Fic where, in a modern au, Geralt is a pest control officer with a beer gut and dad bod, who brings his wife home flowers every other week. He gets his paycheck every two weeks on a Friday, from all the jobs he worked in those two weeks, and he comes home Friday nights with a bouquet of flowers for Yennefer.

Sometimes they’re ones he bought from the grocery store on his way home from work, sometimes they’re ones he picked from a field with Ciri, colorful purple wildflowers, but no matter which, they’re always delivered every other Friday, sitting in a small vase on their kitchen counter. Yennefer stretches up on her tip toes to reward him with a kiss on the cheek.

And Yennefer doesn’t skimp on giving him gifts either. Some Saturdays, he’ll wake up to the smell of pancakes. Yennefer doesn’t like them herself, preferring a cup of coffee and the oatmeal she buys from the supermarket when they go Monday evenings, but she makes them for him. Ciri likes them too, but she likes anything sweet her mom makes for breakfast.

While they don’t do traditional sappy “I love yous” before bed or in the morning, they give each other small gifts, and bury their heads into the crook of the other’s neck when they hug, and cuddle up together under a blanket to watch shows with Ciri- and hey, isn’t that an “I love you” all on its own?
