god i love thinking about the musical “””identities””” of my oc stories (if that makes any sense)…. like the kind of music they’d have if they were video games

perraria (story playlist here) would have a very calm ish ost with a lot of orchestral(?) elements (string, woodwind, and brass instruments) + general fantasy vibes in its music. I like to think of these two songs as its main themes. the entire ost wouldn’t be like this though… there would be some exceptions where it isnt all chill fantasy sounding music (but those are SPOILERS!!!!)

crit dmg (story playlist here) is like the complete opposite of perraria lol. very energetic electronic music w probably a lot of sampling, drum n bass, and cool electric guitar stuff…. but also some intense stuff when things get serious. think early 2000s video game music. stuff that makes you go hell yeah

BONUS: perraria 2hnb (story playlist here) is (mostly) big band jazz baby!!!! don’t know what to say here tbh. music you’d hear in a casino or something

GUH sorry this took so long to answer i was thinkin bout other stuff… ill answer this w the perraria guys bc im working on redesigning them right now (also im assigning them pokemon they would have)

MAIN 4 (and luna):

otto: mmmm probably revavroom? (he owns a car) (its always so hard to come up w any pokemon related stuff w this guy tbh)

joi: sylveon (pink and vaguely rabbit-like) (or wingull bc she lives by the beach)

ace: mismagius (self explanatory; its straight up the MAGICAL pokemon)

hero: gallade or aegislash (also self explanatory; these guys are swords/blades)

luna: lunala (i dont even need to say anything. you understand.)

2HNB GANG:

tom: yanma (idk man this was the first pokemon that came to mind. i think she’d like bugs.. bug catching would be one of her many hobbies)

roy: porygon (gamer)

lady: persian (she’d like cats tbh. and money ofc)

The design difference between the older versions of redbot and this new one give the same vibes as the design difference between sonic from the 90s and sonic from the modern day dyou get what I'm putting down here

crit dmg isn’t as worldbuilding heavy as my other stuff (like perraria + 2hnb) but id like to share some stuff about it here bc why not

even though turnstyle is the main setting for like 90% of the story there’s actually another pretty major location!! v&m eventually have to travel to the capital of futuretecha, new opportunity — a big shiny futuristic city (search up utopia city on like pinterest or something to see what im talking about) where the ark hq is located!!

new opportunity is pretty much controlled by ark so there’s a lot of like. ads for ark or whatever all over the place. new opportunity seems nice on the surface but can be kinda scary if you think about it too hard.. like its an ENTIRE CITY straight up owned by a company man….. also the ark hq tower itself is like scary tall (so much that it can be seen anywhere, even outside new opportunity)

(also kind of unrelated tangent here but ark as a whole is kind of sort of based off of how fucking scared i am of technology is today man… pretty much reflected in how vinny and mae are legit intimidated by how much ark has an iron grip over new opportunity + some other spoilerly stuff im not gonna mention here. uriel would love ai bullshit + cryptocurrency if he was real)

as for other locations in crit dmg mae does come from somewhere else outside of turnstyle.. haven’t thought of the details about where she’s from but she came from a place that has colder weather (so she isn’t really used to how freakin hot turnstyle can be once she moves in)

i wanna try developing a seperate artstyle for perraria just so i can draw a crit dmg guy and a perraria guy together in their own different artstyles… would be very fun
