Metal Charged Attacks
The final segment! The end of the series you can find here! Months ago, before starting on this project, despite literally years of work on this setting, there were no Charged Attacks. As of this year, now there are. Some things really do take time, so try not to beat yourself up about them! (Says me who struggles with that) Anyway!
Slag Burst was the first one of its kind, and it is a nightmare. The second this Charged Attack makes contact, waves of rippling metal surge outward with terrifying force. These waves blast out, seem to "halt," and then freeze into layers of razor-sharp metal crystals. Where enemies or objects act as a wavebreak, crystal formations suddenly erupt like sharp coral breaking free of the depths to claim the surface, causing more damage. Similar random coral formations can be found strewn throughout the resulting structure.
TL; DR: This AoE attack will damage and repel enemies within range via waves of liquid metal, and any enemy or object acting as a "wavebreak" will experience sudden "coral" formation-think bismuth crystal-which deals additional damage and can catch or slow the opponent as the waves of liquid metal momentarily harden. This attack can Bleed and Immobilize opponents, for obvious reasons. The resulting structure is also not good to touch.
Rising Tower came second, and is a lot like the final battles in Kingdom Hearts 2. It basically manifests a block of steel the height of a Minecraft tree, with a steeple on top and rectangular white or yellow crystal patches set into the sides to evoke a skyscraper. And not just in looks either! It actually evokes the mass and force of a falling skyscraper, making it impossible to Block or Guard against this attack without being crushing between Tower and ground, and with the length and size of this construct it's not easy to dodge unless you use its relatively slow Charge time to get a head start! And with its size and range, dodging it isn't so easy either, even with its relatively slow Charge timer! In fact, this attack can be executed as either a straightforward slam, or a batter's swing!
Next, Flying Shrapnel is a simple projectile-wave Charged Attack that deals Bleed damage, has limited Armor Penetration, and makes the opponent weaker to certain types of damage (like Metal, Ice, and Electric). When executed, or when Charging, this Charged Attack will deflect most projectiles back at the target and enhance their DMG as well.
Third, Resounding Impact is interesting, as it can summon several concentric rings of spikes-like that first dude you fight in Horizon Forbidden West-or summon a giant blade or column up from the ground to smash into a target. See, for reasons not fully understood, Metal in Alendyias tends to reflect other’s magic, or in other words external magic tends to override or supercede Metal. Metal magic is a recessive trait, and everything else is dominant. Resounding Strike flips that on its head, forcing the ground or other surfaces to reflect and echo metal, manifesting out of raw energy a field of spikes or columns…..or, if one used a hammer or sword to stab the ground, with sufficient expertise, making a giant blade or column of metal rise up some distance away with considerable speed and force.
TL;DR: Ever wanted to raise spikes from the ground, or make a giant sword thrust up from the ground? This CA can do that. It's good as an earthquake-style AoE, or for projecting your weapon up from the ground some distance away when executing a ground slam.
Renewed Edge is very different. It is more philosophically viewed, and closely tied to “Blademasters”, “Dualists”, and others claiming a mastery of self and sword. When successfully executed, this "Daring" strike sends the user flying through the air or along the ground in a streak of flashing steel, delivering a thrust or slash. It then increases the user’s Attack and Speed and boosts their Stamina, rejuvenating them and strengthening their attack, and potentially allowing them to A) continue executing Renewed Edge and B) becoming stronger as they do. It only stacks up to 5 times currently. Making the user, oh, 30% stronger each time. Meaning a full 5 stacks will increase the user’s Attack by 150% and prevent their Stamina from depleting for about a full minute. This is known as the “Ascendant” state.
TL;DR: Charge up blade. Dash through air or over ground to deliver a swift thrust or slash. Successfully landing this "Renewed Edge" attack increases Attack and Speed and awards Stamina. Using that Stamina to ready this attack again will instantly Recharge the blade, and successfully landing Renewed Edge several times puts you in an "Ascendant" state that increases your attack and speed massively while preventing Stamina from depleting for a full minute.
Alright, that’s all of the currently existing Charged Attacks! (The previous ones can be found here.) If you want a chapter on specifically Force Charged Attacks, do let me know. You can also request a post on:

Poison Charged Attacks
Part 8 of 9! Feel free to check out this post if you want to see the previous ones in this series! Anyway. On to the good stuff. Concentration basically Charges up stacks of Poison Element, literally concentrating the Poison inside the weapon. This applies a multiplier on the Poison damage inflicted by the following attack, based on how many stacks were accrued, if one can successfully inflict the Poison condition with said attack. Don’t worry, Concentrated Poison is more likely to overcome Poison Resistance, for reasons which should be obvious. Spreading Poison’s name is counterintuitive; it’s not an AoE. Spreading Poison drenches the victim in sticky poison, or injects them with a virulent poison (the poison is both, to clarify, THE POISON IS BOTH), so the victim upon biting clawing touching or bleeding on another entity might spread the Poisoned condition. The potency of the Poison and how likely it is to spread is determined by the user’s Poison affinity. So, essentially, Spreading Poison is like dunking someone in sewage or radioactive sludge, and the more potently your Poison Magic, the more likely it is that the sewage or radioactive sludge affects others contacted by the victim. Fuming Poison, however, is an AoE. It wafts outward from its initial burst, dissipating quickly but still having range beyond its immediate impact. This attack is especially effective at inflicting Poison, but can also negatively affect breathing and thus Stamina regeneration, as well as irritating the eyes to reduce Perception and perhaps even Blind foes.  Piercing Fang is basically Piercing Thorn or Piercing Frost, except it can Poison enemies. Acid Mantle is a defensive Poison technique that sheathes the weapon in an acid coating, reducing the damage taken when Guarding (blocking attacks) with that weapon and Corroding attackers or their weapons when they strike the Guard. Every hit the Mantle takes reduces the Mantle’s durability….which is determined by Poison Affinity (how connected you are to Poison Magic, or how potently you can wield it). Countering does not consume Mantle durability, however, attacking an opponent with a Mantled weapon will. Yes, this means there is a short window after each impact where a Mantle will ignore additional impacts, and yes that means executing a Combo with a Mantled weapon will only count as a single hit to the Mantle’s durability. Esurine Venom is an Acid-based Poison Attack that not only Corrodes objects and enemies, but has a Lifesteal effect that grants HP and Stamina alike to the user. It deals extra damage to Earth enemies. Its damage and the effectiveness of its Lifesteal is determined by Poison affinity. So yeah, almost done with this series! Next one after Metal is an expose on how Light and Dark fit into this series, and how ranged weaponry interacts with Charged Attacks! (Which will be two separate posts!) And sometime I will post about how Force interacts with Elemental Magic so look out for that!

Forest Charged Attacks
Part 7 out of 9! Feel free to check out the previous posts in the series here if you're interested. This one will be a longer one. Forest Charged Attacks Strung Lash is the first Forest Charged Attack I ever made, and among the first Charged Attacks. It’s basically a weedwhacker, or a tightly wound string lashing out when finally released. It has enough force to potentially cut enemies, knock them off balance too! In essence, this Charged Attack is one part whip, one part Spin Attack. And skilled users can execute it as a non-spin attack, releasing it like a regular whip to unfurl itself and slam on a target, or tightly contain the spin to create a shield or propeller-like effect. Piercing Thorn is the second ever Forest Charged Attack, and came sometime after Strung Lash. It is a mirror to Piercing Frost, and was created at the same time; when I came up with the names, they filled a needed niche, what can I say. Bursting Seeds was made sometime in 2024, and this Charged Attack is all about Forest application, unleashing a spray or burst of seeds that also burst on impact as a wave of projectiles or a shotgun-like AoE. A target that takes the full brunt of this onslaught is likely to be Overgrown, but the severity is determined by the user's Forest Affinity or Status Mastery. How potently they can wield Forest magic, or how effectively they can inflict Status. Overgrown by default Slows a target until they can extricate themselves. The next tier up Restrains them, preventing movement until they can extricate themselves. The third and final tier Immobilizes a target indefinitely. Surging Growth came a few months ago if I recall, so early 2025. It is one of the latest Charged Attacks, and effectively performs as a Dash that leaves a trail of Overgrowth. It can leave struck enemies tripped up by sudden grasping growths, or with a more potent wielder inflict Overgrowth on them to make them Restrained in the wake of the user’s burst of speed.  All in all, it has been awhile, but I think this is good! Do let me know if you have questions about the magic system or feedback on how I can improve formatting!

Water Charged Attacks
Part 6 of 9! Masterpost link is here if you want to see the previous ones in the series. There are only three Water Charged Attacks. First is Pressure Jet. This is where you hold your weapon ready for a thrust, arms trembling, set against the delayed impact as the Charge builds within your weapon. And then, it releases as a jet of water sharp as any sword. Excellent due to its Armor Penetration and high Knockback. Can Soak opponents as well, leaving them susceptible to Water-based Synergies like electrifying wet targets or throwing seeds on wet targets to apply vine-y Overgrowth. Second is Swelling Wave. This is an AoE sort of Charged Attack, executed as a right-to-left slam or an overhead smash. It repels and often flinches enemies, and has a high chance to Soak them as well. Third is Rushing Wave. Rushing Wave is a Dash combined with a Charged Attack. It is generally executed with the blade held back at a downward angle, like with the "long tail guard" in fencing, but can also be executed with the blade held straight back at one's side, which segues into a thrust or sweeping slash. High speed, knockback, and Soak potential. The format for this one is pretty tight, but if you have feedback on how to improve this or the previous Charged Attack (CA) posts, or questions on how they work, please let me know! Thank you!

Scream into the void. Stare into the abyss. But what is holding you right now? Always present. Always there. A scream that you've heard for so long its faded into the background. A stare that held for so long you no longer notice it. The aether says hi. It wants to talk. BECAUSE YOU DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO IT!

I'm a writer with AuDHD and I use hyphens or em dash when characters interrupt each other all the time! Or to create interjections in a sentence! I DID THIS BEFORE AI EVER BECAME A REAL THING
"If you use em dash in your works, it makes them look AI generated. No real human uses em dash."
Imaging thinking actual human writers are Not Real because they use... professional writing in their works.
Imagine thinking millions of people who have been using em dash way before AI becomes a thing are all robots.

Yep. C'mon..... The Holocaust ended, and with it, slaughter of Jews, autists, LBTQ+, and so many other minorities considered "unacceptable" by a twisted idealogy. We should not have anti-Semitism. We should not have anti-Philistinism. We should not have anti-autism. People should be judged for who they are, not what they have or what they call themselves.
(Unless what they have is money from willful and massive exploitation of others, in which case by their fruits ye shall know them and who they are seems pretty dang clear!)

Correlation is not causation. And at this point it's pretty dang clear that they're trying to lump autism and trans-ism (?) together as a disease. Look, I am autistic. I am not trans. I do not personally agree with changing gender. But I don't think trans people are bad people, or worse for changing gender, or a disease. They are people who made a choice I do not understand. They are people.
And I do not want either side of these minorities getting hurt by intolerant people who have made themselves unable to see their value. FREAKING STOP IT.

Saw this on Reddit today. Things just keep getting worse.

If someone starts saying that "contributing to society" is what makes you have value, keep in mind that we as a species have valued our old or disabled who could not work since ancient times.
Your value is not in being able to contribute to a workforce or a profit margin. Besides, no one can do that 24/7. And how many times does a homeless person become homeless on purpose? C'mon guys. Look at the messages and find their motivation. What is a business' motivation?
Tumblr media
True, some autistics won't pay taxes, hold a job, play baseball, write a poem or go on a date. This doesn't devalue them! We autistics have value because we're human.

As an autistic, everything is a dang spectrum, everyone has something they struggle with, things they can do with difficulty and things they can't do. And when you start eliminating people based on what you think should be allowed, guess what we see happen? We go down the freaking spectrum, from the "obvious freaks" to the ones you can barely tolerate or find acceptable, to you. Because any spectrum in humanity inevitably leads back to the baseline, and any intolerant fool who would seek death or "cures" for people who are different will eventually crack down on otherwise acceptable members of society he disagrees with. This is why someone's right to life should not be determined by an opinion and why killing should always, always be a last resort. Because while we may not agree with someone's differences, that does not change their value. Just because you can't see the value doesn't mean it isn't there, and a group of people all the same will suck at or be unable to do the same things. Blocking progress. Why? Because neurotypicals do not escape this spectrum of challenges and disabilities, and should realize that their lack of struggles compared to us does not mean that they are better, just as our struggles do not make us bad people. Good grief people, we're all just trying to live. Stop investing resources in making other people's lives difficult, if you are being stupid stop being stupid, and try worrying about yourself if you can't be kind and thoughtful to others.
This might be me being an overly sensitive advocate for folks with MSN/HSN or whatever but I’ve seen a lot of sentiments in light of recent comments from RFK junior’s comments about autistic people basically diminishing the fact some autistic people do in fact have high support needs and symptoms like RFK Junior is describing.
I do think it is important to highlight that the autism spectrum is diverse and that yes, some autistics have lower support needs and that autism isn’t always comorbid with intellectual disabilities or struggles with things like using the bathroom or paying taxes.
At the same time, let’s not pretend MSN/HSN autistics are a myth or be ableist by refusing to associate ourselves with higher support needs autistics or getting frustrated when the more disabling symptoms of autism are mentioned.
If the Trump administration ever takes the route of eugenics, it will be people with high support needs targeted first. Then medium support needs, and finally us medium-low and lower support needs autistics.
The message we need to put out in the face of RFK Junior’s autism rhetoric is, “Not all autistics have these struggles, but if they do so what? They’re still human beings and entitled to the same respect and courtesy as anyone else.”
Not “Autistic people don’t struggle like that.”

I may have no idea how to help you but I can raise awareness. Also, for what it may be worth to you, I'll pray for you. I wish you all the best buddy.
Does anyone have advice on how to move out from home when you’re disabled and would need significant support to be able to?
I feel like I’m at a breaking point now. Everything is unbearably bad. I rely on my parents for help with almost everything, and when I ask for help they always say that they will help me but never actually do. Or they will put it off for days/weeks even if it’s time sensitive. At this point I only ask for help with very limited things but they still do not actually help me.
I need help with just figuring out a plan and what steps I could take. I cannot handle feeling indefinitely trapped any longer. I’m starting OT soon and an autism support program but I know it will take a long time for those to get my skills where they need to be, and I have to get out sooner than that.
At this point ANY advice or possible help is appreciated. Even if it’s just you sharing what worked for you. Or honestly even if you just reblog this it would be so appreciated, I feel embarrassed to be asking for that but I’m desperate for any possible help right now.
And before anyone tells me to just leave and I can figure it out as I go: I would die if I tried to live on my own with no support. I can’t drive and have no source of income, and I have no friends in person who I can rely on for help.

Air Charged Attacks
Part 5 of 9! Gathering Vortex was the first Air Charged Attack ever conceived. As one Charges a weapon with Gathering Vortex, naturally it creates a vortex, drawing in powerful swirls of ambient energy to Charge the user’s weapon. In essence, with little to no Stamina investment, the weapon will Charge itself; and it will absorb energy from things bosses can do to change the environment (like starting multiple fires on the battlefield, raising massive heaps of vegetation, or like the two Monster Hunter bosses Xeno'jiva and Saf'jiva creating glowing cracks or craters) to unleash Element-laced Air-boosted attacks. Windlash is a different animal. Harness your weapon to winds you stretched taut with your pull, hold them still with a firm hand, then unleash these winds to see your weapon whip into a flurry with incredible speed and power. Basically, it’s another high-speed combo, but it’s ideal for inflicting Overblown.....if I decide to have Overblown as a thing. (Overblown is a Status I'm considering where if you land enough Air attacks to Stagger an opponent, they get blown right off their feet by the accumulated Air energy, or vice versa. It may be too strong tho.) Windrush is, again, a different animal. In a burst of wind, it pierce the sky itself, and deliver a strike that can wound even stone. This attack is a fusion of Dash and Charged Attacks like Piercing Thorn, except it has Armor Negation instead of Armor Penetration and can inflict Bleed. Also, if it staggers, it automatically inflicts Overblown. Air Bubble is yet another mutation. In a burst of swirling waves, it surrounds you in a wall of raging winds that lasts maybe a minute....or five.....depends on your Affinity. Air Bubble can block poisonous gases and create an air pocket if you’re in water or underground (though if you’re buried, well, good luck getting Air to shove several feet of soil out of the way). It also acts as an Air-type shield, so it can also block Electric attacks (Air is an insulator) until of course sufficient Electricity builds up to trigger Thunder. It is also ineffective against Fire due to Flare, the Fire/Air "Interaction" (please give me another term for when Elements react together if you can) which will cause flames to sweep through the Air Bubble and thus surround the user of Air Bubble. It works against Chill though, by trapping air to create a warm spot!
So yeah, hopefully this all makes sense. If you have questions or feedback on how to improve these posts, or on the magic system so far, let me know! As for the previous posts in the series, you can find them here.
(The link above is for my masterpost on the series.)
Terms Used: Charged Attack-If you don't know what it is Google it or check Part One on the masterpost. C'mon guys. Dash-a game thing where you shoot forward a short distance. Like a sprint but with superspeed. Typically denoted by a streak of light.
Armor Negation-the quality of dealing damage to armor not just the target. Like a mace as opposed to a sword. Armor Penetration-the quality of ignoring or bypassing armor on a target to a certain extent. Essentially, the armor's still reducing your damage, but more of your damage gets through it. It's a bypass not a solution to armor. Affinity-how attuned you are to a given Element. This attunement is ranked from 1-10, and you need a connection of at least 6 to use Spells or Charged Attacks or learn skills tied to a given Element.
