I apologize for not being active here and not messaging people. I am realizing now between work and class, I have taken up more than I can handle and am feeling wuite overwhelmed. The Fall Of Gideon Prewett ( ft. @parttimerper )

Gideon didn’t find it strange when Evan Rosier turned up at his door. After everything that had happened between the two of them, they had remained friends even after Evan had settled down with another. Gideon supposed it was his own fault. He never told the boy how he really felt. Gideon was just happy Evan was happy.

The moment he opened the door, Gideon knew something was wrong. It was like he wasn’t himself. Gideon wasn’t stupid, he knew the other was under the imperius curse, he knew the other well enough to notice the signs. He knew there was a target on his back from the work he did for the order. He just never expected them to send Rosier.

Gideon wordlessly let the other into his house, hands trembling as he shut the door. He swallowed, turning slowly to face the other.

He was torn. Gideon didn’t want to die.  Especially not at the hands of the other, knowing it what it would do to Evan when he came to, but he couldn’t bring himself to harm him. Gideon didn’t see another way out. It would be worse for the other if he didn’t finish the task, and Gideon feared what else they might make him do.

Facing the other, Gideon forced a smile on his lips, feeling his eyes burn as they began to water. “Do what you have to do, babe,” the familiar pet name slipped from his lips as though nothing between them had changed in the years after they left Hogwarts. As if Gideon hadn’t spent the past few years pretending he wasn’t in love with the other. As if seeing Evan with another didn’t tear him up inside.  As the other stared blankly, Gideon could see the hint of a struggle in the other’s eyes. “I’m so sorry they did this to you,” Gideon whispered, a tear slipping down his cheek as he stepped close towards the other, desperately wishing things had been different between them. It was too late now, and Gideon had accepted his fate. The last thing the boy saw, was Evan Rosier raising his wand, and a flash of green.

Gideon Prewett fell to a crumbled heap, his face stained with tears and the ghost of a pained smile still etched upon his lips.
