He glanced up from the book he had jotted a few notes in to give Jing Yuan his full attention. "We just won't invite them to be remembered, they can fade into the anuals of history than." he stated with a hint of a smile tugging at his lips. The book in his hand snapped shut when he closed it.
"As long as legends and tales are written no one will be forgotten." he said "The story might not even be how it happened, but it will be how people wish to remember it." Dan Heng was ever a part of the Path of Permeancy even when he wished to not be.
"Call it the archivist in me." he said and gave a soft chuckle.

Reblog this post if you ARE okay with other muses commenting on your Asks/ Shenanigans /Posts
As an Roleplayer in the Tumblr community, I’m fine with other muses commenting on posts my muse makes or reblogging asks I’ve been sent with their own take on what was posted about. In fact, I LIKE IT! It’s fun! But I’m not sure who else wants that interaction on their RP blog like this- so if you reblog this I’ll know it’s okay to interact with your character this way.
(Just remember don’t re-blog RolePlay threads that aren’t yours! Usually those are between specific people, and outside people reblogging them makes it difficult to keep track of when their partner has responded. But re-blogging general posts and asks with in-character shenanigans? Do it! Let’s have some fun!!!)
If you do NOT want other Muses commenting on your general posts reblog THIS link instead.

@ice-and-lightning 's Yanqing is 100% allowed to grab Dan Heng's tail when he seeks comfort. It is there like a big teddy bear just waiting to be hugged. This developed from a series of conversations that have become pretty much personal canon, for our muses. Dan Heng might be slightly more father coded than he ever thought. XD

He could understand he could absolutely understand. As a boy he had no parents to guide him. He was often ill treated in the Shackling Prison he knew nothing of love and warmth. He was given books to education himself with. It was only so he could be either be discarded or used. If they had any idea he still possessed the magical knowledge of his past self, they would have likely killed him. If he could in fact die, given how he had experimented upon himself--no--not him Dan Feng. It still effected this body. He had felt it when Blade had stabbed him. Was he immortal was he as cursed as his companions.
Three pay the price.
"It was not inconsiderate or rude." he stated "I do understand, we both have issues with Dan Feng." he offered with a humorless chuckle. "He did what he was not supposed to do, and did not do well enough what he should. Grief---makes good people do questionable things." pale eyes glanced at him from the side of his eye.
"I do remember you Kai." he offered "You're not some forgotten thing, to him you were---a treasure." he stated "Which can be a good or a bad thing, coveted and collected---there has to be more to it than just that." he gave a dip of his head. "I am well read, it was the only thing I was allowed--before." he didn't want to think about that place or what happened there but his love for reading, and his love of learning remained.
"Allow me to buy you a meal, and if you have questions I will see if I can help you answer them." he offered "There is a little place right off the Alley, where we won't be disturbed." he suggested.
"Nothing ever changes with you, does it?" -Kai
@feathers-and-song
There was a silent moment as he considered what the man was asking him, and he tilted his head to look at him. He was passive in features though he folded his arms across his chest. "That truly depends on how you mean this ?" he stated "Every question of before can have a plethora of answers depending upon the context in which the person is asking." he stated.
Pale eyes scanned the crowd to make sure there was no problems. He glanced back to Kai. A hand motioned to the street they were on. "I was heading to the food stand to get gooseberry skewers." he stated "Care to walk and talk ?" he inquired politely but cautiously. He was sure that there were many people who held ill will towards Dan Feng, but he was not him. Though he retained memories and looks it was not the same as being this person. It was like pictures in a book. Of someone else's life you only vaguely remembered.
Usually in Nightmares. Kai was a part of less traumatic, though no less emotional times.

"I've never seen much good come from looking to the past."
"Time is my greatest enemy."
"You of all people shouldn't be one to dismiss the influence of the past."
"Quite frankly, your lifespan sucks!"
"Did you think you could just go on and never once have to look back?"
"You opened up the door to feelings I'd forgotten - emotions I'd pushed out of my memory."
"Time is a flat circle and we are all stuck in it."
"What if the ending isn't really the ending after all?"
"Do you remember the last time you were happy?"
"The world changed. It doesn't mean you have to."
"Time is a flat circle. Everything we've ever done or will do, we're going to do over and over again."
"I don't expect you to understand this. I don't completely understand it myself!"
"I've never had a conversation with a dead guy before; forgive me if I don't know the rules!"
"They can't kill what's already dead."
"What would you know about where I'm from?"
"Perhaps in this case, death is merely an inconvenience."
"We mortals are but shadows and dust."
"I've lived a long time, so believe me when I tell you that sometimes when one walks away from his fate, it leads one directly to fate's doorstep."
"Yes, I remember. I remember everything."
"You and I have observed history. Time has been our glass. We are in history now. Living it. Making it."
"You have lived for far too long."
"I've had a few centuries of experience."
"Nothing ever changes with you, does it?"
"What am I going to do with you? You simply won't die."
"I thought I already killed you!"
"I watched you die, and I'm looking forward to seeing you do that again."

What Color Does Your Love Feel Like ?
deep staining red
Ripped out confessions, warm velvety whispers and a heart like an open wound. Your love flows out like dripping blood, beautiful, flawed and twisted. It's gut wrenching, the type of painfully dramatic feeling that makes you clutch your chest, picturing dramatic monologues about love and loving and big screen over the top scenes of sobbing into your pillow until you fall asleep. It rips out of you, clawing it's way up your throat more so than tumbling out. Sticky words that just need to be let out, feelings so big they don't fit inside you. Your love isn't easy, it's a true bloody mess, dripping and staining everything it touches in a desperate attempt to be seen, to be felt, to be loved back. And you, you love so hard, so deeply, so much for someone who carries all that pain. Atlas holding up the world, how are you? Is your love still flowing? Is your heart still open? Still pumping and bleeding and dripping with blood and tears? Still painting your beautiful pictures and writing your love letters in deeply personal red ink? Because I see them, I read them, I love them and you, you, you, you. Clench your chest, scream your love, cry it out. Spill your words of loving, keep your heart beating, keep your love coming and paint the entire world red with it. Make it in your image, keep going, it's okay. Maybe one day the whole world can be red and loved and beautiful just like you.

"Is something wrong ?" he asked the young woman. Normally Dan Heng did not trouble others. Today the look on the young woman's face did stop him to inquire.

"..." flex tape really ? "No. It would not properly seal a wound it would more likely seal itself into the wound and cause a plethora of problem. Least of them being getting it off. The worst being infection."
"So Flex tape can fix wounds..." she looked interested.

It had been a day of since he had, had to deal with the Prospectors and others of his kind when really all he wanted to do was make sure Bailu had a great time and was a kid. She was still young and but she had ideas of her own and this alone made him proud. Dan Heng encouraged her to be different from the norm. To be herself, she was the High Elder and people should be getting behind it rather than opposing it. He had taken her through all the steps she would need to know about dealing with others. He had made sure she would be able to function since they thought her weak from not having the abilities he possessed they were all wrong.
That was something to worry over on another day. He was returning to the village festival since he had promised to try to make it to the festival for Xiu. He had said his hasty good-bye to Stelle and to March and tapestry jumped.
When meant he went as his full self, not his cloud hymned human form. Diting was a quick way of finding her. If he was away because the dog was usually to her side. So, when he pinged Diting, the dog knew he was coming.
His arrival was in a unused area and private enough to keep others from paying much attention or so he hoped. He was firm when she pounced him to hug him, not staggering in the least. "Xiu." he greeted at the exuberant hug. Easily lifting her from the ground. "I like your hanfu." he complimented "I did bring a gift though I do wonder why you were not with your friends, I expected you to be quite popular." he motioned "No matter I am here now." He pulled the box from his messenger bag to offer to her. It was in soft teal and gold much like his, but it was designed to have scarves that looked like butterfly wings, a mixture of opaque and sheer skirts but very fey in nature since her father had mentioned she was as well. "Happy Qixi Festival." he glanced around. "So, take me on the food tour, I did not eat much since I assumed rightly so that you wanted to have food here." he laughed. @antihxroiism (Hua Xiu)
He had arrived late to the Qixi festival because he had other festivals he had to deal with first. Fortunately, he could borrow the teleportation tapestry to come there. He was still in his Vidyadhara form he wore flowing robes of white, azure and gold with a hint of red here and there.
He knew he could find Xiu by the Diting he had gifted her. The small ping on his phone told her where he was and so he made his way to where she was making sure there was no-one to behold his draconic features. Last thing he needed was a witch-hunt, well…dragon hunt. He gave a faint chuckle at the idea since these people were cruel to those who protected them, they did not deserve the Hua's continued kindness.
Or maybe it was just Dan Heng cared for the family and when he cared for something he protected. Against ALL threats.
"Sorry I am late, the festival I had to attend kept me away, how are you, Xiu ?" he asked softly.

It was a sad circumstances and Dan Heng never would have returned to the Luofu were it not for his companions. There was nothing he would not brave--even being placed back in the Shackling Prison to see them safe. He did not make bonds often but when he did they were deep bonds, like the Arbor Tree. It was something he and the tree shared in common. A faint smile touched his lips.
"Don't worry when Jing Yuan gets in one of his sleeps, he is out for awhile." he promised "Like the big cats he loves the man will nap, I doubt my voice will even stir him from his rest."
His boots rested beside the door and his coat came off for the coat rack as he devested himself of his traveling gear to join YanQing at he little table. He unpacked the food he had stopped off to get. Boxes were set in front of the both of them as he meticulously arranged chopsticks. Learning to know when someone was feeling something or moving was a given since Dan Heng had been hunted for a long time and there was always that part of him who knew how to calculate the quickest way out of any place he was in. How defendable it was and if there was anyone who might need his protection.
This place was safe.
Pale eyes wandered to the boy's sword collection there were many swords within the room and well maintained and displayed he not only cared for them he loved them. It was apparent. When the boy spoke of nightmares he shifted his attention back to him. Concern touched his face for a moment "Nightmares are often our sleeping mind trying to work through something it can not logically grasp." he offered. "Do you want to tell me about it ?" he asked "Maybe I can give you a hand with it ?"
He tapped the box and opened his own to take out the rice and noodles that he had brought. "I feel that a lot of what has happened could produce nightmares, I myself have reoccurring ones." he stated softly "Its always better to share them." @ice-and-lightning
cont. from here with @pastincarnate
Yanqing can't help but smile a little. When they had first met, he would never have guessed Dan Heng has a caring streak like this. Especially not to him who had tried to arrest him back then. "Thanks," he replies, trying not to let the lingering fear and worry show. "We need to be rather quiet though, the General is sleeping." The boy didn't want to disturb his mentor's sleep. He needed it, needed the rest.
Looking around, he quickly makes some space by his table. It's a low table with sit cushions, as is common among the Xianzhou Native, but it's rarely used. The rest of his room contained a small bed and a lot of encased swords of all shapes and sizes, two of each. Yanqing is trying his very best to act normal, but it seems like his guest saw through him from the start.
"Just a nightmare," he replies, shrugging and gracefully sinks down on one of the cushions. "It's a reoccuring one," Yanqing adds, looking down at the table, not wanting to see how the other react. He must find him ridiculous. What could he possibly have been through that would warant nightmares? Nothing, compared of what little he had found out Dan Hang had gone through. Though this dream is not about something that has happened yet, but rather something that could happen: Yanqing having to kill a mara-stricken Jing Yuan.
