There have been some rather odd pieces of merchandise released under the Patlabor name in the last decade. Now we have Patlabor vegetables.
The idea comes from the greenhouse where SV2 member Hiromi Yamazaki grows various vegetables in the series. As food is hard to come by at the SV2 as it is located on reclaimed land in Tokyo bay, the greenhouse's vegetables supplies extra nutrients for the officers and mechanics stationed there.
These organic vegetables grown on a farm in Gunma Prefecture, are shipped via Amazon.co.jp in two sizes; a 2.5 kilogram box containing 5 to 7 vegetables for ¥2,980 and a 5 kilogram box containing 10 to 13 vegetables for ¥4,980. Both sets come with a bonus goby character key chain.
The vegetables, which are randomly selected, vary from season to season, and can include onions, potatoes, garlic, eggplant, cucumbers, okra, bell peppers, sweet chili peppers, green beans, large tomatoes, medium-sized tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, Okinawa spinach, water spinach, nalta jute and zucchini.

Promotional video for MOVeLOT's Patlabor Laboratory (Patlabor Lab) attraction in Taihei, Sumida-ku, Tokyo, which opened in October 2024.
Patlabor Lab gives you the chance to pilot a full size Ingram (designated as a AV-X30 model). The attraction gives you three levels to choose from; the Pilot Plan, where of course you can actually pilot the Ingram, the Factory Manager Plan, where you can get up close to the Ingram and record the operating status on an inspection sheet and check that the manipulation test is being carried out normally, and a Viewing Plan where you can watch proceedings from a distance.
Details and costs can be found on the website, but the wait list to pilot the Ingram is very long.

Welcome
I've set up this side blog to focus on all things Patlabor; all of the anime versions, the live action version, merchandise, garage kits, doujinshi, far art, anything really.
I will be posting some stuff I have found online plus a few scans of rarer material. I will also be writing up a few short articles on various aspects of the franchise when I have time.
I expect to only post a few times every week.
