to say that keith was excited would be an understatement. he had met naeun online about three years ago and he couldn’t believe they’re finally agreeing to meet in person. keith knew how nervous his friend could be, and he couldn’t blame her. he was nervous too. but he was also determined to make this the best meeting ever, he didn’t want her to regret it. so when asked to choose a place to meet, they finally agreed on a nearby cafe. keith was there a lot earlier than he should’ve been, sitting at a table in the back after making sure it was still visible to the door. he was anxiously tapping his foot and maybe he shouldn’t have drank that coffee he got earlier. his eyes wandered to the door every time he heard the ding go off, his heart bounding harder every time. it went off once again and his eyes snapped to the door again, this time standing when he saw the familiar girl in the flesh. “naeun!” he called, not being able to keep his voice quieter as he waved his hand to catch her attention.

since she’d woken up naeun hadn’t stopped moving. the anxiety of finally getting to meeting her friend was quickly eating her away. although she’d expected that this day would arrive, now that it was here she couldn’t believe it was happening. it all felt surreal. from the moment she’d left the apartment building, her body had been operating in autopilot. before she knew it she was standing in front of the cafe unsure as to how she got there. taking a deep breath she tried to keep it together. the last thing she wanted was to let her nerves ruin their precious meeting. she’d already experienced it once, back when they first skyped, but thankfully she could always count on keith to lighten the mood. shaking her head, as if to drive the bad thoughts away, she stepped into the establishment. the sound of her name being called the minute she stepped inside startled her. turning towards the source of the sound, she couldn’t help but giggle when she caught sight of him. blind with excitement, the boy didn’t seem to realise that his voice had drawn the attention of the other customers. “ keith ! ” she exclaimed making her way towards him. “ so glad i can finally meet you. i can’t believe it’s been so long since we first met ! ”

SOMETIMES THE DJ needed a breather after playing a few sets. he left the club a few moments ago and is now sitting on the side walk in the empty streets of  jinhae. he was due back in an hour, so why not take a little bit of time to himself and collect his thoughts. you would think that seon was used to people actually reacting to his music, it was all so surreal but exciting at the same time. aside from being an artist, music was always something he wanted to pursue as he got a little older and now that he was doing both - life was finally looking up for him. while scrolling through his emails, seon heard a few people coming out and wandering around with drinks still in their hands; his eyes falling on one particular girl that caught his attention while he was up on the booth. “be careful in those heels.” he spoke out.

naeun wasn’t a fan of parties. never have and never will be. she couldn’t understand the appeal people saw in them. her sister had tried to explain it to her countless amounts of times but it was all for naught. naeun had always put comfort before everything else. she’d much rather stay indoors than face an enviorment full of glinting lights and wasted people. although that mentality of hers still remained, here she was, standing inside a rumbuctious club full of everything she hated. the only thing that made this bearable ( pleasurable even ) was the music. not just any type of music — but his music. she didn’t know how he did it but whatever that boy touched became gold. noticing that the music had changed, naeun took that as her cue to leave for there was no point on hanging around the club if he wasn’t the dj. what she didn’t expect, however, was to come face to face with him so soon. “ i’ll try but i can’t make any promises. ” laughing she took a seat next to him. “ after all, these babies can double as murder weapons. ”

shocked was an understatement of what he felt at this moment - heck, anything was an understatement as compared to what he could feel and see right now, right before his eyes. before he could even control it, flashes of memories pass by - of happiness, of days spent making each other laugh and nights spent in cuddles and corny tv shows, of hellos and see you tomorrows, of promises and of forever. kihyun remembered then, why it ended. the pain, the guilt, anger, frustration, sadness, and finally, regret comes rushing in like waves. he tries to keep his voice level as he struggles to reply, though it comes out weaker than he wanted it to be. “ na … eun. ” the words roll off his tongue like he’s said it a thousand times, but the unfamiliar feeling leaves a bitter taste in his mouth. he’s done this before, calling out her name and looking at her as if she held the weight of his world in her hands. and yet why all that he was feeling now was just … emptiness ? had he finally, really let go of what they had ? … could he even let go ? he looks at naeun then, contemplating his own questions - no, i didn’t and he knows this because she’s positively glowing, standing in front of him just like how she would years ago, with her hair blowing in the wind and doe eyes boring into his soul. he once thought he could never live without seeing these eyes, but he guessed it was true that life never really turns out the way you want them to be. “ i … um, do you want to … ” talk ? to reminisce ? did kihyun even dare to ask her to do anything, after what he’s done to her ? “ nevermind, forget i said anything. ” he clears his throat, because his mind was definitely something he couldn’t clear for now. where are words when you need them the most ? “ … you live here ? ” he asks, hoping for something, anything - he didn’t want to let go of her again, no, not just yet.

she was told that time healed all wounds but it sure as hell didn’t feel that way. just the sight of him was enough to leave her in an emotional turmoil. it was as if an electric current had hit her body. one word. that’s all it took for her senses to be completely overwhelmed and she hated it. she hated how weak she became in front of this man. oh, how she wished he no longer had an effect on her. she wanted to prove to him that she’d move on, that he meant nothing to her but try as she may she couldn’t deny reality. she was no longer in control of her body. as soon as she heard the familiar sound roll off his lips her heart skipped a beat. ‘ why ? ’ she wondered. ‘ why now ? ’ she didn’t understand. where did he get the right to waltz into her life after all the sleepless nights she’d spent over his text. she deserved a better break up — a cleaner one. keeping her emotions in check, she picked herself off the ground. “ wil do. ” she nodded but not before wondering what his words could’ve meant. this wasn’t how it was supposed to go. she’d run this scenario in her head so many times. what she’d say, what she’d do but now that she was staring at the real thing it was as if her monologue was now a thing of the past. all the pent up resentment, anger and sadness she’d been holding was still there ... but now there was also joy. the joy of seeing the man she once loved back again in her life. she wanted to laugh at how foolish it all was. remind herself of all the pain he’d put her through, of all the tears she’d shed on that day but she couldn’t deny the happiness he’d given her before it all went south. raising her eyes to meet his, she took a deep breath and answered his question. “ yes ... do you ? ” she asked, unsure as to what was the answer she was seeking.

kihyun had been enjoying his day so far, taking a sip of his coffee while admiring the view of the whole apartment. true, he had a dance to choreograph, places to be, people to meet - but the weather was too good to pass up. it definitely wasn’t because he had seen his ex’s pictures around by accident and was scrolling through their social media for a good whole hour, wondering what she’s been up to. he was just - curious, and that was it. that, was also the main reason why he thought he had been hallucinating when he sees the exact person who he had been looking at for the past hour at the gates of the apartment. it was park naeun alright, and kihyun’s mind goes into a frenzy as he wonders whether or not to face her … or for it to wait another day.

from the moment she’d left the bank’s premises, naeun had been glued to her phone screen. fingers tapping the screen as fast as she could possibly muster, the brunette kept uttering a non stop string of curses beneath her breath. from a strangers perspective, the girl must’ve been facing a life or death situation — what with the desperation oozing out of their every pore. but the truth wasn’t very far off. naeun had been waiting months to be contacted regarding the resume she’d sent in. although it'd be her first time acting as a beta tester, she couldn’t resist being the first to try out one of the videogames by her favorite company. refreshing the page for the unpteenth time, and just when she was about to loose all hope, the heavens answered her prayers. “ i got in ! ” she screamed, fist pumping the air. blinded by the excitment, she didn’t notice the person in front of her until their bodies collided with each other. “ sorr-  ” falling onto the concrete, she inmediatly apologised to the other party only for the word to end up stuck on her throat once she caught sight of his face. gaping at him like a godlfish, her mood took a sudden turn for the worse. she hadn’t planned this, heck she hadn’t even expected it. the joy from before was gone, instead it’d been replaced with anxiety. from the corner of her eye she eyed the gates of the apartment, wondering how long it’d take her for her to be inside the comfort of her own room if she made a dash for it. but before her mind could settle on a rational decision, she was already pronouncing his name. “ k-kihyun ? ” she stumbled unsure if her eyes were playing a trick on her.

Chaelin already at the meeting spot in a local cafe. She was rather excited to meet the girl from the overwatch games! Sipping on her fizzy drink, she looked around for the woman. Her eyes noticed someone walking towards her and WOAH was she prettier than her. Flabbergasted at the amazing beauty she held. Chaelin smiled. “It’s so nice to meet you!”

having arrived on time, naeun stopped in front of the glass windows of the store to check her reflection. had this been a normal occasion naeun wouldn’t have bothered with such formalities, but this wasn’t her usual encounter. her go to hoodie, two sizes two big for her, wouldn’t cut it this time. she wanted to give a good impression to other party — or try to at least. after rearranging her blouse, she attempted to smile at her reflection before shaking her head in dismay. “ that was definitely not a good idea. ” she muttered under her breath while entering the cafe, shuddering when reminiscing the awkwardness in her expression. quickly she scanned the area until her eyes finally met up with a familiar face. “ i’m glad we didn’t miss each other ! ” she said taking a seat in front of her. “ so this day has finally arrived huh ... to think i’m finally meeting one of overwatch’s best players. ”

aiight let’s delve into her backstory

naeun has a mom, dad, three older bros nd a twin ( what Big fam ikr ) altho her relationship w her twin sister is complicated she gets along super well w her brothers. 

naeun nd her twin ? think the moon nd the sun. they are complete opposites nd ppl always remind her of that. naeun is introverted, guarded nd a loner meanwhile her sister is extroverted, friendly nd p much the Life of the party. 

she loves her twin but she also developed inferiority complex so its messy™ her fam always treated her as one of the bois meanwhile her sis was the lil princess, the apple of their eye. her mom is a photographer nd spent most of her time building albums nd albums of photos of her sis while naeun prolly only has one lmao so she always felt like there was smth wrong w her ? like why do they lov my twin nd not me even tho we are twins ? 

it didn’t take long for her to trade her time outside for time indoors. instead of hearing ppl fuzzing bout her sis 24/7 surfing the web became her new hobby. by being online she no longer was her twin’s sister, she was her own person nd she Loved it

as she delved deeper she discovered the world of coding nd boi did she get hooked. wtvr free time she had she’d spend it programming stuff nd what got her started on hacking was the thrill of the adventure. it was bout testing how far she could go without being caught.

anyHow things got mssy when she was in highschool bc bois would come up to her hoping that she would set them up w her sis or give them her number. but there was one guy who managed to slip into her heart nd she helped him out with wtvr he wanted ( hacking security cameras, changing his grades ) but it turned out that not only was he using her for tech skils but was also cheating on her .... jikes ! ... lettuce say naeun didn’t handle it that well nd made sure to ruin his life on social media so dnt piss her off :)))

time skip to now ig ? she graduated w a bachelors degree on cyber security nd works at a bank as a security analyst baso she detects & prevents any cyber threats. she’s p much a hermit nd has 0 cooking abilities so she lives out of instant food

personality wise !

naeun is rlly analytical nd she thinks b4 she acts. she outweighs pros & cons b4 doing smth nd she is super guarded. tbh as long as u dnt invade her personal bubble u will be fine. she’s also rlly honest nd direct, she calls them as she sees it so she can come off as mean nd callous. sarcasm is her second language nd she holds her grudges lmao she also loves gaming thanks to her bros. her closet is prolly full of hoodies nd sweatpants ( fashion police were u @ ) but all in all altho she may not show it, she does care for her friends ~
