5 Great Shinee Songs That Aren’t Title Songs

Shinee is one of those groups that have a great discography. And I’m not even talking about only their title songs. I’m talking about their side tracks. They’ve released 5 Korean albums throughout their almost 10 years as a group, so I wanted to express my feelings about certain Shinee songs that just need more love! With that being said, these are my own opinions, and this list in in order from their oldest album to their newest ones. This list will not include their Japanese songs.

1. Y Si Fuera Ella (Jonghyun Solo) - The Shinee World (2008)

This song, oh boy THIS song, is amazing and honestly, it was a great way to show case Jonghyun’s vocal abilities. It’s emotional and sad, but also just so pleasantly sang. It was a smart move on SM to include a member with a solo song on this album, and honestly, it was also very understandable. Jonghyun has a great voice (that’s an understatement), and the song really just…look. I don’t want to keep on repeating myself, so go watch (or rewatch) the video to understand why it’s my favorite side track in the album.

2. Alarm Clock - Sherlock (2012)

Alarm Clock is another slow song by Shinee, and honestly, I think the reason I like it so much is because of the harmonica sounding instrument that plays throughout the entire song. It’s got a very simple instrumental to support the vocals, and I really don’t hear much about the song! It was a great song to include in the Sherlock album, and I don’t really have much to say on it besides it’s got great instrumentals, and I like it - simply put.

3. Hitchhiking - Dream Girl - The Misconceptions of You (2013)

When I first heard Hitchhiking, I thought “This sounds like it’d be a totally cool introduction song!”. I dunno if that makes sense to many people reading this, haha, but if you watch this video to Hitchhiking, you’ll get what I’m saying. It has this proud, badass, almost tv show-like, feel to it, ya know? It’s one of the best Shinee songs in my opinion, and of course, Key’s English is always a pleasure to listen to.

4. Trigger - Odd (2015)

First, let me just say that SW5’s performance OF THIS SONG IS AMAZING! It’s got lazers and has more of a physical (fighting wise?) element to it that will just blow your minds. Just look up performances of this song at SW5 and you’ll understand. Anyways, Trigger is a very…odd song (haha) that’s hard for me to describe. But the dance to this song perfectly describes how I feel like it would be as a dance? Trigger has a very…spy/fighting/hostage sorta vibe to it that is hard to explain. But…yeah if you watch how it’s performed at SW5, this all will make sense. 

5. Don’t Let Me Go - 1 of 1 (2016)

Don’t Let Me Go immediately became my favorite song in the 1 of 1 album because of how it felt so bitter and yet had that Christmas feel to it. It’s that song you’d listen to on a rainy day or snowy night? It’s just - oh! Such a good song and all the members really get to show their great singing voices! Key gets his spotlight, and Minho does as well (he did a great job with this song especially). Lyrics wise, it’s extremely sad, but I love it. No matter what mood I’m in, I never skip this song.
