closed starter for @deadlynightshadesx | setting: underworld nightclub on valentine’s day
there isn’t a singe holiday that teri lets pass without showering her loved ones with as much affection as humanly possible. because of a crushing debt out of her control, she may not be able to buy the gifts she thinks they deserve, but at the very least she can bake for them. or rather, her sisters can do the holiday baking while teri is put in charge of decoration. this wasn’t always the case, but it’s recently come to her intention that baking isn’t actually a skill that she possesses. apparently while she’s been happily baking holiday treats with her sisters for years, everyone has been politely stomaching her treats before throwing them in the garbage. “happy valentine’s day!” teri calls happily as she bursts through the doors of the underworld a few hours before the club starts to pick up. holding out a box of heart shaped cookies, she places them proudly on the counter in front of meg. “oh, i didn’t bake them. just decorated them,” she adds quickly, her smile turning sheepish as she makes what she now realizes is an important distinction.

closed starter for @hunkulesbitch | setting: at chip’s house
for someone that swears she doesn’t have feelings (a blatant lie), teri spends an incredible amount of her free time at chip’s place. between the muses recording their second album and chip forming a band it’s been hard to find much free time between the both of them, but any time she can find is ideally spent with him, and of course ears. sitting on the floor of chip’s room she coos as she cuddles their bunny, scratching the top of his head. “do you think it’s too late to change his name?” she muses, looking down at the bunny curled up in her lap for another moment before glancing up at chip. considering they’ve had him for months now it’s definitely too late, but it never hurts to ask. “growing up with a bad name is really traumatic, i don’t wanna do him like that.” not that ears is nearly as bad as terpischore, but still. “what if all the other animals make fun of him?”

closed starter for @eveningstarwiishes | setting: at the muse house
when it comes to housework, teri has never been the most talented. despite her best efforts, cooking and cleaning have never come naturally to her, most likely because her father spent so much time investing in teri’s singing and dancing that he babied her when it came to absolutely everything else. now that he’s gone (and to her older sister’s insistence) teri is doing her best to make up for what she lacks, though she’s yet to make all that much improvement. standing over the stove, she bites her lip as she attempts to unstick an egg white omelet from the pan, brightening as he sister walks into the kitchen. “morning! i’m making breakfast if you want some,” she offers, though she can’t foresee a situation where clio would actually take her up on it. her sister has nothing but high standards, and despite eating her terrible baking for years, she had to draw the line somewhere. “oh, your boyfriend stopped by the dance studio last night,” she comments offhand, turning back to the stove. not that they’re still dating, but teri will never quite understand how that happened in the first place. “i don’t know how you ever dated him. he’s so creepy.”

hunkulesbitch:
closed starter @pccrunfortunatesouls || setting: outside the dance studio
if the circumstances of their relationship were any different, barrel would feel almost bad for teri. or, at least he’d do a better job at pretending to. hell if the circumstances of their relationship were any different he wouldnt still be here, lurking in the shadows outside the dance studio in the dead of night. his persistence was both blessing and curse, and he knows when it comes to the youngest muse sister her opinion teeters on the edge of curse. which, in all regards was fair on her part — if he were an innocent girl being followed by a killer maybe he’d be exhausted too. “sup princess,” barrel greets her with a bright smile, rushing up to open the door for her as he sees her getting off the elevator in the lobby of the dance studio. he nods a hello to the security guard sitting at the desk by the door, expression sweet and gentle as his eyes flash back to teri’s face. “figured I’d swing by and surprise you.” he chooses his words deliberately, playing off the part of kind friend who was just picking teri up from a late night dance session. and maybe leveraging the fact that they weren’t alone, waiting until this exact moment where she couldn’t react the way she would want was cruel of him. but messing with teri has always been fun. “i even brought you a little gift.”
Tumblr media
used to the bordes triplets lurking around every dark corner, their presence looming as they remind the muses not to take even a step out of line, she shouldn’t be so surprised to see barrel here waiting for her. but as she catches a glimpse of those familiar curls as she steps out of the elevator her heart still jumps into her throat, forcing a bright smile onto her face as to not arouse any suspicion from the security guard. while she wants nothing more than to alert the guard that she’s not comfortable leaving with barrel, she’s all too familiar with his particular brand of violence to know better. “hi!” she greets him happily, waving a friendly goodbye to the security guard before stepping out the door with him despite her better judgement. “what do you want?” she hisses through clenched teeth, her smile falter the second they’re alone. at the mention of a gift her heart skips a beat, fear coursing through her body as a shiver runs down her spine. there’s a part of her that wants to hide her intense fear, never wishing to give him that satisfaction, but it’s nothing he doesn’t already know. “what did you bring me?” she asks nervously, not even sure she wants to know the answer. knowing barrel it could be absolutely anything, but certainly nothing she wants. “you really didn’t have to get me anything.”

|| Get to know  VALERIE GRAY who’s TWENTY-SEVEN years old and works as a FASHION DESIGNER in town. She is from CHICAGO and is often times mistaken for NAFESSA WILLIAMS while others say she reminds them of  VALERIE from DANNY PHANTOM. ||
raised by a doting father that wanted nothing more than to make her happy, valerie was raised with everything she could have possibly asked with and more. feeling a strong sense of guilt when valerie’s mother left to start a new family with another man when valerie was only five years old, her father showered her with material things to show her love and buy her happiness. it unsurprisingly turned her into something of a spoiled brat, and she expected to get everything she wanted when she wanted it.
valerie could be sweet as sugar when she wanted to be, completely wrapping her father and other adults around her finger from a young age with the bat of her eyelashes and an adorable smile. to people her own age she was cruel and judging, and it was only natural that she fit in with the popular crowd at school.
as far as she was concerned her life was perfect; everyone at school looked up to her. guys wanted to date her and girls wanted to be her, and she always got away from being casually cruel to anyone that she deemed to be beneath her — which was anyone other than paulina, dash, and kwan. nothing could possibly go wrong to ruin that. that is, until the incident that still haunts her to this day.
a ghost attack at the factory where her dad worked security caused him to lose his job, and with it valerie lost everything. forced to give up their luxurious home for a run down apartment, she had to sell nearly every single one of her most prized possessions and get a less than desirable job as a fast food mascot just to help her father make ends meet at home. it was a spectacular fall from grace, valerie going from hero to zero in the blink of an eye.
along with losing all her money, valerie lost her status, popularity, and closest friends. learning that her best friends didn’t care at all about her if she couldn’t afford the latest fashions or the hottest concert tickets was an extremely low blow to her ego. now being treated the way she treated so many people that she once deemed to be beneath her, she had to take a hard look at herself and her actions, humbling herself in the process. there’s still a part of her that believes herself to be a little bit better than most, but she works hard on curbing her ego, trying her best to be kind at others and at the very least give people a chance before she judges them.
extremely angry and bitter about the circumstances in which she lost everything, valerie swore revenge on the ghost that completely ruined her life. while she originally had no idea how she would do that, she woke up one day to a package on her doorstep from an anonymous source, providing her with all the tech and weapons she needed to defeat the ghost. she didn’t give much thought to it, never even stopped to think that she’s potentially being manipulated into doing someone else’s bidding. instead she strapped on the outfit, learned how to use the weapons, and never looked back.
the majority of her teens and early twenties were dedicated to fighting ghosts, spurred on by a blind rage that she was never able to shake. she wanted justice for herself and her father, and defeating ghosts seemed like the only way she could get that catharsis. even as ghost sightings started to die down, valerie never truly gave up, patrolling the streets of chicago for ghosts no matter how exhausting at it got at times. a part of her wanted to live a normal life, but a much bigger part of her found it impossible to do that when she had the knowledge of ghosts that she did.
once she lost her popularity, there were a lot of things valerie was willing to give up. she said goodbye to the newest and most expensive tech, she gave up weekly manicures and trips to the spa, she missed out on concerts and stayed at home sadly listening to cds instead. unable to step into a second hand store without gagging, though, high qualify fashion and the newest designs were something that valerie simply couldn’t part with.
if she couldn’t afford them, she would simply have to make them herself. valerie spent countless hours teaching herself how to sew, until she could make pieces for herself that replicated the newest trends and designs. valerie wasn’t herself if she wasn’t looking cute, and designing her own outfits made her feel cute as hell. after graduating high school she went on to study fashion design with the hope of becoming a well known designer one day.
she was twenty-four when her dad came to her telling her he got a new job doing security on a place called corona island, and while she was old enough to stay behind in chicago, she couldn’t bare the idea of being that far away from her dad. he was her biggest supporter and number one fan, and she couldn’t bare the thought of being that far away from him. she packed up her bags without a thought and moved with him to corona.
valerie looked at corona island as a fresh start, a way to leave ghost hunting behind and shake the pain, anger, and resentment she still harbours for the ghosts that ruined her adolescence. this is supposed to be her chance to focus on her love of fashion and make a name for herself in the industry, but that dream is shattered within weeks of arriving on the island. it doesn’t take long for rumours of people with magic and powers to reach her, and not so long after that she hears the stories of other spooks that have made the island their home.
twelve years of hunting ghosts under her belt, she sees the supernatural powers on the island as just as much of a threat, and it doesn’t take long before she’s strapping back on her hunting gear and hitting the streets of corona to track down the spooks. years of resentment and hatred for the supernatural has her unable to see the humanity in the people with powers and she spooks, seeing them as a a danger that needs to be defeated. valerie views herself as a hero, protecting the streets of corona from harm.
for her first few years on the island she laid fairly low, patrolling the streets at night but not causing much harm unless necessary. the disappearances at halloween were what really triggered her into overdrive, a belief that something supernatural was behind it. she’s started actively seeking out supernatural beings now in a desperate attempt to put a stop to them before they cause more damage.
while her main focus is on hunting, she isn’t willing to completely let he dream of becoming a fashion designer slide, and hunting certainly doesn’t pay the bills. after moving to the island she got a job at haus da vil as candice da vil’s personal assistant. the job is insane hours and there’s no denying that her boss is more than a little bit crazy, but she worked her way up the ladder until she was trusted to start designing. if she’s not out hunting, there’s a good chance she’s doing something related to her job.
spends big hours in the gym. hunting takes a lot out of you and she puts in a lot of work to make sure she’s in good shape. lowkey buff as hell.
one of the most stubborn people you’ll ever meet. don’t try to convince her to do something she doesn’t want to do or talk her out of something she has her mind set on. she simply will not listen and will do the opposite of what you want in the pettiest way possible.
has very little free time between work and hunting and she’s very picky about what she does and who she spends her time with when she does have a break. she has very high standards an she makes it known whether or not she deems you worthy of her precious free time.
very few people on the island know about her secret. she doesn’t trust people easily and doesn’t want to risk letting people in on the secret and risk that they could blow her cover.
she comes up with increasingly ridiculous excuses as to why she’s regularly in the emergency room with hunting related injuries. she tries to make it seem like she’s extremely clumsy so that people won’t think twice that she’s regularly injured or banged up, but it’s definitely started raising some eyebrows among those closest to her.
very nervous about what superhero-type nickname the island might give her as she starts to become more visible around the island. they called this ghost kid in her home town invisobil which is just about the dumbest thing she’s ever heard in her life. if her nickname is that dumb she will simply jump off a cliff.
incredibly well dressed at all times. you’ll never catch her slipping.
very loud and every opinionated. you’ll hear her coming from a mile away.
she has good intentions and a heart of gold deep down, you just have to dig a little to see it.

|| Get to know TERPSICHORE “TERI” MUSE who’s TWENTY-THREE years old and works as a POPSTAR in town. She is from CORONA and is often times mistaken for NORMANI while others say she reminds them of TERPSICHORE THE MUSE from HERCULES. ||
her father started giving teri vocal lessons by the time she was four years old. she was too young, most would say, still figuring out how to form coherent sentences. but he insisted on starting her out young, creating his own little shining star. he taught her how to carry a broken melody, to smile so big that her cheeks hurt. it’s how she found herself in the living room in front of all her father’s friends, performing twinkle twinkle little star for the guests of his new year’s eve party. she cried before he pushed her in front of them, terrified to be in front of even a small crowd, hating all those eys on her. but as soon as she finished singing, it was the applause of the crowd, loud and encouraging, that told her she was good. it’s a sound teri hasn’t forgotten nearly twenty years later, forever her favourite melody.
it was in her first ballet class that teri fell in love with dance. while the moves she learned were simple at first — she was only a child, after all — the young girl knew she was good. or at the very least, both her father and her dance instructor told her she was good, and who was she to disagree? she begged her father for the best ballet shoes money could buy, refused to take off her tutu even when she went to bed, and walked around the house doing pliés even though no one was watching.
as she got older, teri found herself wanting to broaden her horizons past the ballet, jazz, and tap classes her father enrolled her in. she loved them all, but found herself more interested in the dancing she saw on tv, obsessed with learning the choreography to every beyoncé and janet jackson music video she saw. whenever she had down time, that’s where her father would find her, imitating the moves she saw on mtv. they were the perfect performers, and she wanted to be just like them.
being the baby of the family, teri got used to getting everything she wanted with a pout of her lips or the bat of her eyelashes. it was no question that she had her father wrapped tightly around her finger, and her older sisters always seemed to have a soft spot for her as well. so used to hearing the word “yes” as a child, she refused to hear the word “no”. the first time her father told her no, a four year old teri found her eyes welling with tears, her lower lip quivering in sadness, unable to wrap her head around the rejection. it was something so simple, being told she couldn’t add candy to the cart when they were at the grocery store because they had plenty at home, but she couldn’t quite wrap her head around it. noticing the way her father moved quickly to get her the candy she wanted, she quickly realized that tears were the way to get what she wanted.
over the years teri has taught herself to cry on cue, turning on the waterworks to get exactly what she wanted. while there are a few people that see right through the crocodile tears, it always worked on her father, and that’s what mattered the most. whenever he said no, teri would let her head fall back and start wailing, the waterworks flowing until he finally gave in. now that she’s growing up, she’s starting to realize it’s a tactic that few are falling for, especially with her father gone. she’s trying to grow, to be better at hearing the word no, but she still can’t keep her bottom lip from quivering when she’s faced with losing out on something she really wants.
when her father came up with the idea to form the muses, teri said yes with little to no hesitation. she loves her sisters and loves getting to spend as much time as possible. and of course she loves the spotlight. choreography has always been her strong suit, making sure they have the best moves when they’re on stage. she can be something of a nightmare sometimes, refusing to wrap rehearsals until they have their moves just right, all four of them perfectly in sync. she’s sure her sisters resent her for it sometimes, but she’s knows it’s worth it when the reviews of their shows come rolling in, all of them praising their choreography.
teri keeps a notebook that’s filled with every piece of criticism she’s every received. whenever she gets a note, whenever someone tells her she’s not good enough, she writes their words down carefully in the book so she never forgets them. she’ll sit in bed and read the notes late at night, beating herself up for all the ways she could be better. refusing to become complacent or lazy in her talent, it’s how she pushes herself to be better, motivated by all the times she was less than perfect and demanding more of herself.
her time at corona college has been filled with ups and downs; while she loves being surrounded by people that are nearly as passionate about dance as she is, teri never quite found a place she belonged in her program. she came to her first day fresh faced and excited, eager to expand her horizons and come back to the muses with countless new moves to take their choreography to the next level. instead she found herself in classes where she was met with mixed reactions. some students recognized her right off the bat, and teri found herself feeling awkward as she tried to make friends with girls that already had a clear idea of her in their minds. others felt she had an unfair advantage and were rooting to see her fail. while she’s moved through her time at school with as much poise and grace as she possibly could, sometimes she wonders if it would have been easier to simply put all her time and energy into the band. maybe she doesn’t need a backup plan.
there are few things teri loves more than her fans. while she doesn’t consider herself to be the fan favourite —  she happily lets clio claim that title — she’s filled with a rush of joy whenever someone recognizes her on the street. it doesn’t matter what she’s doing, teri is always thrilled to stop, say hi, and snap a quick picture.
from a young age, teri was taught discipline and it’s all she’s ever really known. in order to be at the top of her game, she eats healthy and works out religiously. she doesn’t smoke and rarely drinks. she abides by a curfew and rarely allows herself to let loose or party. she doesn’t leave much time for dating because she can’t be distracted from her dream. she rehearses every single day and consistently pushes herself to be better. her father always told her to keep her eye on the prize, and he set out a long list of rules for her to follow to ensure she was always the best. even after he’s gone she finds herself sticking to them, both because she’s determined to make him proud and because she doesn’t know anything else.
she’s absolutely terrified that her sisters will want to break up the band. her mother leaving when she was a child left a residual fear of abandonment that she refuses to address, but constantly whispers in her ear reminding her that she might not be good enough, might not be enough to make people stay. after her father’s death, teri found herself clinging to her sisters more than ever, needing regular validation and reminders of their love. she might have a backup plan, but that doesn’t mean teri wants to use it.
absolutely obsessed with instagram, teri can’t go a single day without posting on her story at the very least. whether it’s showing her followers her outfit of the day, giving fans a sneak peak of rehearsal footage, or just sharing a selfie with a cute filter, she likes to put her life online. she’s craved validation ever since she was a little girl, and this is her favourite way to get it.
she’s more intelligent than most people give her credit for. she’s particularly good at math, not that she thinks it’s a skill she’ll ever really need to use in her line of work. it surprises people considering she doesn’t even look like she knows how to count.
teri takes zodiac signs very seriously. she checks her horoscope every morning and always likes to find out someone’s zodiac sign when she gets to know them so she’ll know whether or not they’ll vibe. she, unsurprisingly, is a pisces.
she’s extremely non-confrontational and is afraid to get into arguments. the only people she can truly put her foot down around are her sisters because they’re the people she’s the most comfortable with in the world. if she has to confront anyone else, she’ll practice her argument ahead of time. in front of the mirror, in the shower, teri carefully chooses each word and gets extremely upset in the moment when the argument doesn’t go exactly the way she planned. it ends up derailing everything she practiced and she finds herself getting easily flustered.

|| Get to know SEBASTIAN “SKIP SPARKYPANTS” SEGURA who’s TWENTY-TWO years old and works as a POPSTAR in town. He is from NEW JERSEY and is often times mistaken for DIEGO TINOCO while others say he reminds them of SKIP SPARKYPANTS from THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS. ||
Skip has been an attention seeker for as long as he can remember. Being the middle of five children, he was always the forgotten child and he felt like he had to work really hard to be noticed. He was always the king of running into the room shouting “hey mom, look at this!” and showing her a flip or a new dance moved he learned. And she always came back with a half-hearted “that’s nice sweetie”, only half watching and never giving the enthusiasm that Skip was looking for. It only pushed him to be louder and more obnoxious in his quest for getting attention.
He was always the kid in class that was getting in trouble for causing a disruption. You know the one I’m talking about. Since he wasn’t getting the attention he wanted at home, he decided he would get it from his classmates instead. He started out by making little jokes in class, usually at the teacher’s expense, that would make whoever was sitting next to him laugh. Then he started escalating it to physical comedy, one time disrupting the class for a whole twenty minutes because he thought it would be funny to stick his head through the hole in the back of the classroom chair and it got stuck. Even if people were laughing at him, he was getting attention the attention he wanted and he was starting to get addicted to it.
The first time he ever got attention from his peers where people were cheering him along rather than laughing at him was when he performed at the ninth grade talent show. He got up on stage and performed Shiny Teeth and Me, and the crowed absolutely loved it. Everyone was screaming and clapping, asking him to perform another song, and afterwards lots of people came up to him telling him how great he was. That’s how he got the idea to start his YouTube channel.
His YouTube channel was slow going at first, uploading a Chip Skylark cover every month or so and getting a couple thousand views. He was happy with even that, thinking that he was really doing something here. But over time his number of followers started to grow until he was uploading a cover at least once a week to appease the hundreds of thousands of people that were tuning in. And much to his surprise, almost all of the comments were good. People were loving him. For the first time ever, Skip was thinking he might try to make music his career and even had plans to apply to NYU for performing arts when he graduated high school. And then one day when he was eighteen, Chip tweeted out some fan covers, Skip’s cover of Icky Vicky among them, and his whole life changed.
Overnight, Skip’s video had over a million views and he could hardly believe what was happening. Chip Skylark noticing him would have been enough for him, because as much as he didn’t talk about it, Chip was his absolute idol. Watching a latino pop star get such commercial success meant everything to him, and Skip wanted nothing more than to be just like him. He even brushed his teeth religiously, just so if he ever met Chip the man would be impressed with his own shiny teeth. He was obsessed. And now here Chip is, being the absolute angel that he is and kickstarting Skip’s career, because only a week after Chip tweeted his cover, Skip got a call from a talent scout.
The talent scout made all sorts of big promises to Skip about how he was going to be the biggest international pop star in the world, even bigger than Chip, and he jumped at it without a second thought. He didn’t even consult his parents or take the time to thoroughly read the entire contract; he just withdrew his acceptance from NYU, signed the contract, and was ready to get into the studio. Skip was born to be a star, and finally other people were realizing it. Everything he wanted was coming true.
It wasn’t long before Skip learned that he probably should have read the fine print of his contract, because his record label practically owned him. Skip didn’t have any creative say in any of the music he was making, didn’t even have any say on the outfits he was wearing. Which is exactly how he became Skip Sparkypants. One day while he was in a fitting for his first show, a rep from the label came in with the ugliest pair of sparkly red pants that Skip had ever seen in his life. He was no stranger to wearing ridiculous clothes, doing it all the time when he was in high school to get attention from the girls he liked, but he had really thought this was going to be a time to reinvent himself. To go on stage looking cool. He tried to protest, told his manager that under no circumstances would he go on that stage looking like a disco ball, but he quickly learned that he had no say, that this was going to be his thing. It was his way of competing with Chip Skylark. Chip had his shiny teeth, and apparently Skip had his sparkly pants.
While he was originally deeply upset about his lack of creative control, as soon as Skip got his first taste of fame he didn’t care anymore. It turns out that his fans really loved the sparkly pants, so what was he protesting for? It wasn’t long before the fame was completely starting to get to Skip’s head. He’d never received this kind of attention before, never been loved and adored, and it turned him into kind of an asshole. He had high demands, got snappy and impatient with everyone that worked with him, and was just overall a dick. He even started getting so full of himself that he would request things like only red m&ms in his dressing room, because red m&ms were the best, just like him.
As soon as he started developing an attitude, his team put him through extensive media training to make sure he didn’t ruin his image. He was being billed as a sweet, caring, fun guy, a total heartthrob, and his team wasn’t willing to risk losing that image. And he got incredibly good at it. While he’s a dick behind closed doors, throwing around demands, and even somethings throwing tantrums like a petulant child, in front of his fans and the media, he’s the best. Girls want to be with him, guys want to be him, and both his music and his image are skyrocketing.
His rivalry with Chip started out slowly. The first time they met, Skip was so excited to meet his idol, the man that kickstarted his career, and it broke his heart to learn that Chip truthfully had absolutely no idea who he was. And Skip really got his feelings hurt about it. Rather than just waiting until Chip learned who he was, Skip started becoming a little bit of a dick to Chip every time they saw each other. Eventually Chip started being rude right back, and over the years it’s started to grow and take a life of it’s own. Now they absolutely loathe each other and everyone knows it.
It wasn’t that Skip wasn’t a famous pop star, because he was. He was still selling out his concerts, but his venues were just a bit smaller than the ones Chip was playing it. He was still doing numbers on the charts, but he kept charting lower than Chip. He was still chased down by mobs of fans that passed him on the street, but those mobs were just a bit smaller and screamed just a little quieter than the ones that chased after Chip. When he was first discovered, the scout promised that he would be an even bigger star than Chip, and Skip just can’t let that go. Too busy focusing on being better than Chip, he hardly takes the time to enjoy his own success.
The Incident, as he likes to call it, happened so quickly that he barely remembers it. After having one (or five) too many drinks at his place, he was on the way to the club with his friends when a fan stopped him to ask for a photo. He was so excited until she called him Chip, and then something in him snapped. Maybe it was the alcohol, or perhaps it was the years of boiling resentment for the other star, but Skip just exploded. How dare she confuse him for that shiny teethed little bitch? He started screaming it at the top of his lungs, ranting about everything that’s wrong with Chip Skylark. Don’t you know who I am? he remembers yelling, not paying any attention to the fact that everyone around them had started taking out their phones to film his meltdown. He only shut up when his friends physically dragged him away, and even then he went with a bit of kicking and screaming.
After an agonizing day curled up on his couch under a weighted blanket, watching the video being circulated all over Twitter and Instagram, Skip pulled out the old notes app to post an apology to his account. Saying that he made a mistake and didn’t mean what he said, and he was very sorry to any of his fans that he hurt. He was going to try to be better. Skip posted it with all the confidence in the world, sure that it would be enough to get his fans back on his side, but all the negative comments just kept coming. His fans were disappointed, wanting to know what happened to the fun loving Sparkypants the knew and love. Suddenly they were questioning him, they couldn’t trust him anymore, and Skip’s team knew they had to take some sort of action.
Skip originally had no real intentions of becoming a better person while he’s in Corona, even though that’s very much his team’s intentions. They want him to take a long, hard look at himself and work to improve, but he doesn’t want to do that. What he wants is a long vacation on a beautiful island, and the chance to fuck with Chip Skylark. Everyone has heard the rumours that he’s having a hard time finishing his album, and he thinks this is his opportunity to finally get the one up on him.
Though many fans seem to be under the impression that Skip’s real name is Skip Sparkypants, it definitely is not. His real name is Sebastian Segura, but Skip is a nickname given to him by his family from the time he was born, and it just kind of stuck. And Sparkypants… well, everyone’s seen the man’s pants.
While he’s gotten out of the habit of cooking ever since becoming famous, because he has a chef to do that for him now, he’s always been a really good cook. Growing up he was always expected to make dinner for the family at least once a week, and those skills aren’t something that just leave you, even if you don’t use them anymore. His favourite first date move is to invite his date over to cook enchiladas because he thinks it makes him look humble.
The man is loud. Just… so very loud. Even with international love and success, he’s never gotten over his need for attention and will do anything he can to make sure he gets it. Usually that involves telling stories or jokes loudly and obnoxiously so everyone can hear. If he’s in the same area as you, you’ll know it.
Deep down, when he really tries to access his emotions, Skip is incredibly insecure and just doesn’t think he’s good enough. It’s why he’s so loud and obnoxious all the time. He thinks that if he puts on a front and appears confident, everyone will believe him. So far it’s working pretty well.
He has a pet hamster named Cornelius that he absolutely adores. Thinks he’s the cutest little guy in the world. If he’s not posting pictures on Instagram of himself or promoting his music, it’s pictures of little Corny.

|| Get to know RALPH WRECK who’s THIRTY-FIVE years old and works as the SUGAR RUSH ARCADE OWNER in town. He is from CORONA and is often times mistaken for SEBASTIAN STAN while others say he reminds them of RALPH from WRECK IT RALPH. ||
Ralph has been getting himself in trouble for as long as he can remember. Raised by a father who spent most of his time in and out of jail for a handful of violent crimes, Ralph was taught from a young age to solve all his problems with violence. If someone disagrees with you, if you don't like what they're saying, if they're being an asshole, there's only one solution — you punch them. And that's exactly what Ralph did. For most of his elementary school years, he found himself in the principle's office for fighting. Ralph always had a good reason for it — one of his classmates was making fun of his family, another student was making fun of the class nerd, he was standing up to a bully — it didn’t matter, it all ended up the same way: with Ralph in detention.
At the pleas of his mother, Ralph started to check his temper as he entered high school. Or at the very least, he tried. His reputation proceeded him, and he started to find that even if he didn’t go looking for trouble, it seemed to find him. He wasn’t starting fights, but if someone tried to pick a fight with him, he knew how to finish it. Despite his reputation, Ralph always insisted that he wasn’t a bad guy, he was simply misunderstood. Of course, not everyone bought it, and he found it harder and harder to make friends. While there were some people willing to look past his reputation and gruff exterior, most found it best to avoid his brand of trouble.
By the time Ralph graduated high school he had been officially labelled a “bad guy”, and he spent most of his twenties trying to out run his reputation. But no matter where he went, trouble always seemed to find him. He’s practically notorious for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but what can he do? The guy just has bad luck. A few of his more serious fights earned him probation and charges for disturbing the peace, and since then he’s been working harder than ever to clean up his act.
Growing up, Ralph spent a lot of time at the Sugar Rush Arcade. It was the only place he was guaranteed to stay out of trouble, and he was able to get all his aggression out on the games rather than on other people. It became almost like a second home to him — he had a job there by the time he was in tenth grade and he’s never looked back. When the owner decided it was time to retire eight years ago, he handed the keys over to Ralph rather than closing up shop. The place has been his pride and joy ever since.
Always seeing himself as a bit of a social outcast, Ralph has always taken a liking to the underdogs and done all he can to help them. Whether it’s something as simple as slipping the poor kids extra quarters at the arcade so they can keep playing, or jumping in to stop (and often fight) bullies when they start to go too far, all he wants to do is help.
Ralph has known Vanellope ever since she was a little kid. She used to come into the arcade almost every day to play the racing games, and Ralph always found himself looking out for her, even as she teased him mercilessly. He’s found himself incredibly protective over her, becoming her number one fan and supporter as she grew up. Ralph still isn’t exactly sure how he managed to fall into a father figure role, but he would do absolutely anything for her, no questions asked.
The day Ralph realized he had super strength was possibly the scariest day of his life. He woke up just like any other day, but something felt different somehow. He couldn’t put his finger on the reason until he left his house for the day and ripped the door clean off his hinges. He stood there, helpless and confused, unsure what was happening. He’s always been strong, but never like this. For the rest of the day, the same thing happened. He went to his favourite café for breakfast and the coffee cup shattered in his hand as soon as he picked it up. He tried hitting the Pac-Man game at work when it ate a kid’s quarter and he ended up punching a hole in the side of the machine, putting it completely out of commission. He went to hug Vanellope when she came to visit him as work, just as he always did, but this time she yelled in pain — “Are you trying to kill me, Stinkbrain?”. It took him lying awake almost the whole night to realize what was happening to him. That this must be one of those powers he’d heard so much about.
While extreme super strength might sound fun to some — a real superhero sort of power — Ralph was devastated by the development of his power. After spending years trying to convince the residents of Corona Island that he’s not a bad guy, that there’s no reason to be afraid of him, he’s finally giving them a reason to be afraid. He closed down the arcade for a week, cutting off contact with everyone as he claimed to be sick, taking the time to figure out his power. Of course he couldn’t get much of a handle of it on his own, and it took his closest friends practically barging down his door — that he haphazardly fixed — to start making any progress. With their help and encouragement he was able to make some sense of his powers and he can usually walk into a room without destroying everything he touches. If he’s not careful he’ll crush whatever he’s holding in his hand, but Ralph can almost go back to living like he did before.
Ralph increased his volunteering after learning about his power. While he always had a desire to be seen as a good guy, it’s grown exponentially ever since he started destroying everything in his path. He wants the people in his life to know that they can still trust him, and the people that are still dubious of him to know that he’s worth trusting. There are still people that are afraid of him, caught up in his reputation, but he’s started to see more people smiling at him as he walks down the street.
They say not to care too much what other people think about you, but Ralph takes other people’s opinions of him very seriously. He may try to mask his insecurities with jokes, but he’s always been rather insecure and cares deeply about what other people think about him. His self-worth is tied up in the opinions of others, and he can’t help but be down on himself on those days where people outwardly show disdain or contempt for him.
Ralph has always been incredibly clumsy. No matter how careful he tries to be, he’s always finding new ways to trip over his own two feet. It’s not uncommon for him to burn himself when he’s cooking, drop something fragile, run into a wall, door, or other person if he’s not looking, or find some other way to injure himself. He’s become very good at first aid because of it, and has made “sorry” a very commonly used word in his vocabulary.
King of dad jokes. He thinks he’s absolutely hilarious, so be prepared to groan.
Very into action movies. Say what you will about it, but The Fast & the Furious franchise is his favourite and he has strong opinions about the proper ranking of all nine movies.
Ralph has a pretty big sweet tooth, and his favourite kind of sweets is pie. It doesn’t matter the kind of pie, he loves them all. Every year on his birthday, he has a birthday pie instead of a cake.
Don’t let his reputation or “tough guy” exterior fool you. Ralph is a huge nerd — something his closest friends are all too happy to tell anyone that mentions him.

|| Get to know NAVEEN MALDONIA who’s TWENTY-ONE years old and a JUNIOR in college majoring in UNDECLARED. He is from CORONA and is often times mistaken for CHANCE PERDOMO while others say he reminds them of NAVEEN from THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG. ||
Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, the Maldonia family always took their status as royalty very seriously. While it was nothing more than a figurehead position, the family still believed they were more important than most, and that's the exact mentality Naveen was raised on. He was taught to believe that he was superior to everyone else, and it was demonstrated through buying Naveen superior clothes, toys, and electronics than most of his peers, demonstrating that status is everything.
Naveen grew up with a butler, Lawrence, that was at his beck and call to do absolutely anything that young man wanted. He never learned to cook, clean, or do laundry, because Lawrence was always there to do it for him. Managing money meant nothing to him, because Lawrence always took care of it. Up until he got his own place in college, he had never so much as done his won grocery shopping because whatever he asked for would magically appear in the pantry a few hours later. He never even had to do his own homework, as Lawrence was there to write in all the correct answers, and then proceed to convince his teachers to give him a passing grade despite subpar test scores. It wasn't that Naveen was stupid, it's that he never once saw the need to apply himself. Naveen was living his best life, while others were working tirelessly behind the scenes to make it happen.
It wasn't until he was graduating high school that the Maldonia family realized they made a mistake when it came to raising their son. So concerned with giving him everything he wanted, they realized they made him want for nothing, never bestowing him with a work ethic, but instead giving him an arrogance and laziness that wouldn't suit him well in the real world.
The day Naveen was told by his parents that he was expected to attend college was a shocking one. He was so used to his parents giving him the freedom to do whatever he wanted with no push back that being told what to do with unwavering firmness felt like an attack. He had always been of the firm belief that after high school he would simply go to work at his father's company, taking a high ranking position on the board where he could get paid lavishly to sit around telling other people what to do, doing very little work himself. Learning that he had to earn his position was nothing short of a slap in the face. There was a big part of Naveen, the stubborn, spoiled part of him that resented being told what to do, was tempted to say fine, cut him off. He didn't need their money anyway. But as Naveen looked around the house he grew up in, he came to the earth shattering realization that everything he loved cost more money than he could possibly make on his own, especially as a high school graduate with no marketable skills. His love of material possessions weighed stronger than his pride, and as such he found himself attending Corona College before he even quite knew what was happening.
There was a big part of Naveen that expected to be above college — someone of his social standing couldn't possibly fit in on campus when he was so high above their social class. It was his freshman roommate that made him believe differently, so enthusiastic to both be at college and have Naveen as a roommate. Still bitter about having to live on campus and share a dorm room with someone else, he resisted at first, making it clear he had no desire to get to know the other boy. Yet his roommate was not deterred by his lack of enthusiasm, dragging Naveen to meals and every activity on campus, giving him no choice but to get to know the people he would have otherwise ignored. It was there that Naveen realized that maybe he wasn't better than everyone else — or not that much better, at the very least. Poor people could be nice, fun, and interesting too, and suddenly it was like Naveen was seeing a whole new world.
Similarly, Naveen never expected to enjoy attending classes quite as much as he does. By coming in as an undeclared major, Naveen realized that he could take whatever classes sound fun and interesting without the expectation of taking the boring, serious, or difficult classes. No business or math classes for him. No history or science or economics. Instead you'll find him taking art and philosophy, women's studies and film studies. Catch him signing up for physical education, music, and hospitality courses. Perhaps it's not the way that you're supposed to do college, but it's the way Naveen's doing it and he loves every second.
Despite being in his junior year, Naveen has found a way to avoid this dreadful "hard work" thing that everyone is talking about. It was a bit of a shock when he first attended classes and the professors expected him to do work, not at all caring who he is, but not to worry. Naveen found a way around it. He's willing to put in some work to avoid doing actual work. He uses his charm and a little bit of kindness to befriend a few particularly smart people in each class, depending on them to do all the work in any group projects, and counting on a lot their help for any individual assignments. They do all the work for him, and in return they get the delight of his company. Sure, his test scores leave something to be desired, but his high grades on his assignments are enough to pass the class, much to his professor's dismay.
After taking such a mismatch of classes, he's nowhere close to graduating because nothing he's taken can add up to an actual degree in anything. The advisors at school keep warning him about this, informing him that he'll be in college forever if he keeps this up, but Naveen simply doesn't see how this is a bad thing. He's having the time of his life, why would he ever want to leave?
At all times, Naveen is first and foremost focused on having a good time. He wants to be the life of the party and is fully convinced that wherever he is, the party is. He wants to be surrounded by people eating up just how charming he is, enthralled by his good looks, quick wit, and charm. Because of this he'll never miss a party or event around the island; he has both a fear of missing out on something fun, and also a fear of others missing out on his brilliance. For the very same reason he's started joining various clubs, both at the college and around the island.
As a bit of a player, Naveen has accidentally left a string of broken hearts around the island. Naveen is caring and attentive when he's with someone, making them feel as though they're important and special. And while others may not believe it, when he's with someone he truly does care. The problem is that he has a short attention span; always looking for the next best thing, he moves on in a whim. Some only get one night, others a few weeks, those that are really lucky get a month or two, but so far nothing has lasted longer. Some know about his reputation and expect it while others are left blind sighted, and while it does leave him with a pang of guilt every time, he simply hasn't found someone that he feels is worth sticking around for. Deep down Naveen knows he's capable of love, that there's someone out there that can convinced him to change his player ways, but while many have tried to be the one, he simply hasn't met them yet. He also firmly believes he's too young to be tied down — he has his whole life ahead of him and doesn't need a ball and chain just yet.
His favourite way to pick up the ladies (or gentleman — he's bi as fuck, baby, he doesn't discriminate) is to borrow his friend's dog and take a walk by the dog park. He likes to think that having a dog makes him appear kind, thoughtful, and sensitive (and deep down he really is all of those things), but most importantly, years of watching tv has taught him that no one can resist a man with a dog or a baby. And since he can't get his hands on a baby (nor does he particularly like being around children at this point in his life), the dog will have to do.
While he might be a little self centered, Naveen is one of the best friends you could have. He loves and believes deeply in his friends, hyping them up at every accomplishment, supporting them when they have a bad day, and is there to listen no matter what. He's always up for a fun and stupid adventure, prides himself in being an excellent wing man, and might even let you borrow a jacket if your outfit is in desperate need.
One of his most prized possessions is his car. Growing up, the one rich boy thing he didn't indulge in was being driven around by a chauffeur. While it certainly showed his status and wealth, something he always loved to brag about, he liked the freedom of being able to go wherever he wanted, when he wanted, without his parents or their staff knowing where he was going. Not that he was ever getting into that much trouble, but hat freedom was a rarity. From the moment he was old enough to drive, he convinced his parents to buy him the nicest car that money can buy and it remains his pride and joy to this day. He's very picky about who he lets in his car, and don't even think about coming near it with food or drink.
Music was one of his first loves, and it remains near and dear to him to this day. He knows the lyrics to most songs on the radio, he has a Spotify playlist for every mood, every every occasion, and makes a playlist for almost everyone he meets no matter how brief their time together his. His true love, though, is jazz. Miles Davis, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone; It's the music he grew up on,  comforting, nostalgic, and inspirational. It's a love he keeps hidden from most people, but those who know him the most have seen him dance around his living room to the brass music and crooning voices blaring from the speakers.
Beyond his love of listening to music, he's quite a talented musician as well. The music lessons he was enrolled in as a child were the only thing he ever put any actual effort into, and he continues to play to this day. While he can play both the guitar and the saxophone, his personal favourite instrument is the ukulele. He thinks it's fun, unique, and charming, just like him, and while he doesn't often play it in public, if you're over visiting at his house there's a good chance he's broken it out. Especially after a couple drinks.
A connoisseur of game shows and reality tv. Just as he doesn't take himself too seriously, he doesn't take the media he consumes seriously either. He's here for something fun, and particularly likes watching people dumber than her is make fools of themselves on television. It's a great ego boost.
Very used to skating through life on charm alone, he doesn't know what to do when someone doesn't fall for that charm. He's so used to having people wrapped around his finger that he genuinely doesn't know what to do or say when someone sees right through him and doesn't fall at his feet. He finds himself getting a little bit flustered, and works that much harder to get their approval.
More than a little bit vain, Naveen takes great care and pride in his appearance. He insists on having fresh haircuts, wearing the latest fashion, and has an extensive skincare routine he does both morning and night. He goes for a run almost every morning (of course not too early in the morning, don't mistake him for a man that gets out of bed earlier than he has to) and lifts weights every day to maintain his physique. And when he walks by a mirror, he has to stop and check himself out, both to admire the beauty that's reflected back at him, and to make sure he's looking his absolute best.
Ever since being forced to go to college, his parents have also been asking more questions about exactly how Naveen is spending his money. While he still has free use of his credit card, he gets calls with questions when the statement comes in, eyebrows raised at some of his larger purchases. Sick of being under their watchful eyes and wanting some semblance of independence, Naveen has started doing the one thing he never thought he would voluntarily do — get a job so he can have some financial freedom of his own. There’s only one problem with that: after spending his whole life refusing to do any sort of hard work or manual labour, Naveen is a notoriously bad employee. While he has no problem charming his way into the job despite having not marketable skills to speak of, it’s keeping the job he has a problem with. Whether he’s being fired for not doing any work, doing the job poorly, or simply breaking things around the establishment because his best isn’t quite good enough, he hasn’t held a single job for more than a few weeks. He’s at a crossroads between deciding whether he should actually roll up his sleeves and work hard for the first time in his life, or throw in the towel and accept his parents conditions for his frivolous spending.
