Awesome Mum
Name: Nat
  1.    Can you remember your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant?
I will always remember that special day when I found out I was pregnant with Evie, it felt like all my wishes and dreams came true. I was so happy I cried with joy. After 3 years of trying it all came down to this special moment and it was April fools day.
2.    How old is/are your kiddo/s?
Evie is my one and only and is now officially 20 months young
3.    If you could give a little advice to expectant Mums about birth, what would that be?
My advice would be to expecting mum’s about birth is it’s nothing like the movie and every birth is different so take it as it comes.
4.    What is one thing you have learnt since becoming a Mum that you feel like you wouldn’t have learnt otherwise?
One thing I have learnt since being a mum that I would have never learnt without Evie is unconditional love. I’ve never loved someone who I have never met so much that I would do anything for.
5.    Are you a stay at home Mum or do you work outside of the home too?
I am currently a proud stay at home mummy, I want to raise my daughter in her first few precious years to see all her first’s. I am lucky enough that I can do this thanks to my wonderful husband who sacrifices working away from us that make this happen. I do however plan to go back to work part time when Evie turns 2.
6.    Do you have time for hobbies? And if so, what are they?
My hobbies are renovating dollhouses (which is a new hobby since being a mum) and then cake decorating. I basically love anything crafty and I am always doing projects.
7.    Is handmade important to you? If so, why?
Handmade is important to me as homemade means made with love and care. It also helps out small business’ who are trying to achieve their goals and dreams.
8.    What is your favourite thing to wear?
My favorite thing to wear is my comfy jeans and my ring set my husband gave me. If I have these on it feels like I can achieve anything that comes my way.
9.    What is your favourite food to eat when the kids are in bed?
When Evie is popped away a sleep in bed I love to snack on cadbury peppermint chocolate. A little taste of heaven!
10.  What is the funniest thing your child has done/said?
The funniest thing that Evie has done or does is cleaning everything with a detol wipe. I’m a clean freak and I think she has seen me cleaning with the wipes. She thinks everything should be cleaned, even me!
11.  Sometimes parenting is hard, especially for new mothers. Are there any words of encouragement you would like to give a new mum who might be reading this?
This is what advice I live by:
There will be good days and there will be tough days but just remember to look into your little ones eyes and you will know its all worth it! Would you really want to go back to life before them? I know I don’t!

What Inspires Me
Sometimes I go through periods of, i guess you could call it creative block, where I find it hard to come up with new ideas or choose new fabrics. So when this happens I like to brows my fellow handmakers, I often find looking through their amazing works, watching their  snapchats or instagram videos usually gets me inspired and off I go again.
When I first started Penny Thoughts it was a new hobby, it helped me overcome some personal struggles I was dealing with at that time. The more I sewed, the more I wanted to learn about sewing (I still have so much to learn). I made clothes for my daughter, table runners, leggings, hair accessories, hand towels, bibs, the list goes on. Friends and family started asking where I had bought those items and when they found out I had made them, they asked me if I could make them things too. So thats really where it all started. It has been almost 3 years and I am still enjoying it. I get so much joy seeing my creations enjoyed by other people.
Im not really sure where I thought this blog post was going, I think I just wanted a little chat :) I have listed a few handmakers I follow and who inspire me. Please give them a follow (Instagram) as I am sure you will love their work as much as I do.

Amazing Mum
 Name: Dale
Can you remember your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant?
I will never forget my first reaction to finding out I was pregnant – I was so happy but I cried at the same time, as it was at that instant I knew sh!t just got real!
How old is/are your kiddo/s?
My boys are 3 1/2yrs and 1yr
If you could give a little advice to expectant Mums about birth, what would that be?
Don’t stress.. everyone experiences different things when it happens.  You may have a plan but it could go right out the window.
What is one thing you have learnt since becoming a Mum that you feel like you wouldn’t have learnt otherwise?
You think you know love, but when you hold your baby for the first time and look into its eyes – it’s a whole new level of love that you never even knew existed.
Are you a stay at home Mum or do you work outside of the home too?
Technically I work 3 days a week but don’t we work fulltime anyway once we become parents?!
Do you have time for hobbies? And if so, what are they?
Finding time is hard work but when I do have it, I love to catch up with friends, cook or find an arty project to work on.
Is handmade important to you? If so, why?
Handmade is important to me because you’re supporting someone who has a real passion for making their products and in turn, it’s made with love and the quality is better than something which is mass produced.
What is your favourite thing to wear?
Do pyjama’s count?!
What is your favourite food to sneak eat when the kids are in bed?
A cup of milk & milo… it’s nice to enjoy without my 3yr old sitting right in my face asking for spoonful’s of the milo!
What is the funniest thing your child has done/said?
How do I pick just one moment!... My 3yr old constantly makes us laugh.. Just recently he decided riding around his bedroom naked on his giant toy giraffe was a fun idea instead of putting on his pyjamas – that’s a video for his 21st!
Sometimes parenting is hard, especially for new mothers. Are there any words of encouragement you would like to give a new mum who might be reading this?
Don’t feel like you have to take everyone’s advice – only you know what’s going on in your own world so just listen and take on board the bits you want to.

The first blog post!
I thought I would add a blog to post updates and anything else that takes my fancy. I will also be starting a post about awesome mums!
Just an update on the shop, I have been only taking orders via social media as life has been a tad busy and I am finding it hard to find time to manage the online shop inventory. I am working on putting the shop back online but at this stage I am still taking orders via social media.
I love seeing your kiddies in the Bandana Bibs I make so please keep tagging me in your posts, I take time to look at them all <3.
The turn around time for custom orders is around 7 days, instead of making a bunch of items to keep the shop stocked I have been making them as the orders come through.
Anyway, that is all for now. Keep an eye out for the Amazing Mum post coming soon :)
