The Golden Stranger—Part One
Disclaimer: These characters ALL belong to me, as do the scenario, unless stated otherwise, and if anyone wishes to use them, they need to ask me. Any similarities to other characters, situations, people, stories, etc., real or fictional, are coincidental, and unintended.
In the dark, the wet pavement shone like a trail of starlight, looking beautifully out of place in the grimy little town. For her, seeing something so different from the dirt and the fights, from the blood and the cruel, disgusting people that she was so used to—it was amazing, breathtaking, even. It wouldn’t last for long, but it was a sight she’d treasure for the rest of her time in that awful little mess of homes, government buildings, and stores, and for even longer. One that would keep her hopes up, making sure she kept pushing forward, and one that meant she’d spend all her nights at the Golden Stranger Diner, an oddly named little establishment that, like the street that had caused her to be there at all, stood out to the girl like an island in a sea of despair and violence—a safe haven, of sorts. Named after a local legend of a mysterious individual who roamed the town—before it had fallen into its current state, just barely one step above chaos, of course—keeping crime in check, cleaning up the various messes made by the town’s inhabitants, caring for the local wildlife, and helping anyone who needed it, whether they’d admit it or not. They were beloved, up until the day they disappeared—gone just as quickly as the droplets of water on a road that had made our young main character, please don’t forget her, think of the night sky—vanishing so suddenly and quickly that people quickly began to wonder if they’d ever been real in the first place. Perhaps, May mused to herself as she sat in the diner one night, their care still protected the welcoming little building she spent so much time, and her, as well. She sighed, picking up her mug to take a sip out of it, and frowning when she noticed she was out of coffee. She slid it to the edge of her table, catching the attention of Beatrice Aureum, a smiling, happy, energetic waitress who she’d come to know. “Honey, how are you tonight? Have ya seen it yet?” May had told Beatrice of the road on the night she’d never forget, reminding the woman of a similar experience from when she was younger, and making her want to see it, too. May smiled, primarily for the waitress’s benefit. “Not yet.” “Y’know, ya just gotta keep trying, and, hey, you never know—maybe the Golden Stranger will decide to give ya a hand, just like they did for me, when I was yer age.” She started pouring coffee into May’s cup, like she had a million times before, as if she hadn’t just said something world-shattering. Perhaps it wasn’t for her, but May certainly would have dropped her mug on the floor at that, if she’d been holding it. “You've—You’ve seen the Golden Stranger?!” If anyone but Beatrice had claimed this, she’d have dismissed it without a second thought. Then again, she wouldn’t have been having this conversation with anyone else. The waitress chuckled. “O’ course I have, and more than just seen them, sweetheart. Why do you think I work here?” May gaped at her. “You mean… I thought… But… What? The Golden Stranger is really real?!” “They’re very much real, honey, and they own this restaurant.” Beatrice sighed, her expression saddening. “But, nowadays, the rest of the world—heck, even this tiny little town—is a bit beyond their ability to repair, so, as of late, they’ve just been sticking to improving lives in small ways, namely,” she gestured around them, at all the little booths and the counter, “this here place. A little bit of comfort, like how a home ought to be, for those who don’t have it.” She paused, giving May the chance to study her expression and posture. She looked different—younger, stronger, and yet older and wiser—and it was obvious that she whole-heartedly believed every word that she was saying. “And, my dear, they saw potential in some people to, maybe, eventually, do the type of thing they once did. After all, it’ll take a lot more than one person to do much good these days. “Most o’ these people, they’ll just give a bit of subtle, indirect help—a little shove in the right direction, if you will. But,” Beatrice bent down to look directly into May’s eyes, “Some people, they were able to help and keep safe much more directly.” Beatrice’s expression looked completely serious, and had a look in her eyes May couldn’t quite name. “People,” she returned the shocked girl’s cup, “like you and me.” Beatrice walked away, and May speechlessly watched the kitchen door—if that was even what it really lead to—swing shut behind her. May gazed out her window as she absentmindedly stirred milk and sugar into her coffee, questioning everything about the universe and her life that she’d always taken as a fact without giving it even a second thought.
Ten years later, May had been forced to move away, to the big city, for a couple reasons. She worked in an office, boring, yes, but it payed decently. Her mind often wandered to the nights she’d spent at the Golden Stranger Diner, in a tiny dump of a formerly beautiful town, the kind that tourists had flocked to from all over, a town that didn’t deserve the diner. She couldn’t help but wonder about it, honestly. You’d be the same way if you were in her place, I’m sure. One day, when she was out on her lunch break, she paused by a newsstand, to read the headlines, and decided to buy a copy of that week’s paper. She sat down on a nearby bench to read it. As much as she’d always preferred print over reading digitally, it offered her little comfort in this case, and each sentence was a new horror that made her long more and more for the ‘Golden Stranger’ of her hometown. “Honey?” She ignored the voice at first, dismissing the possibility that it could be who it sounded like. “Oh, dear, May, sweetheart.. You did want my help, didn’t you?” This was enough to make May look up, scarcely believing her eyes, as the woman standing before her hadn’t changed a bit since they’d last met. But, yes, this was indeed Beatrice. Once again, just like all those years ago, May’s brain couldn’t figure out how to respond. For the third time in her life, the girl—more of a woman, now—who never run out of things to say, was speechless.

The Field Trip - Part Four, Monsters
Before I start, a quick explanation, and a disclaimer–This is a story I began around a year and a half ago, so it starts out with not my best writing. Additionally, I may go back and edit/take this down because it’s no longer relevant, or change the part/chapter format. For now, rather than every PoV change, I’ll just end the part when I feel like it fits. These characters ALL belong to me, as do the scenario, and if anyone wishes to use them, they need to ask me. Any similarities to other characters, situations, people, etc., real or fictional, are coincidental, and unintended.
Part One
The tour guide was attempting to pry the door open, as he had told Miss Haruna to take a break and calm down. Instead, she was pacing, trying to ignore the muffled screams, but not realizing that they were now coming from the exhibit room, and staring at the golden doorknob she held in her hand. In her frustration, she threw it at one of the doors. It knocked off the head of the carved lizard-like creature on it, and cracked slightly. The now-damaged sphere rolled across the room, and stopped at the feet of the student who had just climbed the stairs.
“Uh..” Hiroshi started.
“Hiroshi!” Miss Haruna cried when she looked up. “Thank god.. Do you know where anyone else is?”
“I was with Raina, Mila, and Asuka, plus, we’d just ran into Aki.. I have her glasses, actually.. But..”
“But?” The tour guide echoed questioningly, walking away from the door and over to the two.
“.. Aki had dropped her glasses, so I was going to get them,” he lied, “.. And I heard screams, so I got freaked out and ran.”
Miss Haruna’s eyes widened. “.. More students might have gotten hurt?..” She sighed, sounding worried and stressed. “Hiroshi. You need to take us to where they were, okay? Now.”
He nodded shakily, and slowly lead them back to the exhibit room. Aki was sitting there on the floor, squinting at the three little lizards she held in her hand. Her expression was almost one of malice, though that didn’t seem right... She was one of the gentlest people in the school, she wouldn't hurt anyone, probably not even in self-defense.
“Uh.. Aki?” Miss Haruna asked nervously.
Aki immediately looked up, any trace of anger or violent intentions gone from her expression, replaced by fear, confusion, and worry. “.. Miss Haruna?.. Who else is with you?...” she asked, squinting at them.
“It's just me, Hiroshi, and the tour guide.. What happened to the three girls who were with you?”
Aki burst into tears, though, to Hiroshi, who frowned in suspicion, they didn't seem very sincere. “I-Th-They.. This b-b-big monster came up, a-and…” She held up the lizards, which seemed more terrified than your average lizards. “.. This i-is all that it left behind…”
Before anyone else could speak, Hiroshi managed to ask her a question. “Why didn't it hurt you?”
Aki blinked, like she hadn't thought about that.. Almost like she had a hole in an otherwise flawless alibi, or an incomplete excuse. “Uh.. Um..” She hesitated slightly before pointing in what was certainly a random direction, towards another hallway. “It went that w-way!” Miss Haruna and the tour guide raced off blindly, not even questioning how Aki had carefully avoided the question.
Meanwhile, Hiroshi went to go investigate the doors he'd seen at the top of the stairs. Starting at the right of the mummy door (since it couldn't be opened very easily), he tested all of the doors, and studied them closely. He skipped the middle one, since he could hear voices coming from inside, and didn't know who was in there. When he got to the door farthest to the right, door #13, he realized that it was cracked slightly. He hesitated before touching the doorknob. It immediately swung all the way open.
Hiroshi blinked. There were cages.. But they weren't metal. They looked almost like purple glass, but they were buzzing and shimmering with some kind of energy. He walked forward and down the hallway. They mostly had opaque walls, but the 5th one he saw, at the back of the room.. He could look into it, and it terrified him.
A large part of the wall was gone, but the cage wasn't empty. “No..” Hiroshi whispered.
It was Aki, unconscious and badly injured.
Before he could do anything, the other Aki stomped up behind him, and slammed her hand into a button on the side of the cage. It immediately resealed itself, and lost its translucency. Hiroshi whirled around, and stared at her.
She narrowed her eyes at him, and he began to back up. When he was cornered against the cage, she smiled. “I.. Could kill you right now.”
Hiroshi froze.
“.. But, I won't.” She examined her nails, before looking back at him. “.. After all, what would be the fun in that?”
Hiroshi hadn't realized it was possible to be this scared. His own body wouldn't listen to him, his mind screamed at him to run... But he didn't move. He couldn't.
The other Aki’s eyes narrowed even further, and she sounded deadly serious as she continued. “.. Tell anyone about this, and.. You're joining her.” She gestured towards the cage where the real Aki was imprisoned. “Got it?”
He gulped, and nodded shakily.
“Good.” She started to walk away, and then turned back. She snatched her glasses away from him, and tossed the three lizards to him. “If you're good, I just might turn your friends back from lizards.. Maybe. If I'm feeling nice.”
He stared at the small creatures, unable to believe what the monster had just suggested.
‘These are Raina, Asuka, and Mila.. Oh my god.. This can't be happening.’
“Yeah.. Yeah, it can't be happening! It's just a dream.. Just a dream.. Wake up, Hiroshi.” He closed his eyes, waiting a few moments before he opened them again. “Wake up, dammit!” He cried as he let his back slide down the front of Aki’s cage.
The lizards crawled up onto his shoulders as he pulled his knees up to his chest, and finally let himself cry.
The four exited the night sky room, and walked into the main hallway. Miyoko and Misaki looked around, wide-eyed. Misaki put a hand on her girlfriend's shoulder to stop her from running over to check behind the mummy door for Rae.
Adrien frowned upon noticing the cracked doorknob on the ground. He picked it up, studying it. “.. Someone was here.” The other three looked at him. “Where did they go?”
Mika pointed at the door to the lizard room. “There's someone crying in there..” She looked in the door. “Whoa, that's Hiroshi! And he has lizards!”
The rest of the group ran over, and all walked in, Adrien still holding the doorknob.
“Uh... Hiroshi?” Misaki asked, concerned.
The boy looked up with wide eyes, the fear in his expression quickly turning to relief, and then suspicion. “.. How do I know that's really you guys?” Miyoko, Misaki, and Adrien looked at each other, unsure of what he meant. Before they could ask for clarification, Mika spoke.
“Hey, ‘Rin, look at this thing!” She was sitting on a console covered in blinking lights, monitors, and buttons. Suddenly, the wall of the cage behind Hiroshi was gone again, causing him to fall backwards with a squeak. A few other cages became transparent, though no one had noticed this just yet.
Misaki’s eyes widened, and she ran in to get Aki out, the door closing again so soon afterwards that she was almost trapped. “Mika, holy crap, don't sit on that thing anymore!”
Mika climbed down. “Why is this room even in a museum?”
A knock came from one of the other cages. When everyone turned to look, there were three mummies standing there, just barely behind a wall of energy.
Miss Haruna and the tour guide were still searching for the three girls who had been turned into lizards when they heard 5 screams.
They immediately ran into the cage room to see what was wrong.
Mika was hiding behind Adrien, who was now holding Aki and hiding behind Misaki. She was glaring at the mummies, and looked prepared for a fight. Hiroshi was hiding in the far corner of the room.
To everyone's besides Ms. Haruna's horror, the cage began to open. The three creatures exited it, and as the children and the tour guide backed up, Miss Haruna stepped forward. She grabbed a loose bandage on one of their heads, and pulled it off, revealing that it was Ryoko. She looked badly bruised, and had a few cuts on her face, but otherwise, was fine.
The middle mummy pulled on a loose bandage on its own head. Amalie’s face became visible, meaning that the final mummy had to be..
“Rae!” Miyoko cried, rushing forward.
“Uh.. Who?” The mummy had an extremely familiar voice.. She sounded exactly like Rae. Amalie sighed as the girl reached up to take off the bandages concealing her face, revealing that she was indeed Rae.
“.. She, uh.. Must have hit her head or something when she was trying to get away.. She doesn't remember anything.”
Miyoko’s face fell. “.. Oh..."
“How did you three escape, anyway?” Adrien asked, frowning in confusion.
“Amalie and I pretended to be other ancient mummies, like the monster, and just walked away. And, well, Rae..” Ryoko trailed off. “.. Like Amalie said, she has amnesia.. When we found her, she started answering our questions in.. What language was it, again?”
“Latin.” Rae said, without the slightest hesitation.
“.. Uh.. Yeah. She was speaking Latin.”
“Why?..” Ms. Haruna questioned.
“Why wouldn't I have been?” Rae sounded like it was the most obvious thing ever.
“.. Since Latin is a dead language, Rae.”
“It’s not. And why do you keep calling me Rae?”
Etsumi opened her eyes slowly, blinking in confusion when all she saw was more darkness. Something was definitely off about it, but she couldn't quite place what. She held up her hand in front of her face, frowning, as she tried to remember where she was, and how she had gotten there. Her class was supposed to be.. On a museum field trip, right? Was this still the museum?..
And if it wasn't, where was she?
Why didn't she have any idea at all?
Etsumi sighed, standing up and looking around. Seeing no sign of light anywhere, she picked a random direction and began to walk in it. After a moment, she found a wall, and what felt like a window. It was very, very small, too small to climb through, but she got it open, and stuck her head out.
Panic set in as she felt the bright, warm sun shining on her face.
Etsumi still couldn't see, and she finally realized why.
She had become blind.
Blind, trapped in an unknown place, with absolutely no memory of why or how she was there.
‘Wonderful,’  she thought. ‘This is just freaking amazing.’ Etsumi sighed, leaning against the wall she had just found, reaching into her pocket for her phone, not thinking about how she's not going to really be able to use it without being to see.
She cursed under her breath, managing to get to the phone app, and put in her sister's phone number, waiting anxiously for a response.
Nothing. No answer, and after a few minutes, it went to voicemail.
Etsumi swore loudly, frustrated and feeling so, so abandoned and betrayed.
“Is someone there?” A voice called out from the darkness.
Etsumi froze. “Uh—Who are you?!”
“I'm Taylor, and this is Rae,” the voice responded. “.. Who are you?”
“I'm Etsumi.. Do you remember how we got here?”
“Nope. Rae says she can hear her friends and teacher’s voices in her head—Is that a phone?”
“Yeah, but my stupid big sister won't pick up, and I can't see to call anyone else.”
Taylor walked over, and took the phone. “So your double must still be around.”
“.. What?”
“Everyone who winds up in here has a double out in the museum. Normally, we're forgotten, but sometimes, the double disappears and we reappear. But, if the double is too convincing.. Anyway. We don't really age in here, as far as I know. I've been here for, what.. 40 years?”
Etsumi blinked.
“I'm not even the one who's been here the longest. That would be Zinnia, though I'm not sure where she is right now.. Anyway. While your double is still alive, you can focus on it, and you'll be able to experience everything that it is.. Kind of like a movie in VR? But once it's dead..” Taylor trailed off, and Rae continued for them.
“Their double died in a car crash two years back. They, uh.. Had to experience all the pain of dying.” The small girl shuddered at the thought. “.. They got all their senses back eventually, though.”
Taylor nodded. “Anyway, you guys have only been here for a few hours. You know each other, don't you?”
Etsumi blinked. “Wait.. Rae Sparke?! Miyoko and Misaki’s friend?”
Rae nodded, “Yeah.”
Etsumi’s face broke into a big, stupid, risky grin, finally recognizing Rae’s voice, and starting to feel just a little better about all of this, and less like she was about to burst into tears. The small girl spontaneously hugged the slightly older one, who’d always been there, almost like another older sister. Rae smiled as well, hugging her back. “We’re going to get out of here, right?”
Rae glanced over at Taylor, who shrugged. She hesitated slightly, “Of course we will. I’m sure we’ll see your sister and Miyoko again before long.” She bit her lip, hoping that she sounded more certain than she felt.
Etsumi hugged her tighter, “Yeah.. Yeah, we’ll make it out of this.. We’ll get everyone out!”
Taylor smiled, very slightly. “We can try... We can try.”
“What do you mean—” Adrien started to question Rae, but was cut off by Mika.
She shrieked, and everyone turned, wide-eyed, to see her lying unconscious on the ground, bleeding from an injury on her head, and another on her shoulder. A giant, disturbing creature that resembled some kind of horrible alien lizard stood behind her. When it realized it had been spotted, it scuttled off, like how a crab or roach would move, faster than any of them would have been able to pursue, taking the poor girl with it.
“MIKA!” Adrien yelled, starting to chase it, before being stopped by Miyoko.
“.. It’s like you said... Trying to be a hero is just going to get more people k—hurt.” She corrected herself at the last moment, refusing to say her fears out loud.
“I.. But... I don't care if I get..." He hesitated. “.. It's... It's better than losing her.”
Miyoko blinked, looking at Misaki, who shook her head.
Ryoko stepped forward, “You’re not prepared to rescue her yet.. Just wait a little longer. I know how you feel, I.. almost lost Amalie..”
The brunette put her arm around the black haired girl’s shoulders. “But what matters is that you didn't. I'm here now, and Mika will be, soon, too.”
“Besides, what about your family?” The tour guide pointed out.
“.. I live with Mika’s family. I.. Might as well not have any relatives.”
Miss Haruna nodded. “But still, Adrien.. Don't worry. We’re not going to lose anyone.. We’ll all make it out. Alive.”
Rae was still silent. She had an odd little half smile on her face, which Hiroshi noticed when he glanced back to see how Aki was. He frowned in suspicion, identifying her expression as one of relief, and remembering their earlier question to her. He made a mental note to ask again later, and to keep an eye on her. Yet, at the same time, he wasn't the best under pressure.. He'd have to work on that before he could confront the girl, as creepy and different as she seemed.
He took off his backpack, and looked at the lizards in it, ignoring the conversation continuing behind him, as the others, besides Rae, and, of course, Mika, tried to talk Adrien out of going after the creature unprepared. “Which one of you is which?..” He muttered, halfway talking to himself. After all, they were lizards. Couldn't really expect them to respond, now, could he?
For that matter, when Miss Haruna said they'd get all the students out alive, did she mean as humans? Somehow, this seemed almost fair, in the end. These girls may have been the closest thing he'd had to friends in years, but they'd done nothing for the school but bully people—including him—and bring them down, just to make themselves more powerful.
But, as much as they were like stereotypical popular girls from an 80’s movie... Did they really deserve to be lizards? He did care about them in an almost-platonic way, and, at times, they did seem to be genuinely concerned about him, though it was mainly Asuka.
They may have not exactly been good friends, or even friends, but, they were still people, and he'd find some way to fix them.. And then they'd finally have to be nice to him.
He smiled. Maybe something good would come out of this horrible thing after all.

The Field Trip - Part Three, Doors
Before I start, a quick explanation, and a disclaimer–This is a story I began around a year and a half ago, so it starts out with not my best writing. WARNING: Violence, swearing
Part One
Mika readied herself for a fight, when a figure suddenly leapt out at her from the darkness. She squeaked, hitting it in the head with her ruler. The shadowy figure shrieked, rubbing its head and muttering swear words as another shadowy figure slapped her. “Mika, what the hell?!” It hissed.
Mika squinted into the darkness as Adrien inwardly groaned at her stupidity. “Misaki?”
“Yes, Mika.”
“And did you really have to hit me with that ruler? It hurt!” Miyoko whined.
“Don't worry, we’ll figure out something before you die from such a serious injury,” Misaki said sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
“Hey! I—” Miyoko started, before being interrupted by Mika.
“Ohmygosh, really? I'm so so so so so so super extremely very sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you, I just thought you might be dangerous, like the thing we found earlier when—” Adrien slapped his hand over the easily excited girl’s mouth.
Misaki raised an eyebrow. “What dangerous thing did you find earlier?”
Adrien sighed. “I'm only telling you so that you don't fall for it.. There's a hallway near here—If you turn the other direction in that entryway—and it's really long. It's filled with exhibits on things like mummies, and it's weird.. It was empty, but it looked like someone was just there.. Anyway, we heard voices, so we ran for the end of the hallway. If you get there, there's some stairs, and you come out of a door with carvings on the door. They look like.. The most disturbing zoo ever. In the cages are grotesque monstrous creatures, and a mummy.. They're all shown in the middle of killing people.” Adrien paused in his explanation, hand still over Mika’s mouth.
“Go on!” Miyoko urged him.
“Anyway, there were a couple other doors. They all had images of disturbing and terrifying images carved into them, except for one. And they all had the same plain gray doorknob, except for one.. And not the same one as the one with a carving that wasn't of a horrible event or danger.”
As Miss Haruna and the tour guide continued on ahead, they began to hear very distant, very faint screams of fear. They looked at each other, eyes wide with horror, before breaking into a run. They reached the end of the hallway, and came out of the zoo door.
“... Shit.” Miss Haruna swore as she looked at the other ones. By her count, there were thirteen, total.
The one that the screams seemed to be coming from was a deep mahogany colored wood. Not bothering to look at the carving on the door, she began struggling to open it. As this happened, one of the screams turned from terror to pain, before abruptly being cut off altogether. The other became more desperate, before turning to sobs.
Miss Haruna wrenched the knob off of the door accidentally, and began bashing the wood with the useless chunk of golden metal.
Mika finally got Adrien’s hand off of her mouth. “Other than the one we came through to get in here, which had the night sky on it.. The carvings on the doors were super creepy! There was one for each of the things in the zoo.. Like the dragon, the boar, the griffin, and.. The.. The mummy..” Her face saddened, every trace of happiness disappearing from her expression. “.. The mummy was on the door with the different doorknob.. It was bright gold. The carving on the door had, at one point, been colored.. It showed two explorers that had broken into a mummy's tomb, and opened its sarcophagus.. It was killing the explorers with, basically, the mummification process.. Then, we ran through the night sky door when it suddenly.. We started hearing.....” She trails off, shaking a bit, and looking like she was about to burst into tears.
Adrien hugged her as he continued the story. “.. We heard screams of pain and fear from the room, like someone was being murdered in there.. And.. It.. It sounded like.. It sounded like Rae.” Miyoko and Misaki both froze.
“Wh-Wh-Wh—But—Sh-She can't.. I..." Miyoko tried to speak.
“.. I'm sorry.. If there's something we could had done, we would have tried to save her, but.. It's probably too late now.”
Miyoko began to sniffle, as her shock turned to grief, she sobbed, being held by Misaki, who was also crying.
“.. I.. I w-w-won't give up on.. S-Saving her.. Sh-She's okay.. She h-has to be.. She's o-okay..” Miyoko muttered to herself.
“I'm sure she is..” Misaki felt a twinge of guilt at lying to her girlfriend, but knew it was for the best.
Miyoko took a deep breath, and, after doing her best to calm herself, she managed to speak again. “.. W-We... We need t-to rescue her.” Everyone looked at her with wide eyes, not sure if they should listen to her, seeing as, in her panicked and upset state, she probably wasn’t the most rational. “.. Stop looking at me like I’m.. crazy.. Even if.. If it’s.. I-If..” She paused, struggling to hold back the tears which began to roll down her face again as she continued, in a shakier, quieter voice, that slowly returned to being steady and louder, “.. Even if it’s t-too late for Rae...... We can s-still save everyone else who’s in danger.. But.. It might mean sacrificing ourselves.”
The others were silent for a few moments, before Misaki finally spoke. “.. I’d help stop.. Whatever hurt her, even if it cost my own life.. If it meant that everyone else would make it out of here.”
Mika started to agree, but was interrupted by Adrien. “We should just gather everyone up, and focus on getting out of the museum without anyone else being hurt... We’ll lose more people if they try to be heroes.”
Meanwhile, Mila, Raina, Hiroshi, and Asuka had moved on to exploring the storage area. They found their way into the halls where everyone else seemed to have wound up, where they ran into the perfect little teacher’s pet, Aki.
“Hello?” She called out into the semi-darkness, “Is anyone there?”
Raina smirked as she picked up Aki’s glasses, which she noticed had fallen to the ground. She glanced back at the others, wordlessly saying that they should scare her. Mila and Asuka grinned, though Hiroshi seemed more than a bit skeptical. As soon as Raina set down the glasses, the three girls snuck up behind Aki, and after picking them up, Hiroshi rushed away, hoping to avoid the blame for this. He planned on apologizing as soon as possible, and keeping her glasses safe until then.
When he was nearing some stairs at the back of the exhibit storage room, he heard Raina, Mila, and Asuka all let out a loud yell, and Aki’s startled shriek. However, he became confused when he heard a sound almost like a roar, and terrified screams coming from the three girls who were always the tormentors. He froze, before his instincts kicked in, and he broke out into a run, racing up the stairs, and reaching a landing.

The Field Trip - Part Two, It Begins
Before I start, a quick explanation, and a disclaimer--This is a story I began around a year and a half ago, so it starts out with not my best writing.
Part One
The class looked around the room, and then back at their teacher. Miss Haruna glared at the tour guide. “Where did they go? You’re supposed to know this whole museum, right?”
The tour guide nodded. “Yes, I know the whole museum. Only the doors to the rooms we’ve already been in are unlocked. I suggest having your students split up and check there, and the bathrooms.”
Miss Haruna nodded. “Get into groups of five, and...”
Rae promptly walked into a wall, and then began to feel around, trying to find where her friends went. She felt a doorknob to her right, and turned it. A door swung open, and she walked through into a lit room filled with much more interesting exhibits. She got so distracted that it took her several minutes to realize that Miyoko and Misaki weren’t there. She shrugged, assuming that she would catch up with them later. She began to read a sign about mummies.
Tumblr media
Rae stopped reading, not really wanting to know any more about the subject of making a mummy. She moved on, going from display to display for the next hour and a half.
By the time Rae was starting to get bored, Miss Haruna’s 8th period class had searched the entire museum, except for the parts that had been firmly locked. Miss Haruna was talking to the tour guide.
“Are you sure they didn’t just leave? The doors are locked?” asked Miss Haruna.
The tour guide nodded. He looked around the room, and his gaze settled on the sign, sitting atop the mummy’s display case. He frowned. “Well, actually there is one room we haven’t checked—”
“Really?!” Miss Haruna cried. “Are you kidding me?!”
“—But I don’t think they would be stupid enough to go inside.” He walked over to the sign, and showed it to Miss Haruna.
“‘Employees only. Please do not enter!’? They love breaking rules. They would have seen that as an invitation.”
“Wh–Oh, that’s the smudged side. Sorry.” The tour guide turned it over.
Miyoko and Misaki were slowly making their way through a long, dark hallway. Instead of turning right, they had found a doorway to the left. Soon, they turned a corner. In the next hallway, there were thin windows, not even a half inch across, going from almost the ceiling to the floor. The length of the narrow room was covered in stripes of light and darkness, and it gave the feeling of being trapped. As Miyoko and Misaki walked on, Miyoko began to get nervous. “M-Misaki, are the walls closing in? I-It feels like they’re getting closer every time we move..”
Misaki shook her head. “Logically speaking, I seriously doubt that the walls are closing in. It’s very unlikely that they’re actually moving.” With Miyoko reassured to some degree, they continued on until they reached the end of the windows. Ahead of them was two feet of darkness, followed immediately after by a door and a bright light that continued to flicker on and off. Miyoko started to continue, and Misaki, despite her best attempt, failed to stop her, even when the light suddenly went out with a loud clatter.
Miss Haruna stared at the sign, knowing that there was no way she was misunderstanding it, but still continuing to hope it was wrong. She reread it over and over again.
Tumblr media
“But.. The door would’ve been locked, right?!”
The tour guide stared at Miss Haruna.
“R-Right?!?!”
The tour guide put his hand on the doorknob, and it turned easily. Miss Haruna shoved him aside, and ran inside. She pulled out a flashlight, and immediately saw the door on the left that Rae had gone through. She ran into the room behind it, and saw a deserted room full of exhibits, mostly on mummies. She glanced at a sign, and looked confused. Her confusion quickly turned to disbelief, and then horror, as she read it again and again. The tour guide ran up behind her.
“Miss—”  he started.
“What does this sign say?!” demanded Miss Haruna.
The tour guide glanced at it. “It’s a sign about mummies.”
“Read the whole thing!”
Tumblr media
“Your point?” asked the tour guide.
Miss Haruna pointed to a line in the middle. “‘Modern day mummies are less common, but we have new mummies often. WHAT ON EARTH IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!”
“It means that we get an additional exhibi—”
“No, it says new mummies. As in the museum receives new, recently created mummies.”
The tour guide fell silent. “Well, I don’t think—What about the rest of your class?”
Miss Haruna’s eyes widened, and she muttered something under her breath. “Raina would’ve definitely convinced someone to do something stupid.” Miss Haruna turned around, and ran back out into the main museum. As Miss Haruna had predicted, most of the class was gone. Only Raina, Hiroshi, Asuka, and Mila remained.
“If you three go anywhere, or try anything, you will be in detention until you graduate. Got it?” Miss Haruna asked.
The four nodded. “Yes, Miss Haruna!” They all said in unison, a chirping chorus of lies. The moment she was gone, they ran off towards the medieval room.
Amalie and Ryoko were two of the students who left. They found another door, a trapdoor, from a ladder next to the entrance of the first room. When they climbed up, the two saw a wall of doors. Each had images of many different things carved into the wood. There were about 10 different doors, each a different height and type of wood. They all had dull grey doorknobs, except for one,  the third one from the right, which had a shimmering golden doorknob. The two girls looked at each other, and at the doors. They both began to walk towards the one with the golden doorknob, since gold probably would have something good behind it.
Mika and Adrien, two more people who had decided to stay together, had gone the same way as Miyoko and Misaki. They heard talking up ahead when they were about to go around a corner, and the pair froze. Mika pulled a metal ruler out of her backpack, and held it out in front of her. Adrien was holding a large, heavy flashlight. Even though the batteries were nearly dead, it could still be very helpful. They slowly crept around the corner, but Mika’s ruler accidentally hit Adrien’s flashlight. The noise of metal colliding with metal echoed throughout the room. Mika squeaked when she saw dark forms moving towards them, and took up a defensive stance. Adrien lifted his flashlight, and hit it with his hand to see if he could get a little more energy out of the batteries.
Meanwhile, Aika, Hiroshi, Asuka, and Akumu had stopped in an art gallery on their way to the medieval room. Aika scribbled the Japanese characters for ‘Meow, I'm a stupid smelly cat!’ onto a painting, and drew cat ears. They moved on after defacing a few more priceless artifacts, and there it was–The exhibit on knights. They ran up, and grabbed swords, and began to put on random pieces of armor. Then, they began to walk back towards the mummy room.
Hiroshi stopped, and frowned. “Wasn’t that closed a minute ago?” he asked, pointing at the open, and empty, mummy display case.
Akumu laughed. “No, you idiot. You’re just paranoid.”

The Field Trip - Part One, Museum Tour
Before I start, a quick explanation, and a disclaimer--This is a story I began around a year and a half ago, so it starts out with not my best writing.
Miyoko Karintha’s 7th grade class was currently on a field trip to the museum. As exciting as everyone had expected it to be, their guide was the most boring person ever. The only reason Miyoko wasn’t completely bored out of her mind was thanks to Rae, her best friend, her girlfriend Misaki, and Misaki’s little sister, Etsumi. Etsumi may have been really, really annoying sometimes, and even though she always seemed to show up whenever Miyoko and Misaki were alone, she was good to have around when you were bored.
“Over here is a mummy, dating back to approximately…” The guide continued the tour, completely ignored by all but two people—And that was counting the teacher, who was on her phone. “... Now, we’re going to go look at the medieval room, followed by dinosaurs. Remember, stay in line, and don’t wander off.”
Miyoko and Misaki looked at eachother, then at Rae. The three were in unspoken agreement. The only way to make this trip even slightly interesting was to sneak away. The girls slowed down the speed they were walking until they were at the very back of the group, and then when no one was looking, they ducked behind a huge display case with a large sign in front, and waited for their class to leave. The museum wasn’t open to the public yet, so there was no one here but their class. Once it was quiet, they began their own tour, without a boring museum tour guide to order them around.
After a few minutes, however, there wasn’t really much of anything left that they wanted to look at. As they were walking back towards the mummies, Misaki noticed something that they hadn’t seen before. “Guys, look!” she said, pointing towards a very obvious door right next to the mummies.
Rae frowned. “How did we miss that?”
Miyoko shrugged. “Who cares! Read the sign!”
There was a large sign that neither Misaki nor Rae had noticed. Some of the letters were too smudged to read, but they had a pretty good idea of what it said.
Tumblr media
“Employees only?” said Miyoko, smiling.
“Do not enter?” Misaki added.
“Please do not enter.” corrected Rae.
The three girls grinned at eachother.
“That’s literally asking us to go in.” said Miyoko. “It’s practically an invitation.” With that, Miyoko pushed the door open to see a room completely shrouded in shadow. Without the slightest hesitation, Miyoko plunged into the darkness. Misaki ran after her, leaving Rae behind. Unknown to them, someone had noticed their absence.
“Miss Haruna?” asked Aki, “Where are Miyoko, Misaki, and Rae?”
Their teacher looked around, and frowned. “That’s odd. They were here a moment ago. Class, has anyone seen Miyoko, Misaki, or Rae?”
Everyone shakes their heads, except for Amalie, who slowly raises her hand. “I saw them stay behind near the mummies. I thought they were just going to the bathroom.. Or something...”
Miss Haruna sighed, and then began to turn around. “Back to the Ancient Egypt room.”
Rae squinted into the darkness, trying to see her friends. “Miyoko? Misaki?” she called. There was no response. Rae stomped her foot. “Guys! This isn’t funny!” She heard the sounds of someone giggling from inside, and saw an extremely angry Miss Haruna about turn the corner into the room. She ran into the darkness, and closed the door behind her. The sign attached to the door fell off, and landed on top of a mummy’s display case.

Periwinkle! No last name yet, still has (maybe?) a placeholder name, and not much of a developed personality, either, I wouldn't mind some suggestions. From July 2nd, 2017.

Miyoko and Misaki, some of my oldest ocs, and they're still girlfriends. And I still can't draw hands. Some things never change, I suppose. (The thing going on with Miyoko's hair colors, if it's hard to tell, is that she bleached it, and dyed the ends blonde, and it started growing out again.)

Introduction
Hello! I decided to make an account for both my ocs, and my art and writing (both completely original works and fan works). I'm a teenage enby who goes by Dakota, and honestly has way too many ocs. My main/current fandoms include Hetalia, Percy Jackson, Warriors, Harry Potter, Heathers, and Voltron. I'm in some other ones that I'm not as into, as well as being a fan of plenty of youtubers and other creators, so feel free to ask me if I'm a fan of something! I do some cosplay, though that's not too good, and will likely not be posted on here. I'm the admin of a couple blogs, mainly @nyonorthcarolinasgooglehistory and @ask-nyo-prucan (fairly sure that's the right url.), and my main is @patowan. This blog feels a bit empty, so I'm about to go queue some posts/reblog some from there.
