There’s actually a method for that though. All you have to do is take chord progressions that sound nice. But instead of just playing them, you take each chord, and you take the notes from it and play them in some kind of order thereby converting that chord into a segment of a melody. And then you play those segments in the same order as the chords they came from. And then you have a melody. And you can do fancy stuff with it too like symmetrical chord shapes or whatever, but either way you made a new tune to use. It’s really fun

So Ao3 is obviously a novelist right? To Tumblr’s poet, artist, scientist. And Tumblr is the housewife who stays behind and looks after things while Ao3 goes and fights “in the war.” And comes back direly injured and apologizing about it like “oh I’m sorry I took so long on account of this!” “Oh what a mess I’ve made on our floors,” that kind of thing. And then Tumblr nurses them back to health, right? And have just. A load of nonsensical inside jokes that none of the other websites (except Pinterest sometimes) understand. We’re all on the same page about this characterization right? This was always their relationship.

I hate most romances, but I especially hate slow burn, because they’ll let you believe for a while that the characters will be friends, and that the story is about them being in the situation, and then once you’re way too far in to just drop it, they’ll make the characters do something explicitly non platonic and then it slowly starts to be about the non platonic feelings instead of the situation.

And this puzzles me. All the things that got added are stuff that’s cool on paper. I love light hair contrasted with dark skin, I love devil aesthetic things, I love chains and elaborate gold decoration. I love elongated claw like fingers that get black towards the end, I love sharp teeth. I love goat hybrid designs. I love when somebody has a second form that’s more powerful, and the hair is longer. I already know dark red looks good on Montresor, I’ve edited his face to have makeup before.

so why does all that, added up, look ugly to me.

They look fine. The face looks as cool as I would expect it to given the concept -if you isolate it. Why does putting it all together make it look ugly to me? Insane.

Is it just that it’s too busy? I will draw him and experiment with taking things away or putting them on differently until I figure it out

I do find it interesting the fact that -while Montresor is very misogynistic as an extension of the fact that he is very toxic masculinity- there are only two people that he has ever respected. And those people are his mother, and Annabel Lee.

the way i started nevermore is so silly. because wym i was randomly checking the gl section of webtoon while screen sharing on facetime. and came across nevermore and thought, the art style looks cool. now here i am absolutely obsessed with it
