BL Gem AU dump

OKAY PPLZ IM DOING THE THING.

This is literally going to be a giant headcanon dump for BL in the Gem AU.

She’s definitely the oldest of the gems anybody really bothers to know about, and probably the most ridiculously mary-sue overpowered gem ever. She supposedly created the homeworld planet some-odd quadzillion years ago with her OP creation powers, but nobody really has any proof and BL either doesn’t remember/care or just would rather keep the mystery.

BL is a cat’s eye moonstone:

Because BL, or ‘CEM’ (most people call her GEM, since CEM sounds weird. ) is so enormous, she can’t form a solid body like 99.9999999999999% of the time, meaning she’s virtually stuck in the dreamworld, which she’s fine with cause it means she can screw with people. It also means she can’t use her OP creation-ey powers in the real world- and she’s virtually useless there.

(she can create simple things like outfits, sticky notes, and the occasional vehicle, but they only transfer over to the real world if a normal gem is in contact with it in the dreamworld and wakes up/reforms.)

Nobody really knows where her actual gem is located, (it’s probably somewhere in the himalayas or something. Maybe Shangri La or El Dorado. OOH! ATLANTIS! SHE’S IN ATLANTIS.) but no one is too worried since she shows up in everybody’s dreams for no apparent reason.

Mediumification

OK, so in Marble cake there are medium gems, right?

But how do medium gems even form????

Here’s my theory:

OK so say there’s a gem- let’s go with smoky quartz for now.

Said gem is fully a gem and can do all the gem things that gems do.

For whatever reason, that gem gets smashed beyond any hope of repair.

Then, the shard pile sits there for however long, until it gets hit by some sorta energy force- I’m just gonna call them M-rays for now- while nearby a normal human type person.

This reaction fuzes the human and the gem together permanently, regardless of whether or not the reaction was intentional. It also effectively ‘kills’ most of the original gem’s personality, save a few bits and bobs that end up bleeding over as the two beings begin to complete their merge.

Most of the time a bit of an appearance change occurs as well, though it’s generally just them recoloring to match their new gem, with the occasional thing like Isaac’s hair or some body-type differences that occur depending on physical age. (e.x. alters the result of puberty)

how about we bring back the gem au

Decided to get in on this AU. Using a gemsona maker. The only Carnelian they had for Isabel was of the orange variety, unfortunately, but made do with her color scheme regardless.

Also played around with the fusion feature they had on the side. So got each of the fusions of the kids from that.

Top picture we have Carnelian  (Isabel), Hematite (Max), Aquamarine (Isaac) and Emerald (Ed).

Then in the bottom we have all the fusions. Starting at the top left, moving right, then down to the bottom left of the next row.

Carnelian + Hematite = Amber, Carnelian + Aquamarine = Aventurine, Carnelian + Emerald = Aventurine, Hematite + Aquamarine = Amazonite, Hematite + Emerald = Alexandrite, and Aquamarine + Emerald = Smithsonite.

Hey so although there are no ‘canon’ designs(and if you read the faq this should be explained) the tag link should direct you to any designs that have been thought up.

Others have made designs for Tiger's eye but if you want to make up your own design, go for it. I've been writing based off of my own preference and designs people have already made.
