The room for 3 kitties

I’m not sure about this one. It’s nearly out of my comfort zone as I don’t play with cats often, but I have had triplet puppies (in the game). So, in the spirit of Dr. Gluon, [sings] “here we go, here we go, here we go”.

As you walk into the room, you see...

In the center, it’s basically the dining area, for we have a table with fish in it and three feeding stations (pardons, it’s a bit messy right now, for the sim hoomans have left the cat toys on top of the table ;D).

Towards the back is the litterbox station, with private “stalls” for each kitty, kitty protectors, and a poster encouraging the kitties (and sim hoomans) to hang in there. (Side note: the plants were chosen because they reminded me of catnip--sorry, forgot to include a real seed packet in my download. Missed opportunity. :’( Sigh.)

In the center back is a couch for the kitties to jump upon and bother any sim hooman that might want to take a nap or sit and look out the window.

To the right, we have 3 sleeping areas aside a scratching post/tower to try to climb*. *Note: since kitties can’t actually climb (in the game),I made it like an aspiration/goal. When they accomplish it (aka grow-up), the kitties can finally see/get that bug. (Kind of silly, I know..but cute? hehe)

In the corner is a cabinet for “extras” and an extra big bag of cat food (because...3 kitties need feed to grow. hehe) Also note the kitties picture, provided by another fantabulous simmer, Rosemow.  (You can find her on the Sims forums and on the Sims4 gallery at @roseymow) :)

And in the opposite corner, there are a couple of chairs, so the sim hoomans have another place to sit and dote upon their kitties, when the kitties allow such, of course. ;)

I was playtesting my latest build and things went a bit crazy. (Serves me right for testing in Winter, but I got busy, okay?! LOL)

While taking a pic of the front, a random townie died. My sim tried to save him but despite being a global superstar with level 10 charm, he failed. Before we all could process things, another one bites the dust, or rather snow.  Grim showed back up, adjusted to the latest clothes trend (made by my trendsetter in the hat currently crying behind the reaper) and began the reaping process again. This time, I had my global superstar’s wife do the pleading, although she’s a less skilled sim (Yes to the keen-eyed, that’s Summer). She was much more convincing for some reason (the power of pre-made? LOL). We were all so grateful that Summer gave Grim an autograph. :D

That’s life in The Sims.

Life with the Leonards

I took a break from my legacy save (again) to explore a bit more of another simmer’s save (jenba-sims). Anyway, I’m currently in the Leonard household. The family dynamic intrigued me and I felt compelled to explore this different take on love/obligation. The Story: the husband & wife are pretty much estranged (the relationship is listed as a “bad match” in the relationship panel) and it seems they stay together out of obligation more than love. In my game, Conrad (the husband) has found some love outside the marriage (my guess is he’s excited to feel desirable), but the wife (Sienna) has only a relationship with her sons, Edward (father unknown) and a little “preemie” named Jefferson. Sienna’s a non-committal sim but she does love her boys*. (*See the wonderful backstory provided by the creator at the end of this story) Shortly after I arrived in the house, I see the love/hate between Conrad and Sienna. He tries to flirt with her but she brushes him off. They yell and insult each other on a whim. Sienna finds comfort in painting and admiring the artwork in the house. Conrad takes out his frustrations by writing short stories and playing games.

One day, after work, the “other woman”, Ingrid, calls Conrad to go out to the club. He says yes. After some dancing and a few drinks, things heat up dramatically, and before you know it, they’re in the closet doing the woohoo. (Oh, my) During the act, Conrad discovers a secret about Ingrid – she’s an alien!! He’s not afraid (he’s a big geek, so sci-fi is awesome), but he hasn’t much time to process things because off to work he must go again. (yes, he stayed out all night–naughty man) >}:-)  Meanwhile, at home, the kids entertain each other with this new object the house just got–a chessboard and Sienna finds herself looking for something to do. Conrad arrives home from work and Sienna comes over and hollers “where have you been?!?” Conrad replies “I’m sorry baby, I had this big deadline at work and had to go in early”. Sienna is relieved that he’s back and expresses to him she needs some fun. Conrad whispers to her, “I know what you need” and they go under the covers for a bit of woohoo. Later that night when the household is asleep, Conrad is compelled to check out a light outside the house. Ingrid’s “friends” have come to probe Conrad! ✨ The next morning, he wakes with a tummy ache. He’s having trouble accepting the news and talks it over with a friend over a game of chess. Sienna notices his stomach is growing and also talks with Conrad. He tells her about the weird light (omitting the Ingrid fling) and they wonder together what could it be?! Three days later, he’s admitted to the hospital and Ruby is born. Both parents are flabbergasted with the news, but decide to take the little girl home and care for her as one of their own. After all, their family is already blended with the boys, so what’s one more? Winter comes and goes, Ruby is a toddler now exploring all over the place; the boys are doing well in school and are getting along great for the most part. Jefferson loves his science table (present from mom&dad) and Edward loves to draw and occasionally bang around on this small piano his stepdad got him for Winterfest. It’s Love Day in the house today. Jefferson is nervous about completing his resolution on time, but goes to school and has a good day. Edward though has an awful day because the card he designed is rejected and tossed aside. Edward comes home dejectedly and gives a flower to his mom, but she doesn’t like it. “It’s like school all over again!” he yells at Sienna. Mom comforts him and he feels better and he goes out to complete a project with Jefferson (who’s happy because he just finished his resolution). Conrad comes home from work and he and Sienna celebrate the rest of Love Day together. Early that next morning (about 4am, still dark out), Conrad gets a (booty)call from Ingrid to meet him at the bluffs. He quietly gets up from the bed and sends her a loving email and then starts to write a new short story book. As he finishes the book, he’s called to investigate another light outside. He comes back from his little tip feeling very focused and a bit hungry, so he gets something to eat. While the watcher (me) is getting the rest of the house up and ready for the day, I hear that eery alien sound….yup, he has another tummy ache. Here we go again! 👀 ✨😆

So, uh…was playing my Suess legacy family Saturday night and this happened. No biggie, right? Cow plants have a ridiculously short shelf life after about a sim week (in my gameplay).  Anyway... I thought the cow plant had died, but then I saw an action queued up from my sim to play with the plant (autonomously). But, I looked at the plant and it appeared totally dead. So I did some testing. The sim could [attempt to] feed it, milk it (received an essence of happiness from a ghost that was apparently eaten recently), play with and pet it. So weird. Stuck it in the family inventory (away with that demon! lol).

PS. Had a fun video of this testing, but it has yet to render after two days, so scrapping it for this post. Hmmph. Luckily, I took a screenshot along with the video, so I have the visual.

Tried a Build and Share challenge

Still crying big, ugly tears about the screenshots situation The Sim Gurus say a fix is pending, but it can’t get here fast enough, IMHO. heh

In the meantime, it’s not stopping me from building, as I won’t improve if I don’t do. For better (or worse), I’m into modern builds again--still obsessed with Seasons content, though. It makes for an interesting style of building. Perhaps they’re ugly, or even fugly. Ahh, live and learn...and get Luvs.

Anyway, saw the latest challenge by the Build&Share simmers for a starter home, and decided to try. Here are the (blurry) results:  BnS CHALLENGE #101 - Five by Five the basics - create a starter home (20k including lot price) using only 25 squares, any style. Lot price: 17858 built on Streamlet Single lot in Willow Creek (20x15) Total price (w/lot): $19858 *Because I didn’t recall at the time of building how much the lot was, I played it safe and made an 18K build. So your sim may have some spending cash depending on which lot picked ;D

Unfortunately, I confess to using the moveobjects cheat on this one, but it helped the details look a bit better. The lot is playtested though and the only “issue” I had was the sim not being able to view a poster on the wall. A little catch-up & share session

I’m trying to hold off on playing my legacy family at the moment while the gallery screenshots being blurry fix is pending. It’s hard to do -- there’s so much story to do with them yet! I have been trying to do a house update for them with a lovely mansion I found in the gallery recently.Although, I’m a bit anxious at the thought of boxing up all the collectibles in the current house and finding a place in the new house for it all. I know I can save it to the gallery and re-download, but I’m worried about ownership glitches. :/ Anyway...

I’ve added a few things up on The Sims 4 gallery lately (when it lets me, that is XD)

A 2 bedroom, 1 and a half bath Contemporary Home: A lot of the Spa Day stuff pack in this one, I was inspired by an IRL house online.

A little 2 bedrooms /2 bath starter home (20.5 K simoleons build) PS. forgive me for the roof, I was simming late at night and didn’t realize until I woke up later that I’d forgotten to “prettify” [the roof]. Whoops! XD

And, a Countrified house (kind of a Farmhouse): Used only base game, Seasons, and 1 item from Get Together (the closet, because...well, you-know. ;D) it’s 35K, fit for a family of 4, and it’s currently one story--although you could get more (sims/pets) in there--expand it further. I left a gardening treat within when I was playtesting for anyone that downloads (head start on making the simoleons to help keep up with the inevitable bills on this place. heh) I personally like the house plan on this one.

I also tossed up my sims from the Socialist challenge as well as their home at the beginning of the challenge, which could double for anyone wanting to play the asylum challenge, too (although you’d have to downgrade the beds first for that challenge, I think)

Random thoughts from a Simmer

I’ve been itching to do a challenge for a while now. The socialism challenge has picqued my interest. And, I’d love to be in another person’s save--leaning heavily towards one of Jenba’s saves at the moment. ~swoons at how gorgeous her builds are~ Would love to also have recorded content for viewing. A couple of potential problems: I’m a total newb at recording stuff and unlike my sim(s), don’t have the $$$ (if only one could motherlode IRL - even if I haven’t in the game for a long while (too boring to do that via game these days for me. lol). )

What to do? Would anyone watch? Does that matter?Does anyone care? Perhaps not. (not really - but the gratification is nice) But, like the title says, these are just random thoughts about Sims swirling in my head at the moment.

PS. I’m not abandoning other storylines I’ve featured on my Tumblr. Just considering adding to them. Perhaps I sound like a sadist, but sometimes I can’t help where my creative mind decides to flow, only steer it along some sort of logical path. :D

Hi, ho, Into Build Mode I Go!

I decided to update one of the houses I built with Seasons content today, particularly my Pumpkin Patch house. It’s technically a smaller version of the original–main change being removing the largest bedroom/master bath and replacing it with a greenhouse. Here’s the entrance, with Patchy greeting all that come by…

The other major change is to the roof(s) - the original house was made before octagonal rooves were added). 

The living room/dining area, kitchen…all open concept. There’s room for a tree when seasons change.

No fireplaces, but there is central air/heat. ;) The study area…some seasons furniture swaps here.

Two bedrooms: 1 double bed, 2 single beds

(Only 1 full bath, with seasons plumbing added.) And the garden/greenhouse area

I realized (after upload - groan) that I forgot the curtains. Whoops! Well, that’s something that can be easily added, to each simmers/sims own tastes. 

—————————————————– Also, saw a post of a gaming room on Twitter…built one like it in the Sims. It’s not an exact replica - I used the picture as an inspiration spark and went from there.  Playtested it…the sims can access the electronics, coffee, sofa, tv. (yay!)

Both the“’Season’ed Pumpkin House” and “Gaming Room” are available for download on The Sims 4 gallery. Note: I haven’t blogged everything I’ve built. Might want to give me a follow on the gallery as well as here so you can be in the know and have first access when I do upload something. *grin*

Winter Wonderland

Thanks to SimsVIP’s generosity, I have been enjoying the Seasons DLC. <3 I’m not particularly great at screenshots, but I kind of love how this shot came out, so sharing it. 

This is a starter house I made just before the Seasons pack came out, using only the base game contents. I designed it to be easily expanded upon depending on one’s game. If you have the Sims 4, you can download it via the gallery. 

I’ve since added other contents into it for my own game. So, some objects pictured here may not be in the gallery version. (ex. the holiday decor). 

And, thanks to all that have already downloaded the house. Every single download/favorite has made my day. :D

My Attempt: #FlipThis June Challenge

I’ve not done a build for a hot minute via The Sims (4) due to a lull in creativity and sims glitches annoying me in any attempts to grow any creativity sparks (no blame - it happens), But, I have persisted, as a creative little simmer does, and have pulled my hair out to bring you this show today.  (okay, not literally, but I’ve worked long and hard.  So, let’s get into it already. ;P heh) ---------------

This challenge is created by GavinSims0 The challenge: FlipThis (house) June Basic premise -- Take the house provided and Flip it into something different (hopefully better to help it “sell” -- like one of those house reality shows). What it turns into is decided by a random roll. For more details, refer to the above link. ------- My random roll (picked by Google): 4 So, the house becomes either townhouses or apartments. After a half hour of back and forth in my head looking at the property, I choose apartments. (Mistake #1? Or perhaps #2 after choosing to do the challenge in the first place. lol!) ***One note: I try to make my houses playable for the most part. The clutter and use of the MoveObjects cheat do hinder this build a bit. However, it’s easily fixable by either deleting/moving item(s). 

I do the upstairs first because I’m drawn up to it and seeing more of a layout for it. So here we go. View from the top:

I imagined maybe a dedicated working-class family to be living here.  They buy quality things as their budget allows and kind of spoil the kids because they don’t have much room.

Kitchen Kind of trendy, brown/orange, lots of storage 2 bedrooms --master bedroom**  --kids room**  1 full bathroom **Recommendations: delete the hamper, move the bookcase from master BR, and move the kid’s clutter if/when playing in the house.

Outdoor dining areas:

There is a “communal” half bath downstairs if needed. (recommend moving the sink to the corner of the room before playing). This room can easily be turned into a laundry area if you want.

Downstairs apartment:  (and a view of the communal 1/2 bath and hallway areas)

I have imagined an older couple residing here, trying to enjoy whatever time they have left after the kid(s) have grown. No problems playtesting down here except for the aforementioned 1/2 bath and the fact that sims can’t sit on that one living chair w/o moving the ottoman first (placed that way for looks).And, probably can’t fix/upgrade the tv from that position (but, these downstairs sims have money, right?). So, yeah. :D I also imagined this couple having a cat, and liking outdoor activities, drinking tea, and cooking (looking up recipes via the nearby computer). lol Living room

This is a short story about Jeremy, my eldest boy in Gen. 2 of my Suess legacy. He’s been quite a smart boy from the beginning, all the way from the days he was snatching food from his parents that had just put food down on the table to eat. (Stinker! lol) Of course, in school, he was an A student, but his talents/skills have always been more diversified thanks to his doting grandma and his own desires to learn more. 

During his teen years. (1st picture)

he decides he wants to explore the world, especially the Latin culture. His best friend is Damon Lobo, (2nd picture)

someone with shared interests and always there for him. Jeremy has kind of crushed on Damon subconsciously since they were kids, wanting to look at the clouds with him often; however, they after talking, they came to an understanding that while Damon is his ‘ride-or-die’ friend, it would never be anything more. Jeremy tries to keep his options open, and several girls are interested, especially Claire Landgraab although she kind of gets mad at Jeremy when she sees him playing the field at the local department store.

Jeremy grows up well; he’s the top of his class, a seasoned explorer and a responsible, caring sim (with lots of guidance/discipline along the way). He begins his career as a doctor and works hard to get to the top. He has only one thing missing: a soulmate, or at least someone to love. Jeremy does have urges, though...once he found this older woman in the city and had a good little make-out session. (3rd pic)

He also has flirted a bit with a cute little redhead named Gianni at work, but things cooled when he found out he was married.  His friend Damon also married a girl recently. Jeremy’s parents keep asking him about his future plans. Even his grandma gets on the bandwagon. "Gah! Get off my case, everyone!" Jeremy exclaims and storms off in a huff. Jeremy joins “Simder”, but nothing really develops, although he has many interested (male and female). So, he focuses his efforts on his baby brother, Cody, helping him grow into a good sim.

[watcher side note]: Between you and me, this is an arduous task at times, for Cody is not quite as smart, but Cody admires his brother so that he doubles his efforts to please Jeremy.

When Cody becomes a teen, Jeremy introduces him to the jungle that he has grown to love. (4th pic)

It’s on this trip that Jeremy meets Simón, and he falls hard - it really is love at first sight. So, he takes the leap, and... Simón accepts him! Cody sits back and grins -- he’s so happy for his big brother! Oh, happy day, calloo, callay! (5th pic)

After the trip, Jeremy nervously sits down with his family and talks about all that has transpired. He needs not have worried, for his family is so happy that he finally has found someone. 

Jeremy and Simón are to be married this June.

Technical difficulties

I’m having an issue in my screenshots folder, so sharing screenies is a bit difficult at the moment. Working it out, though.

In the meantime, here’s a pic of my gen 1 sim getting abducted. (Unlike the vampires, those aliens always seem to be fascinated with my sims. I’ll take it as a compliment because my sims are usually hella talented. ;D)

This is Cupcake and the little bitch has ruled the roost in Gen 2 of my Suess legacy. She loves to be cuddled, hates the dishwasher, and after a wild day in the park with a dog called Baloo, had triplets of which she has fought with since, mainly over food (which there is plenty of, but anyway). 

She’s just become an elder dog in my let’s play. So, Happy (last) birthday, Cupcake! :)

Time for a little something different (for me here). Here are some highlights from my uploads to the Sims 4 gallery. First one is currently my most downloaded item -- a vampire gym (all sims may use, of course, though toddlers should probably be left at daycare); Second is currently my most downloaded room -- a stage. I’m still a bit perplexed as to its popularity, it’s just a simple build from a spark of inspiration but think it’s cool it’s liked so. Third is from a group of sims I made in answer to a call from The English Simmer for her new asylum challenge (they’re all entitled “gone mental #” in case you’re looking for more). A super-cool note is that Mollie gave me kudos for this sim on her socials, and I know from personal experience he’s fun to play (and ages well, I think). Last up is a personal favorite because I’m a #Heartie, which is a fan of the show “When Calls the Heart”. I don’t profess to be great at making true-to-life copies, these sims are more personality-driven. My particular faves of this playtested bunch is one I like to call “the onion” (Henry Gowen) and maybe Abigail because she’s a dang fine cook here although they each have a place in my heart. <3

Drama in Brindleton Bay

My game took a turn for the 'dark side' today and I feel the need to share a bit if that's okay.

Preface: I do use MC Command Center in my game just so NPC sims have their own backstories/lives.

Today, the drama started in my legacy save thanks to this mod. ;D The day started as any other, the family had gathered together to help the youngest complete his last project before school so he's assured an excellent student (he's about to graduate).

and their Afterward, the teen went to school and my oldest/heir got a call from the guy she's seeing to meet her for a breakfast date at a nice little restaurant in Newcrest.

[pictured: Jalisa and Cliff Fyres] They had a wonderful breakfast, buzzed on breakfast wine, and one thing led to another. It had them going “Woohoo!” ;D

She took him home with her so they could chill and hang out a bit (and so her parents can talk further with the lad). All get along well and Cliff headd back home to the city.

Later that night, Neal called Cliff on behalf of the family to tell him thanks for the day and learned some devastating news. It appears Cliff was accosted on the way back home by a neighbor girl named Evie who had just been chastised by her mom for not being “more like her big brother”.  Evie saw Cliff walking home in a dreamy state after a long day, led him over to have a bit of her ‘special energy drink’ and proceeded to rape him. Cliff got out of there as quick as possible but the damage was done. And, the seed was planted. After getting off the phone, Neal followed up by first calling Evie to see what she’d say (not much) and then he called her brother Pierce for reinforcements while waited for his sister to awaken.

Then, Neal woke up Jalisa and broke the news. She thanked her brother and immediately called Cliff to support him in what happened. Cliff invited her to the park and they started talking/comforting each other.

Neal had other ideas, though and invited Evie to the park to show her what she had done to us all. 

Neal and Evie show up but she seems oblivious to what’s happening and proceeds to gab on the phone.

But, Jalisa noticed her and staked her claim one last time before getting into it with the girl.

Then, they all got something to eat (Neal being a good bro and distracting Cliff) and she gave Evie the tongue-lashing of her life. 

It was so good, she ended up peeing herself at the end - a bit of justice served.

Where will they go from here? Well, Cliff doesn’t want to press charges due to the embarrassment of the situation. Jalisa will support Cliff as he deals with this ordeal (and as they wait for the baby to be born). They’re all taking it one step at a time. Hopefully, this is the best decision, but time will tell.

In the meantime, I hope you’ve enjoyed this dramatic story from my simming life.

Day 40 - Island Challenge (pic) The islanders come together for their morning meal - left to right: Hannah, JJ, English, Violet, Pear, Drake/Aubrey, and James.

Sleep is a precious commodity these days. Everyone wants it and only those lucky enough to snag a bed can get some properly.

Dice roll is a 7 (6+1 [gulp]) and 5 new twigs have floated to the island. Total twig count: 30

We can't decide what to do with the twigs as a group, so we'll think on it a while.
