As you may be able to tell by my long absence from well, everything, my motivation for anything creative has been pretty much zero. I'm trying to create more again cause I miss it but not sure how well that's gonna go just yet. If anyone has any tips for getting out of art block I would appreciate it!

Saturday 1st July --

Started writing out my Boatem Pirates AU for real today! I finally have a good idea of where I want the story to go, so here's a tiny snippet of the first part!

Chapter 1

Market day was always a busy day in Hermitopia. People from all over the city gathered in the square to trade all kinds of goods, from homemade cakes and rare books to enchanted weapons and poisons. Scar had never actually seen it up close before but he'd about it plenty from the few contacts he had in town. He'd always assumed it must run like clockwork with this being a weekly thing and all.

Honestly, now he was caught in the crowd between a stall selling various forms of honey, and another with a selection of pies being sold by a handsome man in dark sunglasses, he was starting to wonder if everyone here was absolutely mad. Yes, sure, the prices were pretty good but this was insanity. How on Earth was it this chaotic here if the same market would be back next week? Surely people got hurt in crowds like this - at the very least robbed! Oh the pockets he himself would have picked as a youngster if he'd grown up here.

Oh yeah, I am never coming here on a Tuesday ever again, he huffed to himself as two grown women knocked into him on their way to the pie stall without so much as a glance in his direction. I hope these people treat Pearl better than this.

And speaking of his friend. After a little more dodging and weaving he spotted her at her own stall but thankfully not serving customers. By the time he'd made it to her she was seemingly busy checking her potato stock.

"Why hello there," Scar couldn't help but grin when Pearl immediately spun to face him, looking as excited to see him as he was to see her. He took of his hat, bowing with his usual flourish, "Nice to see you this fine Market Day, Pearl."

"Scar, I didn't think you'd be back already," she raised an eyebrow at him, still smiling despite the teasing edge to her words as she set down her crate of potatoes. "Don't tell me you've managed to get in trouble already."

"Trouble, moi? Never," he laughed, plonking his hat as gracefully as he could back onto his head, "I actually wanted to talk to you about something, is now a good time?"
