so im back on my parental figure tenna bullshit

ykh tenna mentioned how he was trying his best to be a distraction for kris and asriel when toriel and asgore were fighting a lot before they finally divorced? yeah i havent been able to STOP thinking about that so i just. points at him. hes protective of those kids, trust me. im sure that if he learned what susies home life is like, he'd do everything he could to 'distract' her from it all, too. he cant do much, he cant fix what's wrong, or help them get out. but he can bask them in the light from his screen and shine away the dark, even if only for a little while.

hi its past midnight and im busy being insane about tenna. but like- specifically thoughts of him being another weird wacky semi-parental figure added to the fun gang

ik in his "canon" route hes happily being adored by mettaghost, but. i can imagine that maybe metta and kris/susie get to know each other and just. metta either just lets the two borrow his tv (which they ask to borrow a lot for some reason???) and they bring tenna to the dark world town just to hang out and play games for a bit, and/or kris/susie befriend metta and whenever they crash at his place, tenna peeks through in their dreams, in the darkness of their minds. neither of them ever have nightmares whenever hes there making them do rpgs in their sleep

ANYWAYS. so like. tenna admitted to watching kris grow up- he saw like. 80% of their life, he could so step up because asgore and toriel. arent, currently. seriously, think about, like tenna finding a kris thats momentarily freed from player control having a panic attack for. a multitude of reasons, and he calms them down by putting on a show from when kris was like a tot and bouncing them on his knee, just like asgore used to do. i think kris would cry harder at that but like /pos

and tenna and susie, too!!! they both know what its like to be abandoned!!! if tenna ever learned about susies home-life hes dragging gerson out of the grave and the two of them are going over there to give susies parents a stern talking to. he genuinely loves her enthusiasm for his games- he loves making her smile. she made him feel appreciated after so long of being alone, its only fair he returns the favor!!! he'd call her 'honey' and 'sweetie' and maybe even 'kiddo' and susie would tell him to shut up but internally she'd be sniffling coz.. tv dad...

and ykw? fuck it. hes ralseis dad too, now. tenna in castle town and he helps ralsei figure out new hobbies, things he wants to do for himself. tenna pulling ralsei aside for them to do a private baking show together where they make cake and tenna hypes up ralseis every action until ralsei is just a beaming mess. tenna who shrinks down to give ralsei a hug and offering to play a game with him or lend him an ear whenever ralseis fear of the prophecy gets too much

HE JUST. IMAGINE THE GANG CURLED UP IN FRONT OF HIM IN THE LIGHT WORLD, FALLING ASLEEP WATCHING AN OLD CHILDHOOD MOVIE, AND THE TVS VOLUME STARTS EMITTING A GENTLE, SOOTHING STATIC ONCE THEY'RE ALL SLEEPING, AND TENNA IS SMILING HAPPY WATCHING ALL THE KIDS GETTING JUST TO BE KIDS FOR A MOMENT AND AND JUST. RAGGGH CAN ANYONE HEAR ME FROM MY ENCLOSURE. SHAKES THE BARS. SHAKES THE BARS. LET HIM BE DAD, NOT DADDY, LIKE HOW MOST OF TUMBLR IS MAKING HIM OUT TO BE. LET HIM BE FATHER, PAPA, POPS, EVEN
