allllllright so some of you might have noticed @titanfalling just up and vanished overnight a couple of days ago -- my old acct was terminated for reasons beyond me and despite me and some friends all contacting support to figure out what the hell happened and get my shit back, we've heard fuckall and i don't anticipate that changing. i'll be thrilled if it does, but 'til then this blog is where i'm at now!

interrupting the bday celebrations to say st. vincent's volcano la soufriere on their largest island chain just erupted and the smoke rose to 10km in the air, and ash is falling heavily.

st. vincent is a very small island in the caribbean - much smaller than that of my own country and my country is like a dot on the world map - of only 100k+ citizens and at least 7,000 people were told to evacuate. this is the first eruption since 1979. st. vincent is a predominantly black country, and as of now i haven't seen any docs detailing how to help as yet from the people. all i can do is hope that we can boost this and send them our love and support.

Quelling the Tumblrcryptid Panic

OK so there’s a lot of posts out there where the op actually believes the tumblrcryptid joke is an NFT.

It’s not. If you look at the code, you can see this is a randomizer that picks a random image, some text from a list of lines, and one of your tags. 

And I actually researched this so I could tell you (due to some panic in the comments of these posts) you can’t accidentally reblog art that’s connected to NFTs and/or blockchain. That’s not how it works. Cryptocurrency is a very complicated thing. You can’t do anything to stop the “spread” of NFT art. You can’t accidentally support it. You must deliberately involve yourself. 

The tumblr cryptids shit is a poor attempt to read the room by @staff, who saw that a bunch of people were posting about it and thought it would be perfect for a joke. Rather than raise awareness about how solving one single “problem” on the block chain can use as much energy as one small country in a whole day, they decided to make a cute randomizer that poses itself as an NFT. 

You are NOT contributing to the cryptocurrency problem by playing with this. You are NOT a bad person if you posted one. You aren’t even on the cryptocurrency radar. 

PLEASE REBLOG THIS POST. A lot of people have anxiety about this shit, and the immediate panic by people who don’t understand is harming them!

The day is here! We’re finally circling back to a project I started ALL the way in February!! I wanted to capture a part of the game that was personally very important to me, and that’s the utter creativity of the community!  Something that really captivated me about being in and around this community was how driven the fan content was and how friendly it could get here. The flower kids came out on top in my heart and I feel really lucky to be able to capture this!
