Ten PJM1 predictions

With PJM1 inevitably coming out next year, there are several things that I want to try and predict. There are things that I expect to see, things that I hope to see, and things that I don’t expect to see but would be really cool if they did happen. and for additional fun the percent likelihood that I think this will actually happen.

#1: more contemporary

Jimin is a contemporary dancer at heart. And with black swan we know that him being an idol can cross over very well with his previous dance experience. So with PJM1 I hope and almost expect to see him have a track that he can dance contemporary to or that he could dance to the instrumental at least

If they made a contemporary song one of the singles, maybe the B-side, then I think they could honestly get two videos out of it. They could release a traditional music video. But I think it would also be really cool to have a video of just jimin dancing to it. No cuts. Think him alone in a studio with amazing lights maybe dressed down. Barefaced. Barefoot. And just doing what he loves

It would not surprise me if they didn’t make this song one of the two singles though because slower songs tend to perform less on the charts. But even if it was not a major single there could definitely still be one on the album. I could only hope it doesn’t end up like an LTB situation

How confident am I that he will have a song he can dance contemporary to? I would give it a solid 76% likely

#2: a party boi song

This is pretty much the opposite of number one — jimin has range after all. So the opposite of a song he could dance contemporary to is one that you can shake your ass off at a club to.

We know that the producer of wap followed jm on Instagram. A producer that has worked with Ariana has also worked with Jimin

We know that Jimin loves to show off his sexy side in performances. And a party club bop would show that so well and could so easily go viral

They would definitely make a song like this a major single. It would have such a fun music video, such fun choreo, and be so catchy. I’m ready for it

How likely for party boi era jimin? like 67%

#3: two music videos that are the opposite of each other

We will know more about how solo activities will go when RMs album comes out later this month. But if the pattern goes similar to hobi’s release, then we can probably expect two music videos for each members solo album debut. Jin was probably an exception because he only released a single (hopefully we get his full album when he comes back from the military)

If you look at all of the solo songs that Jimin has, they are all very different. Duality. So I think it would make sense to have two music videos that are two completely different vibes. Think serendipity vibes vs if we had gotten a filter music video. Those would be two completely different spectrums. So I think with his new album we could hope to have that duality shown

How sure am I we will have two music videos? Like 90% sure. How sure that they will show off jms duality? 53%

#4: pole dancing

I never in my life thought that we would see the day where BTS members would pole dance. But we have video evidence of V in Paris and Jimin on camera saying that he wants to try pole dancing, so now I can’t get it out of my head

Maybe in a music video. Maybe in dance choreo. I just want to see it. I don’t know how it would fit into his songs but if he could make it fit in that would be amazing. He would be so good at it

There is a person on TikTok who at first glance looks a little similar to jm. He’s a professional pole dancer. And every time I see one of his videos I think of jm. He has a performance to serendipity as well if I remember correctly. That might’ve been an edit I don’t know

Percent this is likely going to happen? 4% (but maybe we’ll get a run BTS episode?? 🤡)

#5: a song portraying JMs different “sides”

There is probably a better way to phrase this but I am not always eloquent so I’ll simply apologize in advance. Just think about Jimin saying “what is men?” Or his photo folio. Or his filter choreo. Or him tattooing the bi gender symbol on his arm (temporarily). JM has a history of displaying that he is aware of not always portraying masculine traits and that he is OK with that

People can be contrary about this topic for Jimin. he has a history of talking about how his early days of BTS had him portraying a more masculine image than he truly was. And how he has grown and changed to be just the person that he is today. Just Jimin — whatever that means to him

With him alluding to it in his recent photo folio and with him talking about how he wants to show more sides of himself in his weverse interview I think we can expect to see more sides of jm like this

How likely? 63% (I feel pretty confident we’ll see something like this)

#6: BTS member collab

Jimin has already been on camera saying that he asked yoongi to work with him. If there is one thing that I want in this world it is a minimini collab produced by Yoongi. Not only does he make great music but it would be such a personal experience for them and for the fans. And you know he would produce such a bop for jimin

My number one prediction would be yoongi. But if it was not him then I think it would be either Joon or JK

How likely do I think we are to see a BTS member on PJM1? 59%

#7: A full or mostly English song

As much as I hate to say it, the charts don’t lie and BTS’s three best performing songs in the West were all in English

A lot of the producers that he has been working with recently are also based in the United States or are known for producing songs in English

Some fans may not like this, but we already have a precedent in left and right by JK. That was an entirely English song that JK collabed on that did extremely well in the West. So with that history I think that big hit would see the benefit

This has its ups and downs to me. Their English songs are less deep than their Korean songs in my opinion. But if it is a very well written song I think it would be super fun and have the chance to go viral.

If he does a full English song it would definitely be one of the main singles released for his album and probably get a music video

Percent likelihood of an English song? 81%

#8: A popular western collab

I don’t know who it would be, but there are so many popular artists that jimin’s voice would work very well with. And it would be really fun to see him work with other non-BTS members

I’m not going to throw out names because I would be wrong

If he did collab with a western artist, I think he would be less likely to do a full English song if it had an English feature, but it may still be mostly English. Which I hate to say because I love their Korean music but big hit is also going to be thinking in terms of how well the album will perform internationally

#9: Black hair, long like it is now + risque outfits

It would not surprise me if jm dyed his hair for his album. But I am a sucker for black haired jm. And I love it long and fluffy — it looks so pretty.

If he did dye it then I could see blonde. Or maybe a silver color again. I don’t think he would do a crazy color like pink or blue bc I’m not expecting a BWL number two on PJM1, but you never know honestly.

For outfits I really don’t know what to expect. Of the BTS members him and JK probably have the most risque wardrobe for work related activities, especially from PTD concerts, so I’m expecting similar to that. He has talked about wanting to be more mature and he just did a photo shoot where his abs were exposed. So I would expect that to continue to advance.

If someone would put him in an outfit that shows his moon tattoos that would be much appreciated, please and thank you

Likelihood of a long black hair? 13%. Likelihood of risky wardrobe? 98%

#10: it will make me cry

Not to get sappy, but I’m so happy that the members now have the chance to release their solo music. I do wish it wasn’t under the circumstances that it is. I’m going to miss all of them while they’re gone and it will be strange to not have the entire group together. But all of them deserve the chance to shine in their own light.

And I know jm will really shine with PJM1. I think it will show people a side of himself that they didn’t expect. And really prove to people that not only is he a member of the biggest boy group in the world, but an amazing performer, singer, and dancer in his own right

Jm is not a superficial person. And I don’t expect his album to be either.

Likelihood of me crying? 100%. Whether it is from the music itself or just the fact that jm gets to share his music with the world I know I’ll be going through it

Ten PJM1 predictions
