Kirk just tilts his head at the man - waiting for him to say something, he seems to be a little bit in shock. Maybe he's never seen a starship before - he looks about as human as Kirk is. "Do I know you?" Kirk asks slowly, head still tilted just a bit - he doesn't think he remembers him from anywhere, maybe they met at a bar or something once. That'd explain why he doesn't remember him. 

    Kirk doesn't say anything about it, but his lips quirk up into an amused grin because he thinks it sounds a bit like something the bad guy would say in a given scenario. He listens while whats-his-face explains himself, rubbing his temple after a minute - it's not the weirdest thing that's happened, but it's pretty far up there. The legend part pleases him a little bit more than it should, though. 

         "I don't either." Kirk admits, and he'll have to check as soon as he's done here with someone to make sure the transporter pads are in order. "Y' already know me, 'pparently. Don' think I caught your name?"

Kirk much prefers Bones' quarters as opposed to the medbay. It's more comfortable and it doesn't smell as much like medicine and it's warmer than the medbay. It's also more familiar, not surprising since the medbay isn't familiar at all - considering he's only here when he absolutely has to be, or when someone drags him down due to injury or other medical conditions.

   He's used to making due with just the dorm attending but he knows it's more likely that Bones'll be down here today and he's proven right when Kirk tilts his head back to look at whomever was coming in and it's Bones. He turns his head back around and swings his legs up until there's something being set beside him on the bed. 

   "Morning', 'n not accident prone," he protests with a shake of his head, his legs shifting to stay still as opposed to the previous swinging. The gash on his arm was fairly medbay worthy, he'd have to admit, but he hardly thinks it's something he absolutely needed to come down for like his first officer seemed to think. 

  "Spock made m' come down here," he explains briefly after a moment, gaze shifting when a nurse walks by just for a moment before returning to Bones.

 He supposes Bones is busy, which doesn't surprise him now that he thinks about how much chaos he's probably dealing with at the moment. Jim doesn't really care who it is that patches him up, as long as it's someone that'll do it right (and he knows Dr. Marcus is completely capable of doing exactly that.)

        He does however cringe slightly when he takes notice that she's armed with hypo's because damn if he doesn't hate those things with every fiber of his being. He doesn't think she'll have to use them, unless he's missing something but they still make his nose crinkle. 

   "Mm, how'd y' guess?" He asks, an amusement dripping into his tone as he tilts his head back towards her. It's hardly secret that Jim Kirk does not go down to the medbay unless pushed, and even then not everyone on his crew manages to actually get him to go down. Generally he'll just humor them with an empty agree to go down - there's a one in five chance he actually ends up within breathing distance of the place.

"2259." Jim answers easily, raising an eyebrow at her. " 's that a problem, miss?" He asks, still curious as to who she is. She looks fairly harmless if he's honest, but he supposes that at first glance Uhura and Dr. Marcus could give off the same impression - and they're both anything but.
