Angie smiled and closed her eyes at her sister’s embrace. Such affections were so rare now with the situation they were in. She felt her shoulders relax as Donna’s chin rested atop her head, not even realizing how tense she really had been as of late.
“B for Bodacious,” She agreed again. She stayed in the embrace for a little longer, then finally let go to observe Donna’s lantern.
“So how many of these do you think sensei would need?”
Fixing Things Up
“Done deal.” Angie gladly took the cardboard and placed it on the table, but had almost no time to actually set it to where she needed it. She was immediately pulled in to her older sister’s shoulder, getting her head playfully mauled. She played along and gave a laugh, weakly trying to pry Donna’s arm off of her neck as she purposely dug her head deep into her shoulder.
“Totes the best,” She reached up behind Donna’s head and tugged on her mask tails. “Besides, according to August, B’s still get into college. And that means that even with us not being around up top…or even a New York City that’s not totally mutated, you’re way more than worthy of getting into any science university, or whatever.”
She knew how much being part of the humans’ science community meant to Donna. And she knew how much it hurt her brainy sister that none of them were able to actually go to school. Or even be part of society and be accepted.
There just wasn’t a society to be part of anymore. And that was the part that sucked. She sighed and leaned more into her sister, once again reaching to her face and lightly poking it, wherever her finger landed. Hopefully not an eyeball. “B for best.”

Angie’s eyes focused solely on the rabbit in front of her, fighting every fiber of her being to not pick up the adorable officer and hug her. She shook her head and bent down a little so she could get a better look.
“No, no, I’m fine! I just...didn’t see you. I hope I didn’t step on you or something.” That would’ve been one for the books. The masked turtle still felt as if she was being watched, and not by the bunny. But she wasn’t being immediately dogpiled to the ground on being called a monster, a freak...as a matter of fact, the animals around her were just staring. Why, she couldn’t tell. “Hey, you’re an officer, right? Do you mind telling me where I am?”

This place was huge. Like, ten times bigger than New York City. It had to be. But what even was it? There were animals everywhere! Most of them giving her weird looks as they passed by. Some even covered little ones’ eyes.
Tumblr media
And still, somehow, none of them turtles. Or none that she could see, anyway. Maybe they were in that river the hippo was coming out of to dry off? Whatever this place was, it looked like it was society of some sort. Angie began to walk toward the city itself when she felt her foot touch something that wasn’t necessarily ground, causing her to trip a couple of steps forward and over the said obstruction. Balancing on one foot, She looked behind her to see she’d tripped over a fluffy bunny in a police officer’s uniform.
“Oh my gosh. I am so sorry!”

[[Imagining the sisturts stumbling across a universe where Zootopia exists and they just...finally belong.
By about 80%. They’re still freakishly oversized turtles compared to standards but they’re amongst other animals like them and they’re finally able to find a place and I can just cry about it because they could finally be happy especially Donna and Angie
because Donna could be part of an actual science society and Angie could finally join her roller derby team and they all could have friends and Angie could skip across town like Judy did when she got off the train
Lea could actually have the complete teacher/student relationship with Splinter and eventually open up her own dojo to teach other animals
Ella could do whatever the hell she actually wanted within the law and maybe have fun trying to outrun them all when she got caught.
WHERE IS A JUDY OR NICK I WANT TO PLAY THIS SCENE WITH THEM PLEASE]]

Nodding, Donna took Angie’s suggestion and rounded out the corner she was working on, her tongue protruding as she concentrated. “There!” she said, sliding it toward her sister. “Now you have to make it pretty.”
A little pang chased through her at the sight of Angie’s smile. She knew she was hard on her baby sister sometimes, and to be fair, it was hard not to get frustrated with someone when they kept eating your best experiments. But she really did enjoy spending time with Angie.
“I know exactly what you mean,” Donna said. “Ella’s great and all, but…” She reached out and wrapped her arm around Angie’s neck, rubbing her sister’s head playfully. “I’m kinda getting fond of the B-team. B for Best, y’know?”

“The sticky part that keeps the bag closed isn’t sticky anymore! Ziplocks are better, anyway. It’s only for a minute, just hang on…”
Tumblr media

“Why do you assume everything in my room is sticky? Those slips aren’t sticky to begin with, you...doofus! You fold the flap into the slip and it stays inside.”
Tumblr media
“ Now give me back my issue, that’s an alternate cover!”

Donna blinked at Angie’s question, and smiled. “Yeah,” she said, resting her chin on her hand. “Just… thinking about things, is all.” She lifted the cardboard, showing off her handiwork. “One lantern down. I’ll need your help with the pattern, but I think it’ll work pretty well.”
She picked up another board, taking this one a little more quickly now that she had a pattern going. She could see the colours coming together on Angie’s table, and it made her smile. Donna’s construction and Angie’s creativity. She never would have thought about it that way before, but it was kind of amazing how well they worked together.
“You know, I used to think that Lea was underestimating us when she paired us off all the time, but… we kinda make a pretty good team sometimes, don’t we?”
---
Angie nodded at Donna’s creation of her own, highly approving it. She knew that her sister had it in her to go ahead and actually craft a thing that wasn’t purely metal, or literally from a dumpster.
“Maybe you could round out that corner just a little bit more?” She suggested, placing scraps down on the table. It just occurred to her she didn’t have any glue to actually put the strips on the wood. Hearing Donna’s question made her pause and look to her sister again, and she gave a caring smile. Angie knew that she got on her sister’s nerves; all three of them, in fact. But hearing that she worked well with Donna, from Donna herself, made it feel so valid.
“Yeah, we do. I kinda thought it was like that too, but, like...it’s been making sense, after all this time. And even when Lea was conked out in Northampton, I felt like it was weird to go and train with Ella.”

WHOA
[[Holy cow, wow. I thought I was coming back but life really just hit the fan. I’m so sorry everyone, including my fellow sisturts!
I just moved to the east coast recently, as I’m sure I’ve mentioned, but just two weeks ago I was in a car accident. Don’t worry, I’m fine, but I’m very stressed out. I’d actually like to get back into the swing of things; I really miss everybody. I’ll get to any replies that I owe very soon. I’m so sorry I’ve been absent.]]
