Amelie's eyes take on a sparkle not at all unlike the snowflakes that fall through the Shroud's canopy and into the Starlight Stalls' clearing to mark the time of year. For a moment, she's somewhere else. Some-when-else.

An ungloved hand -- perhaps not her most pragmatic moment, going ungloved in the snow -- reaches out to catch a few of those snowflakes on the tips of fingers that are as long and as elegant as one might expect an Elezen noblewoman's to be, despite that they're somehow also as honest as anyone's that have ever worked the earth. She watches the crystalline precipitation collect, shimmer, and melt upon her skin.

Her enchantment is by some few degrees muted when a familiar voice reaches her delicately tipped ears from some yalms ahead of her. Still, the Starlight sparkle is fixed in her icy irises, and there's a pleasant rose flush in her ivory cheeks that's equal parts the weather and the festivities. The aesthete in her begs her not to pull her hand in from her collection of melting snowflakes just yet. It takes her a few long-legged strides' worth of closing the space between she and the entourage she lingers behind to find the will.

I Am A Tumblr Deadbeat

Alternatively titled: I Suck At Social Media, Sorry, It Will Almost Certainly Happen Again

It's been months since I've logged into Tumblr and had a good look around. I see that some of you have been busy with FFXIV Write and /gpose-ing your hearts out. Good for you. I'm enjoying all of your doodles and musings while having a cup of chamomile tea by my living room fireplace.

Things are looking different -- in a good way -- for me on the FFXIV and RP fronts, these days. I've moved to Mateus on the Crystal data center and I'm comfortable there. The friends I surround myself with, now, are good for me. I tried to main something I've never mained before, for a while, and while it ended up not resonating with me super well, the experience taught me that it really is best to just do what calls to you. In that spirit, I'm giving up trying to write anything that doesn't come from a place that's authentically within my boring little Venn diagram of interests. Please allow me to introduce you to:

Lady Amèlie de Chastelaine

My new and, I hope, long-term main character. Amèlie is a working noble whose family has a manor house in Ishgard and farm holdings in Coerthas. Some of the characters who inspired her for me are Konstantine and Kitty Levin from Anna Karenina, Josephine March from Little Women, and Eloise Bridgerton from Bridgerton. I'll be focusing a lot of my RP attention and energy on establishing her through the end of the year. Character profile coming soon!

Tumblr Community for FFXIV RP

Hello everyone! Through Tumblr's beta stuff, I was able to go ahead and make a community for FFXIV RP. I would like to invite you all to join up and share everything you love about roleplaying in our slice of the world wide web. https://www.tumblr.com/communities/final-fantasy-xiv-roleplay Right now there's a capacity for 500 members. I use this. I don't like the layout or the information fields provided, so I tried to do my own in it, but then it doesn't load well into the in-game client's window at all. That said, it's very worth using because a) You can mouseover someone else who uses it in-game with their RP tag up and get a basic idea of their OC without having to open your web browser in another window. b) Using it in your web browser also gives you access to profile searching and filtering, screenshots and art, short stories, RP communities and events, venue listings, etc. so the community aspect of it is incredibly rich and enjoyable. c) I don't have to spend 12345678910 hours on web design or screenshotting just to throw some notes up there to get them out of my head and start RPing if I don't want to, however, you can load your Carrd into it using one of its features. d) It includes a player page that you can choose to link to every OC you add to the archives. I use it to post a little about me, RP interests and boundaries, and contact info. e) You can link to other profiles that your character might be associated with as friend, family, etc. and create a Wiki-like network of relationships with all your RP buddies. Crystal Archives

I've heard off and on some want for a communal profile collection, a place to post stories, and find events all under one roof since the old RPC went down. Chaos had created their own replacement but was very local to their own data-center. That same group has been building a version for the Crystal data-center at https://crystalarchives.org/

There is also a Dalamud mod for viewing this profile information in game not unlike the early days of TRP on WoW.

While the site has been up for a while, it now also imports the roleplay events from the FFXIV RP Event Calendar, giving another easy way to keep up with what is happening when.
