Until we Meet Again pt.4

Like a zombie, he went back to Misty’s and found the woman alone, cleaning up the shelf.

“Where is Jack?” he asked in a whisper.

“Gone to fetch us lunch,” she gently replied. “Why don’t you sit down while we wait for him?” He was pretty sure she was going to comment on his aura, and he wouldn’t be surprised if she told him it was dark. He felt depressed.

She sat on the other side of the counter and smiled warmly.

“Such a sad face,” she instead delivered and he snorted. And suddenly found himself crying. It came seemingly out of nowhere and he couldn’t stop. It was not the silent crying type, no, it came with full sobs and a heaving chest, with the sensation that he couldn’t breathe and that a snare was tightening over his heart. Misty’s small and cool hand fell on his wrist as he hid behind his palms in shame.

“I’m sorry, I don’t know what’s happening…” he cried.

“Just let it out, V, it just needs to be let out.”

So he did, it wasn’t like he could really stop it anyway as the stream turned into a torrent. It seemed to go on and on as if he was on a small raft, adrift in an unleashed sea and wave after wave of salted water barreled into him. Until, gradually, it dried up and he slowly wiped his eyes. He felt drained, and so, so tired.

Misty was smiling tenderly at him, as a mother would and that just made more tears fall on his cheeks.

“I just,” he tried, before a hiccup cut him off, “I just, I’ve got all these strange feelings inside like... I learned some things recently and it… It hurts. He is hurting and feels so, so sad for them, and guilty, and, and I’m like, having to live through these emotions too, without actually wanting to… And fuck, they are so strong!" he concluded with a note of anger.

The woman on the other side of the counter frowned and handed V a tissue.

“But V, there is no him and you, there is just you.”

« Momoshiro is sprawled out on the couch, flicking through the channels when Kaidou returns with the food. Waving off Momoshiro’s offer to move, he places the food on the coffee table and settles himself on the floor against the couch. He’s careful not to brush against Momoshiro’s legs as he does so.

Scrutinizing the platter of sushi, he decides to take his chances with a yellowtail, closing his eyes in bliss as the combined taste of the vinegar-flavored rice and earthy fish explodes across his palate. It’s been a long time since he’s tasted his senior’s cooking, and it’s still as good as he remembers.

“Good?” Momoshiro asks quietly, and Kaidou looks up to find him watching intently. Reminiscing half smile still on his face, he hurriedly ducks his head, cheeks coloring.

“Yeah, thanks,” he mumbles. »

The last few ones were kept uncolored for a while but there  Annnd for the record the rule for this thing was to have as many characters in the picture as the number of the day it was drawn on, 1 character on the 1st of December, 10 characters on the 10th, etc  It was a silly rule and it got very messy and I definitely cheated by having the “characters” be very simple things to draw Ohwell
