art summary for 2024~

am I improving in my art? maybe not, lmao! am I having fun, though? most definitely~! am I posting any of it? naaaahh

tbh, with the current state of the internet, i sort of have no interest in being involved with any online communities anymore. this is more of my own personal archive now, than anything else.

i'll keep on drawing for myself. i don't need anybody else's approval. in fact, I sort of prefer not being perceived.

Wow i haven't posted anything here for another whole year. Out here living my best life making art entirely for myself and nobody else apparently. Maybe I'll upload a log of last year's stuff.

another year, another art summary. hey, uploading on Dec 26 again!

Interestingly, I didn't post a single thing to this blog this year. I drew up two pages (and one un-uploaded page) of Joker and the Ace of Hearts, but that's about it for my uploads. Just didn't feel inclined to share anything else with anybody but my own friends, really. Sometimes it was because I drew reference images for my own OCs, or I drew somebody else's OC, or because I hadn't finished the set they belonged to (I have 4 more bunny girls from October, but I still have to draw 5 more to complete the full set of 10). I might post December's piece, as well as last year's December piece I never posted. Why not.

And I'm not sure whether or not I really made any "progress" with my art this year. Perhaps a little bit; if you take a look at the three-year summary under this, you'll see I re-drew Akari (pictured here in November) and it seems to be an improvement? And I found that I enjoy drawing realistic items (note the chili pepper in July).

But also, I kinda... don't care? I had fun with everything I drew. I'm slightly leaning into making more dynamic poses, though it's hard to see from this summary, so that's something. I'm realising my niche where I'm comfortable in is in drawing character designs and more cartoony things. And also, this doesn't take into account the literal THOUSANDS of words of worldbuilding I wrote for my original story.

All in all, 2023 was an interesting year. I finally have two complete 3-year summaries, so here's a 6-year summary to mark the occasion; my progress from 2018 to 2023 <3

Art summary once again~ Not much fully-coloured/rendered art this year, and less that’s been publicly posted because I just... didn’t feel the need to post? But, I’ve had fun anyway~

Three-year comparison is always under the cut! I think I can definitely say that I’ve gotten better at drawing chins over the years, if nothing else. It’s hard to tell when I haven’t been drawing much, lol.
