Satsuki loves to hear you talk. Any sleepy rambling is like an arrow directly in the heart, almost in agony from how adorable you were. He preferred letting you be the one to talk but if you prodded enough he’d give a rundown of his day, although you tended to spend your days together. He thinks his dreams are always more pleasant when you have a little chat before bed even if it’s something simple and quick like exchanging ‘I love yous’ and ‘I love you more’.

Kenta is gonna get that stream shut down. You can always tell when he’s messing with your tech because he has his own special ‘signature’ that you’ve begun to notice. Rather than talk about his feelings he’ll interrupt your streams or cause some chaos that leaves your viewers confused as you apologized to them. You’d normally get a hold of him as soon as you could, scolding him for his dramatics and saying if he wanted more attention then he should’ve just said so.  

You can tell he’s genuinely upset when he does talk to you, being curter than he normally is in your messages. There’s normal Kenta sass and then the level he gets when he’s actually upset with you, and being an expert, you learned to tell the difference. There’s not much you can say to tide him over and he does cut the conversation short, saying he doesn’t want to be bothered so you can return to your precious stream, but you’re determined to make it up to him.

Fitting him into your busy schedule a little bit more worked wonders, as did regularly messaging him to check in and see what he was up to. While dismissive and telling you that you didn’t have to be up his ass all day, you can tell he liked the attention he was being given. You promised to try harder with your work/life balance but you made him promise to actually talk to you when he’s having a problem, rather than messing with your stream to get your attention.

He figured your relationship would play itself out like it should and he’d admit his feelings when you admitted yours, and if he had to explain the reasons behind why it took so long to respond he’d respond with his honest feelings.

He's definitely the type to prefer silence before bed, wanting to just enjoy how it feels to be together rather than forcing words. He doesn’t mind if you have a topic you want to bring up but he generally doesn’t, ready to sleep and hoping you don’t blame him if he doesn’t entirely hear what you’re saying.

In all honesty Nayuta didn’t think much of you when you first met. It’s better than disliking you or finding you annoying, at least, but you constantly crossing his path is what made him finally notice you. Romance had never been at the forefront of his mind but he did find you attractive, and he couldn’t help that his thoughts started to lean in that direction when you actually started conversations with him. He still could’ve ruined the potential relationship by turning down your first date idea, which had never been outlined as a date but even someone with no experience like Nayuta could read between the lines, but he felt like there must be a reason he constantly saw you around so he took the chance.

26. ♥ What do they love most about their significant other?

He appreciated that you saw him as his own person, while respecting that he and his twin had a bond that made them inseparable. It might be easy for you to just assume they were carbon copies of each other, or to consider their relationship weird, and he would’ve moved on if that was the case. But you recognized their differences while complimenting their similarities, thinking their familial bond was something to be admired.

Nayuta expresses his love through his facial expressions, the smile on his face speaking more on his feelings than words ever could. There was a certain glow in his eyes when he looked at you, the fondness overwhelming, an instant tell that the two of you were dating. You were never mistaken as just friends when you were out together because there was no chance a friend would look at you like that.

Anne giggled a little at your request, asking if you really wanted to give it a try. They don’t deny you but don’t want to waste a cigarette in case you do end up coming to your senses, so they give you a taste of their own. They make a comment about it being an indirect kiss which has you nearly dropping it to the ground, trying to hold back their laughter at your embarrassment despite the many direct kisses you’ve shared.

Shion Kaida:

Shion thinks there’s a lot more fun stress-relieving things you could do with your mouth, but who was he to deny you? He’d pull out a cigarette and place it delicately between your lips, telling you to be patient as he leaned forward with his own cigarette to light yours. His eyes locked with yours as he got in close, his comment at the beginning of the conversation making another round through your brain and getting you flustered.

Yohei would not recommend them, and even tries to not give you one when you ask. If you’re persistent enough he’ll give in but he still thinks it’s a bad idea, especially if you devolve into a coughing fit. Hajun doesn’t mind doing it in semi-public places, depending on how many people are around at any time and how dark the room may be. A VIP section in a club might be the perfect place to tempt fate, hopefully not scarring someone trying to do their job, but it’s a special occasion sort of romp for him. He preferred the comfort of his own home as it’s where he felt most at ease, a haven for the two of you to indulge in your deepest desires without having to think of the outside world.

Ryoga’s not a huge tease unless the focus is purely on you or you have the time for extended foreplay, where he can touch you as much as he wants without fear of interruption. Itsuki stares at you with his normal, straightforward expression, just a hint of a frown on his face. You looked up at him with innocent eyes, your child mirroring your expression and giving a teary-eyed blink as they knew they were about to get scolded. He had always taken their health quite seriously but you had also told him before there was no harm in having a little fun, that as a parent you could make a few rules to make childhood more exciting.

“Go wash up honey, I’m gonna talk to daddy real quick.” You gently patted your child’s shoulders who nodded their head and hurried to the bathroom, humming the tune they used to make sure they spent enough time scrubbing soap into their hands before washing it off to really get rid of the germs. Itsuki had taught them that.

“…We’ve had this conversation before,” He responded coolly, turning back to the dinner waiting on the stove; he was stirring the soup in a slow, methodical manner, the best way to bring out the flavor of every ingredient he had put inside. “Do you not think I’m being fair?”

“I think it’s fair for you to worry about them, but having dessert before dinner isn’t that big a deal. We don’t do it every night! And they know it’s a treat, it’s not like we promised to do this from now until the day they move out or anything.” You drifted a little closer, wondering if he’d let you take a spoon and dip it inside; the side-eye he gave you told you to keep your spoon to yourself. “There’s worse things that could be happening to them.”

He knows the comment isn’t purposely aimed at him, as he wasn’t the only child to be in horrible conditions when they were younger. You were likely talking about kids with parents who didn’t love or care about their happiness, or kids that had been abandoned on the streets and only had each other to look up to. You weren’t thinking about kids being used as guinea pigs in science experiments, traumatized to the point they never saw a real future for themselves. The momentary pause in his stirring is enough for you to remember that your words applied to him as well, and it’s almost comforting to Itsuki to know that you hardly associate him with Alter Trigger anymore.

“Itsuki, I’m sorry—” You reached out to him and he met you half way, abandoning his soup spoon on the counter and grabbing the one you held in yours. He got a hearty spoonful and held his hand under it to prevent potential spillage, gently blowing on it so it would be cool by the time it reached your mouth. You hesitantly leaned over to take some into your mouth, eyes squeezing shut as the strong flavors immediately attacked your taste buds. “That’s so good.”

“Thank you.” He seemed pleased with your response, placing your spoon on the table near your bowl before he went back to stirring to keep any of the veggies inside from burning. “Their song is almost done.”

You could hear your child from the other room singing the lyrics slightly out of tune, probably due to messing around at the sink and hopefully not leaving behind huge puddles like last time.

“Itsuki, still, I didn’t mean to—”

“I understand. There are much worse things happening to children out there and I’m… grateful for the future you helped me create.” His smile always seemed to make your heart flutter, such a rare sight in the early years of your relationship but something that he’s gradually been working on. “However. This won’t be happening once a week. Every two weeks may be acceptable.”

“Oh, for sure! I think we can work with that.”

Just because your child was held to those rules didn’t mean you had to be, right?

Sometimes you were surprised if he held your hand in public, with how close to his chest he liked to play his cards. The other factor is that sex takes some mental preparation for him, and risky behavior is generally defined by those who are ready to get down and dirty the second a horny thought crossed their mind. He didn’t get horny when he was surrounded by constant irritants, thus the only time he was at peace enough to have those thoughts about you was when you were at home together.

S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?):

He doesn’t have the greatest stamina but it’s not like he’s panting after a minute of maneuvering, so you’re not too worried about it. He exploited your weakness because he knew he couldn’t last forever, leading you into a false sense of security where you thought your sensitive spots were safe until he suddenly attacked. You think he got some joy out of making you come long before he did, with some nights having his attention solely focused on your pleasure rather than his own (where he gladly tested your stamina, since you had teased him about his own once).

T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?):

Any toys that happen to be in his bedroom are owned by you. He’s not the type to seek it out, nor would he want to waste money on it as he thinks you both get things done well enough. He’ll hear you out on some toys but he doesn’t like ones that are purely to be used on him, at least preferring to focus on your pleasure if you wanted to bring something new into the bedroom.

Kanata’s inability to communicate his feelings properly is a relationship hurdle that needed to be overcome sooner rather than later, as the misunderstandings would just frustrate you both and potentially breed contempt. It’ll always be a learning process but Kanata needs to know he can be honest with you, even if the truth isn’t what you want to hear, and he expected the same show of respect from you. He wasn’t a child unable of handling complicated situations, he’d been in plenty of them, and he didn’t want to be treated like he’d explode at any opportunity.

He'll hesitate a lot when confronted about not enjoying the intimate moments, facial muscles twitching as he tried to find the words to say without misconstruing his attraction to you. Of course he thought you were beautiful, and he enjoyed being with you, but sex had never been the first thing on his mind. He didn’t always know what to do with his face, and moaning felt mortifyingly embarrassing, and he certainly wasn’t going to start spouting off poetry when you’re naked under the sheets together, so he just… hopes the rooms dark enough that you can’t see his face.

He'll try to initiate intimate moments more to show he’s not adverse to them, promising that he’s not going against his own needs because he wants to make you feel good. Itsuki always had the tendency to get too close. He thought he saw a touch of something else to your face, paler than normal or perhaps a touch of color that wasn’t usually there, and it worried him. He had you fighting to catch your breath, transfixed on his beauty, the way he just seemed to glow when he got close to you. It might make your heart feel like it’ll leap out of your chest but you treasured these moments with him, where he allowed himself to be a little more human.

Shion Kaida:

Shion can’t help how he yearned for you when you were gone. With his movements still limited, the only time you had to spend together was scheduled, and it was minimal at that as he was always kept busy trying to prove he could be a productive member of society again. When he sees your face again he can’t help but feel like a ravenous beast, knocking you back onto the softest surface nearby, having his hands on either side of your head as he looked down and admired how pretty you were underneath him. His hair tickled your nose and left you giggling despite the mood he was trying to set, and even Shion had to chuckle, sweeping his hair out of the way as he couldn’t let you stay distracted.

Shogo Yamato:

Shogo hadn’t even realized you were home, and came to greet you like an excitable puppy who had no concept of how long his owner had been gone but what he did know was that he missed you dearly. In his excitement he did happen to forget that he was wearing only a towel around his waist, fresh out of the shower, and the sopping wet look did a shocking amount for his sex appeal. You feel your heart clench in your chest as he greeted you with enthusiasm, your back to the wall as you tried not to look down; there was no harm in appreciating your boyfriend’s body but you wanted to at least enter the house before getting frisky. You don’t know what possessed him to get so close and demand your complete attention, but you weren’t about to complain.

Ryoga’s mother had always been kind-hearted.

Despite the living situation they were in, she had told him one night that she was taking in the child of a mother she was close friends with. They were traveling to another country but didn’t want to upend their child’s life, which made no sense to Ryoga but he didn’t think about it for long. This was his mother’s home and she was allowed to invite whoever she wanted into it, even if he dreaded having to meet a new person and figure out what personality he’d be dealing with until their parents were back home.

To say he was surprised would be an understatement; it was more like he was whacked upside the head with his back turned despite the warning he had received. Looking back at it now, when you first appeared in his life, you hadn’t looked special. You looked tired and like you had packed your things in a hurry, but you were polite, even granting him a smile (which was not most peoples first reaction when meeting him). There wasn’t an ounce of fear in you despite his size, or the direct way that he talked, or any other factor that made delinquents on the street immediately challenge him to a fight (that they always lost).

Ryoga doesn’t think about how struck he was by you until he’s in bed that night, or his new bed which was now the couch in the living room while you got yourself comfortable in his actual bed. You had appeared awkward about it, insisting the couch would be just fine for you, but it didn’t sit right with him to let it happen. He wouldn’t claim to be a man with great manners but it’s not like he was an animal – he knew how to treat guests. You seemed reluctant but when Ryoga had grabbed a spare blanket and had taken his place on the couch, there was no more room for argument, and your voice had been soft as you thanked him for his kindness.

Now that was something he really didn’t hear every day.

After you’re in bed he’s thinking about you. The way you walked, the outfit you were wearing, the sound of your voice and how it changed the slightest bit when his mother wasn’t around. It was like you were comfortable with him right away, not unusual considering your ages were similar but he wasn’t used to people being comfortable around him. He was either getting cursed at, ordered around, or altogether avoided. The meat you made that night was delicious, and you were going to be more help with taking care of his mom, who had only been getting sick more often in the last few weeks, so he couldn’t say your presence was unwelcome. Maybe you could be the good kid that he never was.

There had to be something more to that, maybe just because he was attracted to you and it wasn’t something he was used to. Romance had never really fit his image, never grounded itself in his head, it didn’t seem like a concept meant for him. Imagine someone who looked like him having a crush. Not to mention he was horrible at flirting even if he attempted to try. He couldn’t get words out in normal conversation, how the hell was he supposed to be smooth and charming in front of someone he was infatuated with?

He doesn’t know why he’s having these thoughts. They’re annoying, interrupting his sleep, and making him shift around at the concept of you walking into the living room to see him staring up at the ceiling rather than sleeping. He huffed, turning on his side, trying to settle himself into the couch that he was far too big for.

Being granted parole was the best thing that could have happened to him.

Ryoga still feels constrained by the system, no longer behind bars but with an even longer list of rules he had to follow that restricted true freedom. He had fought the rule about having to live in a specific housing situation, supported by you, a dedicated member of the community and his significant other of several years. The situation was made even more stressful due to your son, whose safety the court also had to consider; when he first left he wasn’t allowed anything but supervised visits, but Yuto spoke up about the great strides Ryoga had made towards reformation.

It had taken a little over a year for him to earn back another sliver of human rights, where he was highly scrutinized and had to speak to an unending slew of probing intellectuals who were just waiting for him to snap. Yet he remained calm externally, knowing this was his only chance to live with you and his son, that they were assuring he wasn’t a danger to you both. It was exactly why he bit his tongue even though the assumption that he’d ever consider hurting you or his son filled him with a ball of rage that sat in the pit of his stomach even long after the exchange had ended.

The day he finally got to come home, the home you had made without him but were fully willing to integrate him into, was one of the best days of his life.

“Welcome home, we missed you so much!”

Ryoga wasn’t expecting to be greeted so loudly and suddenly, almost squaring up at the surprise but thankful he didn’t. His son had thrown confetti into the air, torn up colorful pieces of paper, and a banner with the same message that was just shouted in his face was strewn across the wall right in front of the door. It seemed you two had been busy with preparations, he could tell from the delicious smells that were wafting from the kitchen and the other decorations that lined the hallway to the main living area.
