Mobile SEO, what’s that then?

Well, Tumblr is a relatively ‘young persons” platform.  So I’m kind a guessing that everyone who might see this article is a big user of mobile devices.

Now, if ,you are one of those people who has your own website, perhaps because you have a your own business ...then understanding a little more about mobile SEO might be for you...bear with me.

MOBILE SEO and why it should matter to your business. Basically, If you have a website....does it work properly on a mobile Phone? This is what you have to: 1) Ask yourself 2) Go and do some checks 3) Maybe get some help if it doesn’t pass the checks The “Google index” is essentially another term for the Search Engine Results Pages.   A few years ago, Google, decided that due to the increase in mobile traffic to websites, they would switch the way the Google Index worked, to focus on ‘mobile first’. Previously the Google index operated on a ‘Desktop first’ methodology…meaning that Google looked at how websites performed on Computers first before ranking them. So, what does all that mean for you the business owner? Well, it means that each time Google visits your website, it’s looking to see how well it works on a mobile phone /tablet. This brings us back to points 1 and 2. Let’s check.... The first check you should do is go to the mobile friendly test. https://lnkd.in/ecJAMEsr This will tell you if your website is mobile-friendly and whether it has any issues that need addressing. Did it pass? Regardless of the answer...., let’s put a pin in that and do another test. Let’s check the Core Web Vitals.  This is not purely a mobile check but  ‘ Core Web Vitals’ are a set of metrics designed to measure website performance.
