We might have a new photographer in the family! Sofia loves her new camera and taking photos as much as she can. When you live 5 minutes from Okanagan Lake you hang by the water as much as you can! This was a Friday night picnic supper at this rocky beach just by our house.⁠⁠ ⁠⁠ There is something about the water that we absolutely love and can't get enough of it. What we learned after moving here is that Okanagan Lake doesn't freeze in the winter. Sometimes these two kids still like each other 💕and I find it's when they are outside and usually when we are headed back home after a hike I've dragged them on 🤣⁠⁠ ⁠⁠ They surprise me every once in a while and hold hands still when walking. I know this will only last a little while longer since they are both growing up so quickly. We are heading for a quick trip to Vancouver this week! I wish it was to go check out the amazing things to do there but it will an essential healthcare trip. ⁠⁠ ⁠⁠ A quick stop at the BC Children's Hospital so that Luca can get a follow-up treatment for his CRMO. Let's finish off this sunset trio with one at Big White!⁠⁠ ⁠⁠ The days are getting longer, which means we get longer days to ski at Big White. A little sunset theme this week! Days when the sunset makes your day! ⁠⁠ ⁠⁠ We decided to go for a walk down at the beach the other night in between kid activity drop-offs and WOW! The sunset was amazing, it moved and danced and looked so magical in the midst of the clouds.⁠⁠ ⁠⁠ The other eerie part about the sunset was the water at Lake Okanagan was completely still (which hardly ever happens). They are growing up! A memorable day as they took the chairlift by themselves. Sofia has been asking for some POW skis with all the fresh powder days we've been blessed with @skibigwhite this year. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Understandably, it is harder for her on skis to keep up and push through the powder but I feel like there are still a couple more years yet she should "earn her stripes" before she gets 2 sets of skis.... plus please stop growing.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ This day was the ONLY day this year I beat her down Powder Gulch run because I was able to float on my snowboard while she worked through the powder. This typically is our order going down the ski hill. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Dad leads charging the way and finding us new places, Sofia on his tail racing so close you can hear her talk the ENTIRE way down, then Luca who hits kickers off the side of the run and cruising in and out of the trees, then finally Mom at the end to clean up the crew and snap pictures all day. So we skipped school to spend a few extra days on the ski hill. The kids really didn’t want to miss school, but mom and dad won this decision. ⠀ ⠀ One of the best parts is smaller lineups during the week and the chance for this... to be 1st in the queue for the 1st chairlift. ⠀ ⠀ When it lines up with a powder day it is even more epic!
