A Desert Locust. Practiced mixing watercolors for a subtle brown. I think this might be my new favorite media to work with. This was also finished with felt pen. Still can’t believe the white in my watercolor set actually works, though it might still not pop like i want it to with acrylic or white out.

A Flower Chafer. A good girl who feeds on pollen and color varies slightly from beetle to beetle. Done with watercolors, and detailed with felt pens. Please excuse my awful handwriting, I swear I’m in my 20′s lol.

A Common Earwig. These cute guys are tiny, no bigger than your pinky nail and are not strong enough to hurt you wither pincers. Some species just use them to help bury eggs. Trying out some markers and felt pen on this one, I don’t think i’ll use them again. except in special places though.

A Walking Leaf. The tricky friends are so good at camouflage that even other bugs think they're leaves and nibble on them. Also their pupils are actually just a trick that light plays on us, this happens with mantises too. Sketched with color pencil, and felt pens.

A Mayfly. These kinds of flies live between just a few hours and days. Most don’t have mouths and spend all their adult life searching for some love. Sketched in pencil, color pencil, and felt pen.

A fuzzy moth. Fuzzy things are always a bit scary to draw but I think I pulled it off quite well, I’d enjoy getting a hug from this guy. No base colors, just a light sketch and felt pens.
