Which cartoon was the hardest to create and which were the easiest? Like background, drawing, etc

Mirphy here, I drew Tellie once and then never again because he’s so difficult to draw…as for difficulty creating? Hm I’m not sure! Emotionally I’d say Slishy slasher because she represents a very difficult period of my life with so much history and emotional rawness.

How did yall start working together?

We started out as a small crew making a collaborative online storybook (the stars and blue) and then slowly added on more and more people! Mostly mutuals and friends and friends of friends!

Can you scare the Vamp away with Garlic? And if so, is it because it can actually harm them, or because of the stereotype that vampires hate garlic being baked into his (her?) character?

The latter, but if you didn’t believe in its power the garlic/stake wouldn’t work.

is the in universe team not very interested in video games or is this something that may end up covered later? I wonder because it seems to me that Maisy at the very least would have a few video games branded after her and yet among the numerous things we know about her assortment of memorabilia I don't believe her having any games came up

Honestly I’m not sure, it’s a bit outside our scope/capabilities rn and I’m not feeling artistically enthused about exploring the concept rn. Maybe in the future!

Alongside Welcome Home, this may be one of my favorite unreality projects being made in current day. I’m rooting for you guys to do well.

Speaking of Welcome Home, I’m sure you’ve gotten this question before so you can ignore this one, but are you aware of it? And if so, what’s your opinion of it?

I am aware of it—waiting to fully check it out until it is finished.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what to say about this project (dw it’s all good things) which is why this answer took a while.

What I appreciate about WH is that it, and of course it is not the first but it is a major instance of, a cartoon/puppet/mascot horror story not forgoing the very real politics of the time period it is aesthetically influenced by. I discussed this a bit over on bluesky but so many of the nostalgia retro based horror games these days want to have their cake and eat it. They want to use the visuals, the clothing, the music, the art, the movements, of the 80’s 60’s 30’s etc but they also remove the politics and uglier aspects of the time period in order to be marketable and easily consumable.

Ultimately those stories are very shallow, they do not reflect the full potential of a story discussing these time periods and they also flatten it into a 2d/3d festival of aesthetics while ignoring the things that made these times important, scary, sad, and influential. Off the top of my head I’d say an example would be how much nostalgia based 30’s horror uses jazz music and black art/culture while neglecting to reflect on the experiences of the black people who created those things in the first place!!! It’s annoying! It’s a disservice.

With welcome home I think it’s important because it does not do this, it takes a look at American suburbia of yesteryear and despite the surface level colors and patterns it shows how ultimately empty and isolating it is. People trapped in their homes in a vague definition of community and not just people but disabled people who suffer by the nature of how suburbia is intended to function. Ultimately I think the project is really wonderful, it uses its aesthetics to lull you into a past that contained atrocities and horrors and when it has you/its characters alone it springs them on you. And you are alone, you are now helpless, and the neighbors that you see every day are no longer there, it’s just you and a home that muffles your screams. Things are not going wrong in the neighborhood. Things are working exactly as intended, the pillars and structures were made to act this way, to break you down, it’s by design.

Tldr, the project is something really special.
