Honestly I think as a whole the shifting community needs to do better research on the things we use as methods and assistants in our shifting journey. A lot of them (not all) will have a connection to a cultural or spiritual origin which then gets erased as time progresses. So we gotta be better at catching that stuff.

I know people aren’t spreading things with malice intent but it should still be something we keep in mind.

Ex: using moon water as a shifting assistant.

The idea of moon water is present in witchcraft and pagan religions, it isn’t routed in shifting but in spiritual beliefs and rituals and if you are a baby shifter who may not know that you could be spreading misinformation by accident.

(I’m not saying you can’t use moon water, I’m just saying know the history of it.)

@peachshifting - this peach lip balm! for obvious reasons ur vibe + aesthetic is always so nice and sweet! and this lip balm does smell delicious! smth abt it always makes me a go :) it's just a funky little peach

@romeshifting - my highlighter! it's the oldest one i have (& my favorite) and you were one of if not THE first shiftblr i found! also, the case is blue and gold, which i feel fits your blog aesthetic (also the name rome makes me think of like. royalty and elegant aesthetics)

@shifting-lark - this french rosemary mint soap that i do not know how I got! presumably it's from my mother bc it's french but who knows. i literally found it in like, a linen bag with 3 coins, a bouncy ball, and a hershey's kiss. but it's here, it's green and it has a powerful chaotic energy to me.

@stimmingandshifting - my fidget spinner that i got a few years ago in New York! it's one of my few stim toys and I appreciate it despite the metallic noise it makes whenever you use it. It has kind of an oil slick color thing going on? Which is just rainbow enough that my gay little brain decided to get it. It invokes Energy Burst Hyperfocus Mode

@shifting-inspos - my red lighter from Walmart! I carry this around w me whenever I go out, usually in the pocket of one of my leather jackets or in my mini backpack. It gives me confidence and kinda also makes me more calm and chill? I just like having a lighter lmao

@shiftingscience - my beloved copy of The Orphic Hymns! It's academic as well as spiritual (for me at least), and it's very interesting to read the notes for the hymns and the deeper meanings behind them! Like how your blog combines science & shifting, which is one of my favorite topics tbh, I love theorizing about shifting though I often approach it a bit more theologically
