Back to writing

Finally getting back to the chapter I left off on forever ago. It’s been a really tough start to the year but I think I need to lose myself to writing for a little bit and get creative again.

The only downside is my past self left off the chapter in the middle of a sentence XD.

I guess this incomplete sentence counts as a spoiler for my story but honestly, with no context is it really? I just have to share where the chapter left off and I’m honestly not sure what I originally had planned for this sentence: Stephen stood still during the whole interaction, his body didn’t seem to know how to react and

It’s just funny I guess, I honestly don’t know what else I meant to write.

Update!

Hey everyone, I am alive believe it or not.

This whole year has been tough already. I’m actually almost done with the next chapter but I had a bunch of things happen before I could actually finish it.

I was in the middle of moving and switching part time jobs while writing the chapter then in March my aunt passed away suddenly. My brother came home from California to be there during the funeral and he actually helped me finish moving.

Then school got busy with our back and forth between virtual and face-to-face and now testing is upon us once more. My second graders are done and I’m right there with them lol.

My grandma has been ill since April and we just found out she has Small Cell Lung Cancer and Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Unfortunately, they are almost positive that the cancer has spread to the rest of her body and possibly her brain.

My aunt and my grandma were like my other mother’s to me. They helped raise me and take care of me while my parents worked. So losing my aunt and then getting the news about my grandma has put me in a bad place creativity-wise.

If you made it to the bottom, thank you for taking the time to listen. I will continue the story as soon as I can.

I’ve been doing some prompts for another show I watch but it’s really been helping me write more for my Steven Universe fics. So yay! Things have been insane lately with holidays coming up. I’ve had a couple COVID scares (had coworkers around me testing positive). I’ve had two coworkers lose someone to COVID. So, it’s been slightly stressful... I kind of lost my motivation for a bit.

I’m actually helping watch one of my coworker’s kids so they can finish out their mother’s funeral after the private family viewing this week. So, yeah. Really hoping the new year is better.

I just wanted to put something out on here because I know I disappeared... again XD. I hope everyone is staying safe and is able to enjoy the holidays (or just enjoy the season if you don’t celebrate anything this time of year).

Ya know what sucks? Having your little brother spill a whole freakin’ glass of milk on your laptop. Luckily for me it still works. Still trying to work on the next chapter of this fic and another fic on AO3. However, I’m also in the middle of trying to move sooo... lol

Holy crap, sorry to disappear there for a while. Things got intense and I honestly needed to step back from writing. My mindset was not a good one to have for writing this fic. I’m getting back to where I can write again soon. I had today off and I have tomorrow off too. I don’t have much to do tomorrow, so I plan on relaxing and working on the story again :) I hope everyone is doing well during this time.

OMG! Finally finished chapter 7 and sent it to my beta. My good lord. I jinxed myself last time. Never again will I commit to a day because ‘I should have plenty of time’. Jeesh...

Sorry about the longer wait on this one. Life is insane right now.

So, I can say with 90% confidence that this next chapter is almost done. I’m thinking the final product will be about 8-9 pages long unless inspiration strikes for something else to be added to Pearl and Dewdrop’s adventure lol.

But I’m thinking this current chapter will be the gem’s adventure and the next chapter will cover what’s going on with our boys, the diamonds, and Spinel.

I still can’t believe that originally the whole Homeworld visit was only supposed to be one chapter and now it’s going to be at least three chapters long, possibly four XD.

I’m hoping to finish up with this chapter sometime this week and hand it over to my beta :)

Alright. So, I’ve been writing this next chapter slowly. I’ve only had a little time here and there to work on it unfortunately. I just have a lot of personal things happening all at once. All of that should calm down pretty soon and be back to normal in a few days. It’s honestly been a very stressful month with many medical issues (not me but family members).

But I promise I’m still writing! This update will just take a little longer than the other ones.

So, I live in Michigan. Thankfully not in Midland, but we are downstream from where the dams broke and where the flooding is.

It’s been crazy. Keep Midland in your thoughts and/or prayers. They’ve been hit hard.

Okay, I’m done writing out what Ame and Amethyst are up to! Now, I just gotta write Dewdrop and Pearl’s adventure on Homeworld. Not sure if I’ll include what’s happening with our two boys in this chapter or the next yet. Gotta see how long it takes me to write out the pearls’ adventure.

Chapter seven is currently three and a half pages long at 1708 words. :)

Chapter 6 mistakes

So, slowly working on the next chapter!

I decided to reread chapter 6 to help me get back into the story and I caught a couple mistakes!

In this section:

Spinel’s face dropped, not getting the reaction she was going for. She frowned, “Sorry, can’t seem to do anything right for you. Huh?” she said, her laughter forced this time.

*Steven*, feeling guilty, went to apologize but was interrupted by Blue. “Oh, Stev-Stephen and Spinel. Please come join us.” Blue asked them.

*I referred to Stephen as Steven here XD. Even after reading it over like 5 times and having my beta look at it, it still wasn’t caught. lol

Here:

Spinel tilted her head to the side, “Why does it matter *when* the game is played?” she asked, confused.

*Should be where not when.

Just wanted to share that. I’m not sure if I should go back and fix it or not. Does it send out another new chapter alert when you edit a chapter on AO3?
