A minecraft world where we update the version every ingame sunrise, starting from infdev. This blog is where I'll document progress!
Currently on:
Alpha v1.0.4
A new day begins, and a clean slate -- we’re gonna ignore what happened yesterday. I’ll focus mostly on building in order to keep chunk generation to a minimum.
I went caving a little to grab some materials, though night hits before I even have a basic wall set up.
The landscape around spawn is pretty nice -- but I won’t be sticking around to admire it. I want to preface this by saying that I’m perhaps a little foolish and may have spent the entire day chasing a brick pyramid that doesn’t exist, due to being patched out in an earlier version of infdev (the version I chose is specifically one that can be updated without third party clients)
However, we did get a nice lay of the land from my misguided exploration! There is no sound (maybe due to some drivers not playing nice) but it definitely makes exploring at night spookier!
The segmented clouds are quite fun to look at, like they could break apart any moment. Another interesting thing to note is that hitting sheep with a sword makes them shed their wool instantaneously, and while we don’t starve, we hunger; porkchops immediately heal us, as regeneration isn’t a thing in this version.
I have learned that spiders run faster than me, who can't run at all. Terrifying!
I had grown increasingly lost the more I searched for this pyramid -- a skeleton had killed me and sent me back to spawn only for me to go out again, this time in another direction; silly me, the sun rises in the north, not the south! Pyramids were located 500 blocks to the south and 500 blocks to the east, so I head that way...only to find nothing.
Seeing the moon set, I resign myself to drowning at the bottom of the ocean to return to spawn, and perhaps make myself a house tomorrow. Lesson learned for today: be extra sure you’re reading the right numbers.
