i am not too giddy about artfight this year, but i still want to participate. the only scenario in which i don't participate is if the theme is lovestruck vs heartbreak (unlikely. people other than me thought it was bad).

i was thinking of adding something along the lines of "if you like my art and are willing to do this, please try using words other than "i love" when you compliment my art" to my pinned post. my brain can't comprehend words with abstract/unclear meanings like love and i really, really prefer that others use more descriptive words like "care" or "enjoy" or whatever if they want to express positive feelings they have for my art.

same goes for the word "artstyle". what do you mean by artstyle? is it the flatcolors, the linework, the composition, the shape language? what is it? ...you can imagine how incomprehensible the sentence "i love your artstyle" is to me.

by the way, i'm not afraid of asking for this. i know i'm just one artist--a sand particle in a desert--and if anyone gets mad at me asking for this they're getting mad at a single person's wish.

ONE YEAR OF BEING A FRIENDLESS LOSER

i still don't have any art to show, but happy aplatonic visibility day. i didn't talk much about it here but i consider myself demiplatonic and it's an important label for me. it's a neat way to describe how i form and deal w/ friendships.

as much as i enjoy depicting friendship in my art, i don't consider it to be the most important thing in life for everybody. it isn't! some of us can live without friends and be fulfilled individuals. unfortunarely i didn't know about this before and my views were very platonormative. i definitely compensated for being aromantic by trying to value friendship as much as i can, since platonic attraction is the only attraction i feel. but i changed and that's what's important.
