Holly is a female eclectus, eight years old as of April 25th, 2024. I got her at almost 2 years old on April 14th, 2018. We struggle with plucking, to varying degress of recovery. She's loves stealing my food, safflower seeds, and screaming. Cusita is a rescue Congo African Grey that hatched in 2005. We got her in 2019 after an injury left her temporarily paralyzed. She came to us cage bound, and is still selective when stepping up. She enjoys scritches, pistachios, and vocalizing. Merlin is a greenwing macaw, somewhere between 35 and 40 years old. He came into my care as a (very much ill advised) surprise Christmas present in 2021. He chews on his feathers out of habit, which is why he looks a little rough for wear. He enjoys cuddles, training, and annoying the neighbors. Also featuring Gravy, found as a 5 week old kitten on 7/4/21. He lived with my dad until March 2025. And Casserole (Cassie), found as an approx 5 month kitten on 11/11/24. As for me, the curator of this blog, you can call me Squid, any pronouns are fine, and i am an adult :) (icon by @arts-i-enjoy)

Vet agreed to steroids instead, so Cassie will be getting a 2nd blood draw tomorrow for a more comprehensive test, and we'll be going home with some steroids, as that seemed to help her somewhat before.

Heyo, I'm putting my gofundme under a cut so that I can edit this post to remove it later when it is no longer needed.
Life has been very unkind to me this month. The most meanspirited part by far is an equipment malfunction that killed my fish. Spite was so perfect and beautiful and I loved him so, so much. :(
I set the goal higher, but even $500 would help me stay above water. tl;dr, I lost my job, new job is taking a long time to give me a start date, rent is coming up soon, and my car needs repairs.
Everything is suck.

The kittens went home today with a lovely couple that drove 4 hours to get them. Very happy with the placement and excited for them.
Kittens for Adoption
These two both need to find home in the near future, if anyone is looking to adopt! I'm located in southern Illinois and willing to drive several hours or meet halfway. They have been dewormed and are FIV and leukemia negative. Currently they are too young for vaccines, flea treatment, or desexing, but those are on the agenda if they are not adopted in the next few weeks.
Little Gray is more outgoing and adventurous, he loooooves ear rubs. He seems like he'll be a medium or longhair.
Worried Tortie is a bit more reserved at first but I suspect she'll become quite the cuddlebug if she has more time to bond with someone. She's already an absolute purr machine once she gets started.
Both seem curious about other cats and would likely do well in a household with established pets. They have playdates with their orange tabby brother (who belongs to some friends of mine) and love to play and cuddle with him. Indoor only homes!

Hello followers, I know everyone is struggling and we all see dozens of gofundmes every day, but my friend here is currently on the road to my house to move in with me, along with their cat, dog, fish, and plants. I've got the bare essentials covered, but it would be awesome to get a little extra as they try to get their feet back under them.
