Had to unfollow this one person on here cause they just would not stop making posts about how transfems on e getting periods is just made up symptoms and like, I don't have definitive proof I only have my and others experience but like how do you, as someone who is not on e, who has access to the same amount of studies looking into this with decent sample sizes as I do (none), feel so confident to say it's all just placebo and made up ? learning about some genders

I have noticed a motif in Deltarune. I may not be the first to discuss this. But I haven't seen anyone else mention it before.

December Holiday has an established visual motif and I haven't seen anyone mention it so far.

Okay so. Earlier today, my friend was playing through chapter 4 and casually mentioned Noelle being associated with angels because they're something you put on top of a christmas tree. Then all of this information at once clicked into place in my brain and I need to go off.

Then, Dess, her sister, would be associated with the other thing you put on top of a Christmas tree - Stars.

This makes sense! Dess' room is decorated with star decals. She's also a musician, a "star," which is the EXACT sort of terrible pun Toby Fox would base a recurring motif on.

So... Why do I care?

The other character most associated with stars is Asriel, who is also associated with angels, making him a real headache for symbolic analysis.

But putting him aside, the other character most associated with stars...

It's The Roaring Knight.

The Knight's internal typing, is... Dark/Star. They also have two lines of flavor text referencing stars in their battle, which is very notable and prevalent.

The Knight also references PK Starstorm in her animations and SFX, and the Shadow Mantle specifically protects against Dark/Star. You also fight the Knight on a starry night, interrupted by some sort of storm.

If I wanna completely lose my fucking mind, I could also argue referencing Silver and Gold stars is a reference to the christmas song, but that feels like a stretch even for Deltarune brainrot.

But also.

Then... This line, from Chapter 4. Generally agreed to be talking about the origin of shadow crystals.

This is pointing to the Knight, and Dess.

The Knight, the fallen Star, Dess, weeping when you encounter it. Then in the world that grows from the dark waters, its tears look like glass - the Shadow Crystals the Knight distributes, that its sword is made out of.

I'm gonna level here I don't have anything more than this or even a reason why I think it's there, but I've been trying to find anyone else who has noticed Dess' connection to stars and I genuinely can't find a single other person mentioning this so I'm going to go insane if I don't talk about it.
