
maybe in like another decade or something.
besides its not like anybody needs me to tell them what they already know. not this late in the game.
I really just did this for me.
but that's about it.
#Undertale#I'm just rambling#Undertale the video game?????#it feels strange to put character names down here#I really liked Paps & Undynes phone dialogue#really wish we got that with Sans & Alphys

The final set of these. And, again, their exact provenance remains a mystery....

Kazuma Kaneko "Creature Features", Part One
Here are some higher-resolution versions of the Kaneko monster/urban legend columns (compare to decade-old versions) sometimes referred to as his "Creature Features." But that's just a fan-made moniker; Truth is, it's unclear where exactly these columns were originally from. They were reprinted in Digital Devil Apocalypse, where these scans seem to be from, and DDA says they originate in ゲーム批評 (”Game Criticism”) magazine, which you may remember from an older post giving a rundown of Kaneko's columns in all the issues of it available on archive.org. But not a single one of those uploads contains a "Creature Feature," so I'm puzzled: Either they are in other, unarchived issues of Game Criticism or the editor of DDA was wrong and they have some other provenance. But, either way, what we do have through DDA is fun and fascinating! There's 24 in total.

My Requiem is about to Vengeance
Recently finished Gundam: Requiem for a Vengeance a show that I thought would be some variety of a nice in between 00 & the next Gundam show that I wanted to watch. That show was until recently 95's Gundam Wing, if you even care.
That show is now Gquuuuuux.
Well if you some how found your way down here and didn't read the sign, this is Waste disposal, so I'm inclined to do whatever the hell I want. Like not finish talking about 00 ever, forever, for all time.
if you even care, all it achieved was convincing me that I am even more easily impressed than I would have originally thought.
like a solid 8/10, yea I don't think I'll ever change that.
oh yea Requiem...
pic related for realizes
Well I learned that it was made in Unreal Engine 5 a minute before starting, already a good sign.
ok that's kind of cheating it looks fine, it's just the people that look strange & like fallout 4 npc's. I've never played fallout.
The mechs are where its at though. They do a good job with the on the ground combat perspective & I like that the Gundam is treated as a horrifying beast until the last episode.
the whole show just falls apart when it comes to pacing itself. I haven't written a day in my life so you can trust me. I think they should have just kept it as just one long chase seen, instead of stopping in one place & then doing the GM side quest. which really only existed to introduce the Kid (the reveal was ok I guess).
The Ending might as well have been a text crawl too. not really anything of substance to its themes either. I can at least compliment it for sort of being the better version of "Revenge bad".
[Transition]
I'm only watching Gquuuuuux because it is currently releasing. Would have done the same with G-Witch, but I traded it out for finishing SEED. never have to do it again at least.
what do you mean they made another SEED?
Speaking to my own preferences Gquuuuuux has the potential to be the greatest thing ever made ever, forever, for all time.
or I could also intrinsically link it to online discussion thus permanently sullying my image of it. but that's neither here nor there.
but that's about it.
go home

[00Gundam losingmymind-losingmysoul]
The journey continues, somehow
Rest assured the title is heavy dramatization & not at all real. The only pressing issue is that I no longer like Allelujah, friendship ended you fictional bastard.
Tieria at least has crazy space people adventures(finally)
Largely speaking though my problems are few & far between. so of course I'm gonna overblow them to hell & back.
one of my few strong points
(The imagery of the closing is pretty cool though)
now that I'm a fair (8eps) way through s2 & Allelujahs arc is more or less wrapped up until the endgame, I can say for certain that it's length is the only strong point for me. It doesn't overstay it's welcome & wind up just being nothing fights for 24 episodes ending in a very obvious death with all the grace of that one guy from Ideon who got a whole episode for himself before he died. None the less it still plays out very obviously, & ends as expected with a half assed kiss that, if i'm being real, will be the last thing Soma ever does.
(Overblowing remember)
On that note of overblowing the even more minor issue is the lack of public response to the world government having a "Peacekeeping organization". The situation that was Celestial Being made the rest of the world being feel alive with all those news reports & what not & now it just isnt there anymore (unless I'm just missing something). The only time such wordly matters get taken note of is the dissolution of Azadistan & Ali Al-Saachez doing the thing.
On the subject on that guy, he's crazy & should be dead but if his character for s2 is just gonna be finishing peoples sentences & being crazy, I guess I'm fine with that.
Same thing goes for that guy who looks to much like Lockon. & the rest of the crew but the issue with them more so lies with everything going back to working order way to easily. I dont want it to take 24eps or anything like that. In the very least the crazy Gundam space people are finally doing something.
Really it's the most interesting thing by a landslide.
That & just about everything that I forgot to mention.
How could forget such important things?
Brain wave. Always have. Always will.
Certainly I can't stress that enough.

[In Regards to 00 Gundam ??????????????????????]
Thanks for nothin
But if I'm being realistic I still enjoyed the show, much to my own chagrin.
everything just falls neatly into place in a way that only I can like.
they even killed em all How shocking! After I just said the exact opposite
Dare I say, I want to watch the next season?
Maybe Probably
Might just watch Seed 2
The morale of the story is that I find it really impressive that in every Gundam I've watched (Ideon included) tend to lean into complete insanity when it comes to the finale.
This is of course only the first season & it didnt take the writers long to spoil every thing that change in the time skip, which looks like a more standard Gundam affair.
Never the less, twas fun as they say
but thats about it
#00 gundam#gundam#mobile suit gundam#anime and manga#they died anyway!#& then the season finale was like whoa!!#tumbling down

[In Regards to 00 Gundam ??-??]
Unfortunately I have nothing to say in regards to the arc that takes place in the fake(real) country Azadistan. But I can however say that it was better than most of the episodes in Lupin III where the gang goes to a fake 3rd world country & or America.
I just want to talk about the Trinity kids & how much I hate them.
I do not like them & wish to see them all die in an even & spectacular fashion.
It's honestly impressive how much I hate & ive got to hand it to the writers for doing a much better job with them than the late game seed antagonists who are just there to get jobbed to death by Yzak
He's so Rad.
But it should also be noted that I didn't like how they used the Le Creuset Team either, they just felt to much like an excuse to have a fight scene or end of ep cliffhanger.
Still I cant really recall the last time I felt the need to stand up & shout over fictional characters.
maybe Gije from Ideon... Naaaa
He's still very rad of course.
The only other thing to take note of is that Saji might become some sort of hellish vehicle for the writers need to kill em all without killing off any main characters & I for one hope that doesn't happen because I prefer the down to earthedness of his character & so on & so fourth
Aren't I smart.
Any how I sure do hope they kill off the Trinity kids Now that would be rad.

Persona 6(Not really)
I'm never gonna get a chance to put this anywhere else(Lie) so I might as well shout it off into the void of space & die laughing.
The Tower of Babel exists as a connecting point between the Damned Future & the Ever Decaying Present. This fact is only ever made obvious at certain points in time. It has been exactly 9 years since it's construction upon the time of You're Creation Genesis Arrival.
You have been sent here by your parents to live out of your long dead Uncle's for the next year. It (The Year) wont be an eventful one the only remotely interesting thing being the Giant Tower in the center of the city
Like a Nail Pinning down a Dead God
Never the less You are certain nothing of worth will happen & You will glide aimlessly into the future
You will be Forgotten/Have a Nice Life/Subject thy self to the raging tempest of time/Become an ■■■■■ of the Planet & so on & so forth

[In Regards to 00 Gundam 5-10-ish]

Look at this guy, he's in pog form!
Anyway a very special shoutout to circumstances that cause the main characters to almost screw themselves over due to personal baggage/Trauma
As that is mostly what happens over the course of this chunk of episodes. of course leaving out all of the other all of the political tensions that happen as well
I'm just not very good at following that stuff, never have been. not to discredit or anything I just prefer character drama
don't worry I know the sky is blue, & the grass is green
one such example is character drama where the characters lose. which I for one was expecting Celestial being to not lose at all, at least not until S2.
I am however still very bothered that they all got away mostly unscathed
Like sure Allellujah gets away "just fine" but Tieria just get whatever the hell this is.
it's like they think their Neon Genesis Evangelion!!! I want Tieria to fall down a small flight of stairs <I mean this in a nice way>
otherwise a real stand out was the military tactics HRL was doing, they were pretty cool & I wasn't expecting that from Gundam of all places, unless of course I haven't been looking in the right places.
& one other special shout out goes to episode titles that are just character names, love that shit.
#mobile suit gundam#00 gundam#gundam#anime and manga#should I use individual character names#I feel like that would take to long#almost like trying to do what Im doing right now#or something

[In Regards to 00 Gundam 1-4]
It should be noted I don't really have a large amount of things to say about the first 4 episodes
& I swear that it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that Allelujah isn't really all that important for the episodes progression
really it's nothing like that... not at all!
Outside of that it sure is a Gundam show. I like to think that Sunrise is good at taking advantage of the current technology & what not to make a show look good for the most part.
I even liked the plot way so much more than I thought I would. I would have it would just be stupid, something closer to IBO 1.
I didn't very much care for IBO 1
I did however, very much like IBO 2
I can tell they put a lot of effort into making Celestial Being a very "World Event" kind of thing, all of the perspective changes really sell that fact too
Even if it's super obvious Celestial Being is Super Duper Evil! I just hope the writers can remedy that fact by ep.24 or else this will get really boring.
<I'm on episode 12 & they might have forgotten about, or the writers just don't think it's super obvious>
& one more thing, the closing theme Kicks Ass!
But that's about it.
