I had surgery yesterday- a kidney stone lithoprosy specifically. I was diagnosed a month ago with a bottle cap sized stone and pretty much they put me under yesterday and had a machine punch me in the side until it broke up. I鈥檓 in some pain and I don鈥檛 have much stamina, but I鈥檓 no longer zooted on Toradol and peeing visible blood, so that鈥檚 good lmao

So, its been a long two weeks.
After KVCAP started struggling with their transportation department, I landed a job for a hearing aid franchise called "Miracle Ear." The store I worked for was owned by a family who was at the very least not getting a long, and the owner herself was kind of overbearing to the people who worked for her. I made it a month there before I was fired on the spot in retaliation to her daughter. One of the things that she fired me for was, ironically, following HIPAA guidelines. So, I ended up job searching again and I'm now working for Sally Beauty, which is great because I have a nail polish blog, and I can get paid for that thanks to my job. I also get a discount when buying nail polish there.
So, I will definitely be posting more on my Nail Nerd blog, and hopefully I can find happiness in my current job!

Sorry I've not been on: I have been dealing with a nasty case of Mesenteric adenitis, and it's been a struggle all the way. I hope I'm on the other side of this, but only time will tell.

So, I haven't been on much lately, and that is unfortunately for a reason: when I started this blog, I was working at a supermarket, but I quickly got a new job at a call center for a non-profit. It was a job I actually loved and I felt like I was doing something with my life. I loved going into work every morning and I hated leaving for the day. I genuinely loved my job.
Right before Trump was inaugurated, myself and some other workers were informed that we were being let go with little warning and nothing else. They didn't even have the audacity to tell us to our faces, and even gave us the wrong persons' feedback. I was baffled: I had been there for five months, and they just...let me go like that?? I was in the middle of training a new person to fill a co-worker's seat in the room, so she was going to have her training cut short because of this. I immediately began looking for jobs and quickly was hired at a different place. Unfortunately, at the new place, I am not allowed much time online, so I haven't been on.
Recently, it became abundantly clear that we were let go because of Trump: they anticipated him cutting funding to non-profits, and saw that they could not afford to pay us. They had flourished under Joe Biden, and had been able to expand their programs. Now a lot of things, like rides to the store for elderly folk, or new contracts with taxis, will no longer be a thing. They won't be able to hire new drivers or new callers, and they especially won't be able to pay for the benefits we were receiving. This is the reality of working under Trump: you get screwed. When he first came into office, I was directly out of high school, so this didn't affect me this much, but I am 28 now and upset that I lost this once in a lifetime job, all because of someone I didn't vote for and spoke against every moment I could. But, hopefully this FAFO hits the people who need it the most soon.
