I do not know whether I am mourning,
the fate of so many civilizations, languages
and ways of seeing the world,
lost because of the greed of
a handful of men who wanted gold,
five hundred years ago,
as you know best,
Or whether I mourn
that you are gone,
I can not even ask you
how a line drawn on a map
can cause so much destruction
you left me to ponder the horror alone,
leaving me at the edge of a world
I’ll never understand,
while the sights I wanted to see
within my lifetime
The knowledge I craved,
was all within you

Her large, dark eyes are a night sky full of stars — offering a glimpse of the eternal,
containing more wonders than in the whole universe  — the very thing she seeks when she enters mosques and temples though sometimes, it is as though she sees God everywhere and sometimes, she thinks the entire universe can not hold the weight of her love, her passion,
Her warmth  —  it is the only thing that can can make brokenhearted souls feel safe enough to forget their own names  — to forget how to speak — while she paints the word alhamdulillah with a calligraphy brush, reads you a love poem with a subtle trace of idolatry in the way the lover exalts the beloved, her voice is gentle, her fragrance soothing, her touch healing,
Her body  — soft, she is bursting with love. An oasis, with pomegranate trees, she is a rose so lovely it can only bloom in dreams, not here on earth, she is Hope itself  — she is a prayer, she is a vision of Paradise

The Aztecs called this flower cuetlaxochitl and used it to make red dyes. They used the white sap for medicines. These are now known as poinsettias in English after Joel Poinsett, an American botany enthusiast, and are used in Christmas decorations.

Nahuatl words I like:
-Yollohchicahuac (this means "strong heart." I see it as being able to resist temptation, or having high standards)
-Teyollalih ("thing that consoles" I call my diary this.)
-Xochimiqui ("flowery death" a human sacrifice)

The Aztecs believed men who died in battle and women who died in childbirth went to heaven. Childbirth is no less glorious than being a warrior, and no less important to the state.

The world has been destroyed four times before, after all 👍 💯We lost lady Chalchiutlicue with the world of the fourth sun but now we have lord Huitzilopochtli 👍 #aztecmythology

I'm literally obsessed with like every culture but I think the most Chad, based and sigma one is the Sentinelese because they don't allow anyone on their island and are extremely hostile to outsiders (as they should be).

The heart of Mira is entangled
In the beauty of the feet of her Guru;
Nothing else causes her delight!
Mira says: My whole world is Shri Krishna;
Now that my gaze is turned inward,
I see it clearly
