Hello hello anon! Characters are absolutely able to gain powers and other such abilities within the group, depending on the world they've landed themselves in.

For example:

If your character has landed in the world of Genshin Impact, then they will be able to gain a Vision during their travels there.

The same goes for Honkai: Star Rail! If you'd like, they can gain abilities depending on the Path you'd like for them to embark upon.

It doesn't have to be a Hoyoverse-specific world too, just so you know! As long as the rules of that world provides opportunities to gain powers, then they can find a way to eventually have them.
